The Amputee
Sedlák, Ondřej ; Sedlák, Jan (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
Cut out the insect body, which in turn draws attention to detail and a separate form object, it becomes a piece of the unknown, futuristic world, who is a snippet of an enlargement of our macrocosm. Statue focuses on the unusual and the idea of the individual and points to a less pronounced nature.
S335
Dostál, Jan ; Rais, Lukáš (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
The Bachelor thesis named S355 takes the form of a large-format metal object. The default material for the sculpture is the construction steel S355, and the sculpture consists of individual interconnected segments that form the resulting shape of a rising circle. The determining principle of the sculpture is the shape and the size of the circle, the motif of which occurs not only in the resulting form, but also in individual segments.
Glitch Sculpture (Time)
Blažek, Tomáš ; Vítek, Jiří (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis encounters the phenomenon of error in digital technologies through a three-dimensional defective object. The geometric abstraction of the error is formed from the remains of a realistically modeled figure. The defect is entered into the production code for 3D printing via algorithms. Emphasis is placed on the applicability of such an algorithm for three-dimensional glitch art. The resulting sculpture thus looks exactly and yet relaxed in the spirit of contemporary tendencies working with error.
DIY technologies in digital sculpture
Váňa, Dušan ; Lukášová, Helena (referee) ; Sobotka, Jiří (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
This dissertation thesis is focused on the search for the presence of DIY (Do It Yourself) technologies in the practice of digital sculpting, from the beginnings of this progressive way of creation to the present. The work, through three thematic areas, answers the main research questions: What kind of technology is or has the DIY phenomenon been represented in digital sculpture? How have these technologies influenced and are influencing the development and direction of digital sculpture? Within the first thematic area, the presence of the DIY phenomenon in the beginnings of digital creation of a spatial work of art is mapped until the moment of constituting the concept of Digital Sculpture, as a designation of this new way of creation. The second area deals with specific technologies of digital sculpture, in terms of technical tools and their DIY alternatives. The development of these alternative technologies and their influence on the gradual democratization of digital sculpture tools is investigated. The third area examines the creative methods of DIY, which have been integrated into the practice of digital sculpture.
attributes of corporeality
Lukešová, Eva ; Bartlová, Milena (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
My thesis titled Attributes of corporeality is a continuation of my thinking on the topic of identity. Now I approach identity as a category, not as an identity that belongs to a particular person. I consider the question of how is identity shaped in a postmodern, globalized world and how is it related to corporeality. My answer is based on the reality I know, on the current state of society. However, the intention of my work is above all to express my idea, which is rather a utopian scenario than anything else.
Interventions
Stejskalová, Šárka ; Jezbera, Ladislav (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
In my bachelor's thesis I deal with the landscape and the influence of man on its changes. I focus on the landscape we visit for solitude and peace. I realize that by careful perception, a person's legacy can be found almost everywhere. In my work, I emphasizes places where nothing human happens at first glance, but on closer inspection, escape from society is almost impossible. In purely natural scenery, I find evidence of human presence in various technical buildings, telephone wires, city noise and means of transport, or in tree rowing, or sharp saw cuts and regular traces of agricultural machinery.
COAT
Svobodová, Hana ; Pangrácová, Lucie (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
Although the main topic of my diploma thesis is Kabát, I describe in the introductory chapters of my previous work, because their creation and gradual emergence have been directed towards the final project - Kabát. As part of my sculpture, I concentrate mainly on the possibilities of transforming the human figure, using various classical and non-traditional sculptural materials. The fabric of a selected piece of clothing (in the case of a coat) is reinforced at a certain point in time, which I transposed into the feathered cavity - the coat that you put before you. His work with the "outer envelope of man" in the final passage of the text corresponds to the work of Czech and foreign artists.
