Helena Stranjik, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This thesis take care about Serbian phraseology, more specifically about research in knowledge and useage picked Serbian phraseologic comparison describing physical and psychological of person. It's bringing theoretical description of phrasems as specifical units of language, that is particularly focused on phraseological comparsion. On base of answer sheets between native speakers living on Serbian area (primary in cities of Cacak and Belgrade) is build the research of knowing and measure of useage of some Serbian phraseologic comparsion, intercepted in Serbian and serbiacroatia phraseologic dictionaries and bases, theirs cultural backgrounds and motivations. Julijana Matanović - Commented Translation of selected short stories

This theses will pay attention to a commented translation of selected short stories of contemporary Croatian author Julijana Matanović from her storybook Zašto sam vam lagala. The first part of the theses will be focused on a introducing of the author and her literary production including her place in the context of Croatian literature. The second, essential, part will contain the translation of the selected short stories into Czech language. In the third part will be sketched the translating process, there will be also described the applied translation methods. Here will be also concretely analysed some translatological problems. In the language side, the work will be reviewed with the Czech language possibilities. There would be also the comparison with the already existing German translation of the storybook.

The words of foreign origin in English and Serbian with a focus on anglicisms and germanisms

(in English) Our master's thesis deals with formal adaptation of Anglicisms and Germanisms in Czech and Serbian language. The focus of the thesis lies mainly on substantives and their orthographic and morphological adaptation. Moreover, it concentrates on the differences and specificities in both languages and the various ways of writing search terms. For this purpose, Czech and Serbian language corpora were used to serve both the search itself and the approximate indicator of the use of different variants of the writing of individual expressions.

Mistakes in Acquisition of Serbian as a Foreign Language

(in English): Our master's thesis deals with errors that students do during the acquisition of Serbian language. We focused on the grammatical but also on the spelling aspects of the Serbian language. The data from students were collected in form of questionnaire, test and translation. These were filled in by fifty respondents whose mother tongue was mainly Czech and six respondents had Russian language as their mother tongue. Language proficiency of Serbian was between levels A1 and C2. However, native speakers of Serbian had Czech as their second mother tongue. Interlanguage and intralingual interference were also the matter of our error analysis. Because of that we were also interested in other Slavic languages that our respondents speak. The aim of our thesis is to find out what kind of errors students of Serbian language do. Through this we would like to help both the students in more efficient language learning and the teachers to overcome the errors made by students and thereby contribute to the improvement of their language skills.

Abstract Despite the fact that phraseology is present-day and appealing theme in linguistic, that many linguists gain from, which is due to fact that our language is made up of many steady and idiomatic structures that foreign students have to learn, this scientific discipline is still an area where the linguists have not yet agreed on the definition of its basic unit and field of research. Besides that, there is evident variance in the number of works within phraseology and phraseography in Czech and Serbian linguistics. The main objective of this dissertation is to analyse the Czech and Serbian phraseological theory, classification of phrasemes and phraseography, including the theoretical background to create a bilingual phraseological dictionary. Language contact of Serbian and Turkish

The subject of the present thesis is the language contact between Serbian and Turkish languages. The study is focused mainly on the borrowing of vocabulary as a result of the close contact between these two languages. The part of the research is presented in a form of a dictionary containing words in Turkish, Serbian (including Serbian domestic synonyms) and their translation to Czech. The first chapter examines the social and historical reasons of the penetration of the Turkish borrowings of vocabulary into the Serbian language. The second chapter presents the formation of contact linguistics and the definition of "language contact" as well as its types. The language contact occurs when two or more languages interact which leads to linguistic changes, one of the most common changes is borrowing of vocabulary. There are different types of languageborrowings, however, the most researched ones are the lexicalborrowings. In this thesis the Turkish loanwords/phrases were divided into groups based on their degree of domestication in the Serbian language(each group is presented by examples). Expressive Language of Marko Vidojković

(in English): In thesis we dealt with expressive language of contemporary Serbian author Marko Vidojković. We chose "Kandže" and "Sve crvenkape su iste" for stylistic analysis from his several novels. In this analysis, the most important part is his most successful novel "Kandže". We divided the bachelor thesis into theoretical and practical part. In first part we tried to elucidate the basic stylistics terms. The second part was the analysis. We divided the novel "Kandže" into characters and monitored speech of characters and noted the most interesting moments. We introduced concrete examples from book in Serbian language, which we translated into Slovak using translation and descriptive dictionaries. We already knew that novels of Marko Vidojković always have similar language, so we tried to note phenomena, which is present in the first mentioned book. We observed two basic differences. In the second novel more neologisms and hypocoristics seem to be present than in novel "Kandže". The main target of thesis was to determine proportion of expressive language in books. The most numerous were profane words and slang. It shows amongst other that Serbian language is rich of these words.

Dictionary of Croatian-Belarussian interlingual homonyms

The thesis deals with interlingual lexical homonymy in the Croatian and Belarusian languages. The core of the thesis is a Croatian-Belarusian dictionary of homonyms. The preceding, theoretical part focuses first on the denomination of the linguistic phenomenon of interlingual homonymy and on the existing research in the sphere of homonymy among the Slavic languages. A following section of the thesis is devoted to the various types of intralingual and interlingual homonyms and to some differences in their classification. The thesis also looks at the ways in which interlingual homonyms originate, in relation to the origin of the lexical units that make pairs of homonyms. Two principal ways in which pairs of homonyms can originate are described: coincidental formal agreement and agreement as a result of common development or of the borrowing of the same foreign word. Depending on their origin, homonyms are divided into pairs representing the common Slavic lexical stock and pairs of foreign origin. The next part of the thesis presents the principles under which lexicographic material for the dictionary was collected, the lexicographic sources used in the process, and the structure of the dictionary entries. Interlingvistical Homonymity in Verbs - Comparison of Czech and Serbian

The subject of this bachelor's thesis is verbal Czech/Serbian homonymity. The thesis focuses on verbal prefixes and their ability to change verb meaning in connection to interlanguage homonymity. The first part provides readers with a theoretical background needed for understanding this topic, namely lexicology and its domains. Further, emphasis is put on homonymity (and its genesis), polysemy and word formation. My research focuses particularly on prefixes in both languages and the comparison between their individual meanings. The same method is applied to the comparing of verbs that are prefixed by given prefixes. The meanings are entered into the Czech/Serbian dictionary which contains 101 homonym pairs and three homonym triplets.

Similarity of Serbian and Slovak Language Concerning Substantives

(English): In this bachelor thesis we were trying to compare Serbian and Slovak language in terms of vocabulary according to substantives. Due to extensiveness of the grammatical category of nouns we decided to define our thesis only on family and kinship terminology. In the process of comparing we were using translation and explanatory dictionaries as well as etymological dictionary which was the major indicator whether or not have these two languages the same origin. It turned out that the roots of both Indo-European languages date back to Proto-Slavic languages. While many of the old Serbian kinship names preserved until today, in Slovak we can observe the gradual disappearance. The reasons why they died out are a new way of life, moving from the place of the former residence what is resulting in limited meeting with friends and relatives. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first part we write about the general terms relating to the family and relatives. The second part already deals with kinship terminology which we categorized into consanguinity (blood kinship), affinity and spiritual kinship.
