Psychological changes which occur during survival training
Pospíšil, Jiří ; Doležel, Martin (advisor) ; Chalupová, Eva (referee)
Title Psychological Changes which Occur during Survival Training The objective of the thesis My thesis aims to examine the influence of survival training on the mental state of the participants. Another objective was to assess the extent to which each of the factors in the POMS questionnaire affects the mental state of the participants. Among others, age, number of years in service and experience in relation to these factors were studied. Method The thesis is approached as a pilot study. A questionnaire was framed and divided into two parts. The first one, in which the respondents answered a set of questions, could be characterized as non-standardized. The obtained data were used as a supplement to the experiment. The second part is formed by a POMS questionnaire in which the respon- dents only stated the extent of their emotions. The obtained data formed a basis for the definition of main factors influencing psychological changes in the survival trainees. The causal relationships between the relevant variables were discovered using a quasi experiment and data were collected through a questionnaire survey. Results The results have proved that it is the experience of the participants that shows the most significant discrepancies with the more experienced participants being more stable in all the...
Utilization of Cone Beam CT for Reconstruction of Dose Distribution Delivered in Image-guided Radiotherapy of Prostate Carcinoma - Bony Landmark Setup Compared to Fiducial Markers Setup
Paluska, Petr ; Hanuš, Josef (advisor) ; Doležel, Martin (referee) ; Podzimek, František (referee)
The purpose of my doctoral thesis was to compare two different styles of prostate image- guided radiotherapy: bony landmark (BL) setup vs. fiducial markers (FM) setup. Twenty-nine prostate patients were treated with daily BL setup and 30 patients with daily FM setup. Delivered dose distribution was reconstructed on cone-beam CT (CBCT) acquired once a week immediately after the alignment. Target dose coverage was evaluated by the proportion of the CTV encompassed by the 95% isodose. Original plans employed 1 cm safety margin. Alternative plans assuming smaller 7 mm margin between CTV and PTV were evaluated in the same way. Rectal and bladder volumes were compared with initial ones. While the margin reduction in case of BL setup makes the prostate coverage significantly worse (p = 0.0003, McNemar's test), in case of FM setup with the reduced 7 mm margin, the prostate coverage is even better compared to BL setup with 10 mm margin (p = 0.049, Fisher's exact test). Moreover, partial volumes of organs at risk irradiated with a specific dose can be significantly lowered (p < 0.0001, unpaired t-test). Reducing of safety margin is not acceptable in case of BL setup, while the margin can be lowered from 10 mm to 7 mm in case of FM setup.
Evaluation of the interlaboratory variability of exaqmination of receptor markers of the breast cancer
Pešinová, Šárka ; Hochmann, Jiří (advisor) ; Doležel, Martin (referee)
Charles Univerzity in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological Sciences Candidate: Bc. Šárka Pešinová Supervisor: MUDr. Jiří Hochman, CSc. Title of diploma thesis: Evaluation of the interlaboratory variability of exaqmination of receptor markers of the breast cancer In this diploma thesis, we are focused on the question of the breast cancer. We chose the bioanalitical access to estrogens and progesterone receptors (ER and PR). These receptors are important for deciding of treatment method. We divided a practice part to two partitions. In the first one, we try to consider statistically a sensitivity of the methods of the diferent laboratories. In the sekond one we comparted the processed records from the hospital Pardubice. In terms of practical part, ER and PR data from diferent scientific intrnational literature were processed and categorized. We were focused to the diference of the amount of patiens, the number of ER (+) and PR (+), on the year of study. In several cases we found even the statistical increasing of ER investigation sensitivity - on the basis of the increasing amount of positive patient. Our other aim was to compare the statistical results of Pardubice imunohistochemical laboratories in by us constructed graphs in term of positivity boundary. We also...
Interstitial Brachytherapy of the Breast and Penis
Pohanková, Denisa ; Petera, Jiří (advisor) ; Doležel, Martin (referee) ; Cvek, Jakub (referee)
Interstitial brachytherapy of the breast and penis Summary Aims: Interstitial brachytherapy (BT) is a therapeutic method with a proven history used in treatment of various cancers. In our work we focused on accelerated partial breast irradiation with multicatheter interstitial brachytherapy (MIB APBI) of early breast cancer due to the high incidence of this disease and on BT of early penile cancer as an alternative to primary surgical treatment. Methods and materials: 1) High dose rate brachytherapy (HDR BT) for MIB APBI of early breast cancer has been used at the Department of Oncology and Radiotherapy, University Hospital and Medical Faculty, Hradec Králové since 2012. Brachytherapy catheters are inserted perioperatively in the time of tumorectomy and sentinel node biopsy. APBI starts on day 6 after surgery. The prescribed dose was 34 Gy in 10 fractions applied twice a day. We evaluated 125 patients with minimum follow up of 2 years. 2) Twenty-eight patients with early penile cancer underwent HDR brachytherapy between 2002-2020. The prescribed dose was 18x 3 Gy applied twice a day. Results: 1) One hundred twenty-five patients were indicated for APBI, 12 patients of these did not receive this treatment (9.6 %) due to adverse prognostic factors in the final histology. In these patients the inserted...
Producing big rage shell
Doležel, Martin ; Císařová, Michaela (referee) ; Lidmila, Zdeněk (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis presents a proposal for the technological process of production of a big rage shell, the semi-finished product of which is a circular roundel made of non-alloy steel DD11. Based on the study part and the subsequent technological part, drawing without wall thinning and with wall thinning is proposed. The drawing is carried out on a hydraulic progressive six operating press PO 400 P with a forming force of 4,000 kN. Cutting of blanks is performed on an eccentric press LE 400 D. One part of this thesis is the design of a tool for drawing without thinning the wall and a tool for the last operation of drawing with thinning the wall. These tools are made of 19,436 steel according to the drawing documentation.
