Theoretical Foundations and Pedagogical Model of Ethics Education for Policing
Sůva, Jiří ; Pinc, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Hogenová, Anna (referee) ; Pauza, Miroslav (referee)
SŮVA, Jiří. Theoretical Foundations and Pedagogical Model of Ethics Education for Policing. Prague, 2014. Dissertation work. The Pedagogical Faculty of the Charles University. Department of Civics and Philosophy. The dissertation combines analytical passages with philosophical reflections focusing on the theoretical foundations of ethics education of police officers, especially in the initial education. Rather implicit theoretical basis of contemporary police ethics education is identified as psychologically overstressed, focused on the narrow sphere of common mores, limited by competence-based approach, and mainly as unclear as to the answering of the basic questions which can generate compact understanding of police ethics and its education in terms of its possibilities, objectives, content, means, etc. In four chapters of this work we can see an attempt to offer such answers in an integral pedagogical model. These answers concern the differentiation of common mores from individual morals and ethics, the multidisciplinary nature of ethical discourse, the impossibility to "manufacture" results in ethics education, the meeting of the legal and the moral in The Code of Ethics of the Police of the Czech Republic, but also the context of ethics education within the postmodern spirit of the world-age,...
About the Relationship of Humility and Pride
Smetana, Pavel ; Hogenová, Anna (advisor) ; Blažková, Miloslava (referee)
This thesis deals with the research of humility from the view of its elusiveness - it does not define humility and it also does not even try to do so. Conversely, it walks around the phenomenon of humility and points at it in different ways. It uses examples, mostly from works of Comenius, and builds it with parallels from works of Jung, Foucault, Jünger, Drewermann and some other authors. It delimits humility against pride at example of different view of "epoché" in works of Comenius and Descartes; pride is basicly seen where human does not leave any unnaturalness and completely absorbs the world by his own opinion; work also uses Husserl's criticism of Descartes' view of "epoché" and Comenius' criticism of Machiavelli is also mentioned. Thence, the thesis sees the principle of humility in a close relation with the principle of faith or simply with the knowledge of the principle of some higher instance than the human's own sense is. The principle of humility is also nearby to the principle of grace - for this example the thesis researches Simone Weil's concept of "weight and grace"; grace from this point of view is an unpredictable step outside the performance-based part of human life. This thesis deals with mentioned phenomenons at first at the level of the visions of the world, later at the...
On Belief in Power
Smetana, Pavel ; Hogenová, Anna (advisor) ; Blažková, Miloslava (referee)
This thesis researches the phenomenon of (mostly human) power from the point of view, from which human accepts it and believes in it. At first, it deals with the phenomenon of power in the work of Machiavelli (The Ruler) and it points out the possible danger of its absolutisation. For insight into thinking of Machiavelli, it deals with the analysis of Ľubomír Belás and also with the viewpoint of Anna Hogenová, Jan Patočka, Ernst Jünger, Václav Bělohradský and other authors. The thesis also shows the Comenius' criticism of Machiavelli. There comes a sort of revelation of the principle of power which disregards other values and the thesis warns against it. In the next step, the thesis researches the conception of Václav Klaus (Blue, not a Green Planet) and with the help of Jan Keller's statements and some scientifical opinions in ecological issues (Ravi Kumar Kooparapu) the thesis finds it closed in a certain way of economical thinking, guestioning-suppressive and thus somewhat power-based. Further, this thesis researches the form of strong distortion of the picture of the world which appears in the work of ideologist Alexander Dugin (The Great War of Continents). It shows dangerous power - demagogic features in his work and compares it with the similarities in the orations of Rudolf Goebbels. The...
Conception of the Other in the philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre and Emmanuel Levinas
Tlapa, Tomáš ; Blažková, Miloslava (advisor) ; Hogenová, Anna (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is a philosophical interpretation of the problem of intersubjectivity in the work of Jean-Paul Sartre (1905 - 1980) and Emmanuel Levinas (1906 - 1995). In the first part, it deals with the conception of the Other in the Jean-Paul Sartre's Being and Nothingness and analyzes (after a brief introduction to Sartre's philosophy) concrete aspects of Sartre's theory of intersubjectivity. This part ends with a critique of Sartre's theory, which enable us to interpret the Levinas's theory as an alternative conception of intersubjektivity. The analysis in the second part is based on the Levinas's book Totality and infinity. The final part sums up the main differences of both conceptions. Key words: intersubjectivity, the Other, existence, freedom, ethics, Sartre, Levinas

Ontology of Interaction
Machová, Světlana ; Semrádová, Ilona (advisor) ; Hogenová, Anna (referee) ; Vogel, Jiří (referee)
In this dissertation we propose a novel ontological point of view representing inner dimension of being and its interaction based on the phenomenology, quantum physics, psychoanalytic methodology and cognitive metaphor theories. Empirical findings about the phenomenology of interaction, gained from the natural language, open a new dimension of scientific research and interreligious discussion. Comprehension system of inner semantics leads us to a deeper understanding of the world of being. Essential Self interaction. described by cognitive metaphor and allows us identification of universal structure hidden beyond the language. Acquired linguistic data suggest that mind's metaphoric self-reflection semantics closely correlate with a concept of entangled quantum particles and light binding phenomena. This theory gave us a unique opportunity to visualize the probabilistic picture of mind itself within an interdisciplinary approach of cognitive and philosophical studies. KEYWORDS ontology, interaction, semantics, cognitive, metaphor, light, quantum, mind, spirit, being,
