Doubrava, Šimon ; Jurkovič, Peter (referee) ; Galeová, Nicol (advisor)
A group of lots is located in a gap between a crossroad at Tomkovo square and the only natural solitaire nearby, Husovice hill. A newly-built highway bridge which is a part of outer Brno bypass unloads the street line of a big part of traffic load. Corner buildings, which stand between the bridge and the site serves as a noise barrier and together with the bridge, which moves the noise and vibrations to the upper levels change the site in a peaceful place. Calm character, the possibility to grab hold of the conection between Tomkovo square and Husovice hill and convenient commodity-monetary relations were three main reasons why the site was chosen for a proposal of dwelling complex.
Visions for Krnov
Kuklová, Tereza ; Všetečková, Alena (referee) ; Galeová, Nicol (advisor)
Krnov is a city located in Northern Moravia which lays at a foothill of Jeseníky. It is a lively city with a rich history known for its multiculturalism. This fact has had a major political, social and economic changes. Mostly in recent years there has been an increase in a number of activities of various communities, and ambitions of municipality and locals to get improve the quality of culture, family and healthy living near country side. Despite the fact that in the urban structure the distribution of function of residential, cultural, sacral, and industrial architecture it is typical for krnov history.
Visions for Krnov
Jeckelová, Tereza ; Bureš, David (referee) ; Galeová, Nicol (advisor)
The topic of my bachelor thesis is an urban area near the main square in Krnov located on a crossroad of streets Sv. Ducha and Soukenická ulica. On this place was located one of the main city gates - Hlubčická brána. Nowadays it can be considered as a vague place. In my thesis I propose a new library for Krnov. Currently the capacity of a library in Krnov is insufficient. I also deal with a topic of a library in 21st century and its importance for people nowadays and in the future.
LABORARTORY BRNO
Hrubešová, Martina ; Galeová, Nicol (referee) ; Ponešová, Barbora (advisor)
Gallery at the crossing Koliště and Milady horákové street calls for connection of green spaces in the city. Gallery is focused to landscaping. The design consists of three buildings - gallery, glasshouse and the building for workshops and gallery management - which make up one unit together. Gallery has got a simple plan, which allows a variable arrangement of exposure. In greenhouse you can find a cafe and shop with flowers and publications. On the highest plans glasshouse consists of terraces of different levels and glazed cells with specific climate These cells contain a special filling - butterflies, music, fragrance, fragments of flowers or mossy couch - which give a special impress from the exhibiton. Whole glasshouse is living area a makes auditorium for the courtyard. All these buildings have also required storage spaces, space for technical equipments and car stacker with 21 parking places.

Hertelová, Viola ; Matoušek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Galeová, Nicol (advisor)
My bachelor project is concerned with possibility to build a new residential structure in the vicinity of Tomko’s square in Brno. The project takes into account the planned widening of the north-western part of the cities circuit, which includes a bridging of the square by multi-lane road. A traffic solution of such a radical character shall significantly influence the already dysfunctional and shattered location and adjacent areas in an even more negative manner. The main objective of my work is to first and foremost find a urbanistic solution which would deal with these challenges and create suitable conditions for the unification and development of the area. Subsequently, my project proposes a residential building, through which I seek to explore the possibility to create residential structures in empty spaces in the, which are nowadays often created in the proximity of busy urban transport lines and which shall most probably continue to emerge in the future due to gradually larger flows of traffic.
Centre for Prevention, Masaryk Oncology Institute in Brno
Walterová, Klára ; Páterová, Kateřina (referee) ; Galeová, Nicol (advisor)
This diploma project is a design for a Cancer Prevention Center and an extension of the Department of Radiation Oncology of the Masaryk Institute of Oncology in Brno. There are no adequate spatial reserves in the existing hospital campus, or inside its buildings. New technology and modernisation require increased capacity of the Masaryk Institute of Oncology and improvement of the area by new development offering services like cancer prevention or proton therapy facilities.
Centre for Prevention, Masaryk Oncology Institute in Brno
Mikulová, Marie ; Adamson,, Kristina Richter (referee) ; Galeová, Nicol (advisor)
The project is a proposal of a new Center of prevention located in the Masaryk’s Oncology Institute in Brno. It includes the oncology center prevention itself, inpatient department for patients who attend radiation therapy and a proton therapy center. It is also supplemented by administration and rentable premises.
To Dvur Kralove by train - Transfer Terminal in Dvur Kralove nad Labem
Varmužová, Adéla ; Galeová, Nicol (referee) ; Foretník, Jan (advisor)
The use of the railroad siding for the passenger train will significantly increase its traffic. Because the track will be electrified, crossings and pedestrian crossings will have to be defined. The railroad, which will help the city and its inhabitants, will thus paradoxically become a constraint preventing future and future development. That's why I decided to take part of the track along the railway viaduct. The viaduct is subdued. It provides travelers with insight into the landscape they are passing through. It offers a view of the city from a different perspective. This is the "gateway to the city" in my proposal. Viaduct is conceived as a structure in the landscape, which is, besides rail transport, also a carrier of other functions. It is permeable both transversely and longitudinally. Longitudinal permeability defines the path, transverse interconnections. In the country the route is predominant. Under the Viaduct, you will find a cycle path, an in-line track and a hiking trail, which continues on to other trips around. The closer the viaduct is to the city, the more it fills up with individual operations until it is completed by the terminal hall.

Jaroslavice – place in the landscape
Šmejkal, Jiří ; Galeová, Nicol (referee) ; Ponešová, Barbora (advisor)
The theme of this diploma thesis is the architectural study of the complex of the Farm of 3D Printers in Jaroslavice. The technology of 3D printing at its speed of development has far outweighed the response to its needs. It lacks a new systematically planned building typology corresponding to the requirements of farms. Farms adapt to the spaces. The main aim of the work is to introduce the possibility of turning the situation and adapting the premises to the farms. The thesis follows the urban design of the restructuring of the Jaroslavice landscape elaborated in the previous semester. The project respects established principles at microregion level in the form of emphasis on self-sufficiency, population integrity or the use of current technologies. The land is located on the southern part of Jaroslavice. There are 3 agricultural buildings located on the property, which until 2010, when a photovoltaic power plant was built, operated in conjunction with a neighboring agricultural court. After the power plant was built, the bonds were irreversibly broken. Buildings are in a very poor condition and mutual cooperation no longer works. The existing solution replaces and shows the possibility of using solar energy in a different way. Thus, the construction cartridge works with a hybrid typology where the 3D production area is combined with the maximum solar gains of the photovoltaic panels. Generative methods have been used to design dominantly either for finding a form in terms of achieving maximum solar gains or after verifying the efficiency of the structure. The proposal has several scenarios of possible development. There are four different stages of growth and the linkage of production areas. Printers are able to replicate themselves at such a rate that they can expect rapid growth. The proposal uses controlled growth methods to simulate complex development under the conditions of maximum solar radiation. Visual distraction and overheating are also solved by atypical sunsets on the exterior façade. Thin-film photovoltaic panels are used on the sun, so it is able to produce electricity besides the shield. The energy-efficient shape along with the great advantage of the layout solution, instead of the corridor disposition, is a basic cell on the central plan view. This makes it possible to control and operate more of the machines more efficiently. The production site forwards counts full robot automation.
