Managerial competences as basic conditions for managers

This work deals with managerial competencies as a basic prerequisite for successful performance of the function of a manager. This is based on the assumption that socio-psychological aspects of management are critical for effective leadership. This work aims to clarify the terminological interpretation of the term competence and on the origins of the competence approach. Unlike many other professions, in managerial work there is no clear agreement about what abilities a manager must have in order to carry it out effectively. The effectiveness of a manager's work is judged from a huge number of points of view and the range of criteria is far wider than for specialist work. There are no precise specifications for who can become a manager nor do they require any vocational training to carry out this function. For this reason the competencies mentioned in this assignment are not bound to a specific position or task, but which can be a guarantee of good performance in many professions, in various organisations and can differentiate above-average managers from the average.
