Stability and coordination of Ultimate frisbee players
Juranová, Magdalena ; Medková, Kristina (advisor) ; Honců, Pavla (referee)
The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to describe coordination and the load distribution between the limbs of Ultimate frisbee (UF) players. We evaluate postural coordination (PC) in the following situations: tests in tension compared with tests in compression, tests with or without eye control. We evaluate the weight distribution between lower limbs (LL) and between upper limbs (UL) too. Methods: 20 volunteers enrolled in the study. They were the best national-level players represented by both sexes and aged 20-43 (average age is 31 years). The measurement was performed on the Imoove 300. The entry criteria were: active career in UF of at least 3 years, without serious illnesses (neurological, internal), surgery or injury (muscle rupture, fracture). Each player passed 12 DLC (dynamic life control) tests of Check Up mode. The following instrument set-up options were combined in the tests: type of standing position (stand straddling, PILL (pivot lower limb) step, LLL (lunge lower limb) step); test with eye control test (EC) or test with no eye control (NEC); test in tension or test in compression. The data was tested with a single Wilcoxon test. Results: At a statistical significance level of 0.05, it was shown that in the following assays, PC was better with visual control than without it:...
Attitudes of physiotherapy students towards work with patients with mental illness
Chreňová, Denisa ; Novák, Tomáš (advisor) ; Honců, Pavla (referee)
The main objective: The main goal of this work was to assess the attitude of physiotherapy students towards working with patients suffering from mental illness and to also assess their attitude towards mentally ill patients in general. The secondary aim concerns their level of knowledge of mental illnesses and professional experience during their practice at a psychiatric hospital and how they can both influence a student's attitude. Methods: To reach the final results a questionnaire was used. The questionnaire consisted of two parts: two standardized tests for measuring stigmatization (MAKS and MICA) and a set of my own questions for gaining further information. Results: Eighty-nine physiotherapy students from different towns and faculties participated in the study. An average score MAKS scale in the surveyed group of physiotherapy students was 49 out of a possible 60, indicating a very good level of knowledge of mental illnesses. A statistically significant difference in the level of knowledge was not proved between students of bachelor and master studies. Furthermore, the attitude of physiotherapy students to the mentally ill patients was found to be very positive (the average score was 68.7 on the MICA scale, out of a possible 96). This test detected quite a big difference concerning the...
Primary prevention of vertebrogenic algic syndrome of dental hygienists by means of Computer Kinesiology system
Jeníková, Klára ; Jandová, Dobroslava (advisor) ; Honců, Pavla (referee)
This bachelor thesis was elaborated on the topic of primary prevention of vertebrogenic algic syndrome. The theoretical part provides basic background information necessary for introduction to the issue which the intervention study deals with in the practical part. Whereas the beginning of the thesis describes vertebrate algic syndrome and the Computer Kinesiology system, which was used for kinesiotherapy, the latter part outlines the professional workload of dental hygienists. The study was attended by three dental hygienists aged 23 to 25 with functional disorders of the motion system who have at least two years of practice at the position of dental hygienist. The results of the entrance and exit tests of the motion system, which were carried out in the form of kinesiological analysis by a physiotherapist and by means of the diagnostic part of the CK system, are listed in the technical part. The kinesiotherapy proposed by the therapeutic part of the CK system is also described. The kinesiotherapy itself was in progress for two months. The results are presented in the form of tables and graphs.
Therapy of functional disorders of the locomotor system in nurses by the Computer Kinesiology system
Kotalíková, Kristýna ; Jandová, Dobroslava (advisor) ; Honců, Pavla (referee)
The aim of this work is to demonstrate the effectiveness of the use of the diagnostic and the therapeutic part of Computer Kinesiology for secondary prevention of back pain of functional aetiology. In the theoretical part of work is dealed with problems of functional disorders, back pain of functional aetiology and the occurrence of these difficulties in nurses. Finally, work describes diagnostics and the therapy according to the CK. In the practical part of bachelor thesis is presented four case studies of selected nurses. The results of the examination according to CK system, the examination of breathing stereotype, posture, spinal mobility, usually shortened muscles and muscle groups, movement stereotypes and pain before and after the treatment are presented in tables and graphs. The results of this work confirmed hypothesis number one: After the CK therapy, the value of the total dysfunction verified by the CK results will be reduced to at least 3 out of 4 (75%) nurses. The reduction of total dysfunction has occurred in all patients. In addition, hypothesis number three was confirmed: Provided that the back pain of selected patients is caused by a functional disorder, reduction of total dysfunction will reduce the intensity, frequency, and duration of painful attacks. Hypothesis number two: After...
