Using High-Level Synthesis for ZYNQ Platform Applications

This work describes using High-Level Synthesis in image processing application. The application is for Xilinx ZYNQ platform. The source code of components for FPGA is written in C++ programming language. For High-Level Synthesis is used Xilinx Vivado HLS tool. In the application are designed and implemented Sobel filter, Median filter, Bilateral filter and architecture for AdaBoost classificator. The extension of this work is implemented the component for network traffic. The component finds the begin of the packet.
Extension Module with Bluetooth Communication Interface

FITkit is used by students wishing to obtain a deeper knowledge of hardware and programming embedded systems. However, there are still many ways to improve properties of FITkit, such as wireless communication. One of the most common ways to implement wireless communication is via Bluetooth. Thanks to module, that was designed, students can gain new experience, which later will be able to apply.

This master's thesis deals with a parallel design of the program and a technical equipment of embedded systems. It involves both a general description of the whole process and an illustration of the design, a simulation and implementation of the FIR filter. It also includes a description of the proposed program Polis and the simulation system Ptolemy. The conclusion of the project is devoted to a generation of simulation models in VHDL language incl. a subsequent synthesis.

GPS for Teaching HW/SW Platform

The work deals with a connection between HW/SW platform FITkit and GPS device. Introduces GPS systems from theoretical and practical view desribes FITkit teaching platform and its common use and shows in detail the connection of those two systems into a cooperative unit. Work also analyses communication interfaces and protocols used for that connection. Finally it provides a description of tho whole system data flow from the very beginning in GPS unit to the final displaying on the screen and description of implementation and application usage.

Java Byte-Code Interpreter for FITKit Platform

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to design and implement the Java bytecode interpreter for FITkit platform. At first is analyzed issues of Java programming language, especially properties of portable Byte-Code and Java Virtual Machine. The study also describes the MSP430 microcontroller from Texas Instruments. The result of bachelor's thesis is the interpreter written in C for microprocessor and  application for PC that provides compilation and loading Byte-Code with serial port to the device FITkit. At the end of the work are presented some demonstration applications written in Java that use FITkit peripherals or FPGA to accelerate calculations.
