Olga Borissová - Pračiková (Dancer and Teacher)

I wanted to dedicate my Bachelor thesis to summarize personal and working life, career and pedagogic influence of Olga Borissova ? Pracikova, which is also a soloist for National Moravian-Silesian Theatre and member of Pedagogic group Janackova conservatory and gymnasium in Ostrava. Due to study in Kiev?s trade school, she?s influenced by Russian classic dance technique. Within her pedagogical activity she also use technique developed by worldwide known dancer, choreographer and artist Agripina Vaganovova. In this work I have tried to point out exceptional training of her technique and its usage within the dance conservatory environment. By personal opinion of O. Borissova, I would like to make the meaning and application of Vaganovova?s technique more familiar.
Current Approaches to teaching Dance in selected Prague Institutions

In my thesis I compare three institutions focused on teaching dance. I gained information about these institutions through the research conducted in the form of an interview with representatives of each of them. I also made direct observation. The aim of this thesis was to find current approaches to teaching dance, long -term goals of each institution and priorities of their wards presentation. Total number of pupils, division of classes and specific number of pupils in each class serves for clarity and total conception of each institution. Results then bring concrete idea of the institution.
Home Environment of Students in dance Families

Bachelor thesis "Home environment of students in dance families" describes a family environment where parent?s profession is dance. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first theoretical part are discussed pedagogical and psychological theories about family and children. The second part is based on research that contains abstracts of interviews with Zuzana and Jiří Pokorný and Margarita and Vyacheslav Pleškovi. The goal was to map the environment where are growing up future generations of dancers.
Issues of dance Management

First part of the thesis is overlooking over historical development of general management, recent theories, outputs and structural division of basic management tasks and functions. The thesis seeks to emphasize a knowledge, an experience, a fact of learning from own or others mistakes and the most useful principles that helped pioneers in other fields to achieve their success. Further it pursues management of performing arts; it analyzes its issues, its importance for artists and the system of dividing the management positions in the theatre. Last part of thesis describes a structural analysis of management responsibilities that are necessary needed to gain its successful realization of business/artistic purpose. It is a scheme built on the knowledge obtained by studying the theories of general, cultural and performing arts management and practical experience of the author. The scheme primarily focuses on the areas of planning, production, marketing and financial support of the implemented project.
Body as a Tool for functional classical Dance

This thesis explores the human body on the basis of its anatomical disposition in connection with the functional principles which enable to develop the correct body posture, leg position en dehors, classical dance poses and coordination of movement leading to rotation and jump. In this thesis, I look upon the human body as the main dancer´s tool allowing to perform the classical dance technique and by the described functional principles, I attepmt to support the correct execution of individual parts of the classical dance technique. In conclusion of this thesis, I comment on general employing of these functional principles in classical dance lessons.
The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing

In my thesis I am giving a description of an Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (later only ISTD). ISTD is an international board based in London. Its main purpose is to teach dancers and teachers of dance from around the world. I am describing its history, options of membership, types of examinations and particular faculties. An education of ISTD is divided into twelve faculties of dance: Tap Dance, National Dance, Modern Theatre, Classical Greek, Classical Indian Dance, Modern Ballroom, Latin American, Sequence, Disco, Freestyle & Rock?n?Roll, Club Dance, Cecchetti Classical Ballet and Imperial Ballet. Considering that I am studying the classical dance I have decided to focus on the faculty of Imperial Ballet. I am depicting syllabuses of all periods of examinations and expertises on ISTD.
Jerome Robbins - the basic proposition of his contribution to classical dance

This bachelor thesis is focused on the personality of Jerome Robbins and his contribution to classical dance. The work serves as a primary source of information about Robbins' life, the impact on the dance world and his work. The aim of the thesis is to inform about Jerome Robbins' enrichment of classical ballet technique with other dance styles and to inform about his new vision of the development of classical dance in the 20th century.

THE DANCE ELEMENTS OF ADAGIO IN THE CONTEXT OF PAS DE DEUX

My schoolwork called The Dance Elements of Adagio In the Context of Pas de deux concerns a description and structure of adagio and how adagio enriches the class of a classical dance, furthermore it also concerns Adagio as a part of scenic pas de deux. In the context of class of a classical dance of Adagio, my work deals mainly with methods of Russian teachers such as A. J. Vaganova and N. I. Tarasov. I also outline the beginnings of an evolution of pas de deux which are represented as duets in the nowadays ballet performances. Another aspect which I focus on is a description of scenic Adagio from Swan Lake, act 3, especially a partnership which is the indispensable part. The methodology and the division of dance with a partner is described according to N. Serebrennikov and his method.
Professional guild for dancers

This bachelor thesis gives a brief overview of professional guilds for dancers, whereas historically maps their history from 19th century till present. The mapping is done from a worldwide perspective. Author shortly mentions a history of some of the oldest guild of dancing-masters and their development all over the world. Author gives more attention to similar organizations in Czech countries. Their rising is set into 19th century. The work subsequently gets through 20th century and the so-called ?Red Era? of communism in to present time. The work also goes into today?s European and American systems of professional guilds, their history, goals and legislative backgrounds. Special attention is given to a problematic in Czech republic, existing professional guilds and their practical importance.
