In the first chapter, United Nations, Millennium Declaration and UN Summit on the Millennium Development Goals are described. In the second chapter, goals and their achievments are analysed. In the third part achievements in selected countries are outlined. Selected countries are Czech Republic and New Zealand. The objective of this bachelor thesis is to describe Millennium development goals and its achievement in selected countries.
Specifications of the South African economy

This bachelor thesis concentrates on specifications of South African economy. It is divided into three chapters. The first one indicates basic features of the country and its history, especially era of the state construction and apartheid. Second part of the thesis focuses on main advantages of South African economy and also on the most serious problems that significantly obstruct faster economic development. The reader will not only learn about mining industry, energy sector, unemployment, poverty, income inequality, crime situation and AIDS analyses, but also trends in these specific areas and comparison with the world. The third chapter presents summary of international trade and international cooperation activities of South Africa. The objective of this thesis is to introduce the development of the most important economic areas to the reader, as well as the country's future prospects.
The importance of the cocoa on the economy of the Ivory Coast

The topic of my bachelor thesis is the importance of the cocoa on the economy of the Ivory Coast. The goal of this paperwork is to describe the cocoa as an important trade commodity and then evaluate internal and external factors affecting the cocoa business in the last years. First part is focused on the history of this commodity and the geographical and historical situation in the Ivory Coast -- the biggest producer of cocoa in the world. The second part desribes the cocoa as an agricultural product and as a trade commodity. The third part continues with analysis of economic development and economic structure of Ivory Coast, from which follows the enormous economic importance of cocoa for this poor country. In conclusion of my thesis the social and economical aspects of the cocoa production are mentionned: child labour, low incomes of cocoa farmers, knowledge of inhabitants or Fair Trade.
International Patent Rights Regulation and its Effects on Indian Pharmaceutical Industry

The purpose of the thesis is to analyse the effects of the international regulation of patent rights on pharmaceutical industry in India and to sum up the implementation of the TRIPS Agreement in India with regard to public health in developing countries. The patent rights regulation under the TRIPS Agreement (which all memebers of WTO have approached) and which has an important impact on pharmaceutical industry in developing countries and availibility of cheap pharmaceuticals in general are described in the first part. How India faced these challenges (introduction of extensive intellectual property rights) - analysis of Indian patent regulation and how local pharmaceutical industry managed to adopt to these changes and what are its prospects for the future is the content of the second part of the thesis. The third part is dedicated to the selected impacts on public health in the developing countries.
Remittances and their comparison with ODA in selected countries of West Africa

This bachelor thesis compares remittances and official development assistance in Ghana and Nigeria. The thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part the reader is familiar with the theoretical definition of remittances and ODA. The second part describes the situation in the area of remittances in Ghana and Nigeria - including the quantification of the flows of remittances. This section also describes the use and transfer of remittances in the region. The last part compares ODA and remittances in Ghana and Nigeria. The comparison is done primarily by quantification of both flows and their impact on the population and economy of the country. The aim of this thesis is to provide the reader some useful information about remittances and ODA in Ghana and Nigeria.
Position of the selected East African countries in the world economy and prospects of their future development

This thesis deals with the position of the selected countries of East Africa in the world economy and prospects of their future development. The first chapter provides basic information about Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda. The second chapter belongs to the most important ones and deals with the historical context. The third part adds some information about the UN approach to the events in this territory. The fourth chapter is devoted to foreign policy orientation. The next two chapters are the most significant ones: the fifth part deals with development of economy and current economic situation, the sixth part discusses foreign trade. The last chapter provides an outlook for the future of these African countries.
The Position of India in The World Economy

The Bachelor's thesis deals with the state of Indian economy, its current and future expected development and position in the world economy. In the first chapter a recent development of Indian economy conditional on adopted reforms and a sectoral composition of economy are described. The second chapter deals with an involvement of the country in international economic relations and especially concerns about trade in goods and services and inflows of Foreign Direct Investment. A concomitant of current development in the world economy is a growing importance of BRIC countries that India also belongs to. The expected development and potentials and risks of further development are described in the third chapter.
Trasnational corporations in the world economy and their impact on developing countries

This paper deals with transnational corporations, their origin, consolidation of their position and above all with the impact of their activities on developig countries. The first part is devoted to general description of globalization, its main aspects, especially transnational corporations. The second part introduces developing countries, their historical development, position in the world economy. Also the influence of transnational corporations in these countries is described. The third part describes particular examples of these companies in developing countries- Shell in Nigeria and Union Carbide in Bhopal, India.
EU official development assistance since the beginning of the global economic and financial crisis

This thesis deals with the European Union official development assistance since the beginning of the global economic and financial crisis. How this crisis reflected in a change in volume of development aid. It describes the attitude of EU member countries to development assistance and meeting the MDGs, to which the EU committed at the conference organized by the United Nations.

The main objective of my bachelor's thesis is through the analysis of needs of african continent and history of cooperation with EU evaluate euro- african relations and focus on benefits but also on deficiencies that result from these relations. By analysing of new form of development policy in particular partnership areas I am pointing out form and adequacy of implementation of new joint development strategy.
