Dairy products in human nutrition, labelling according to czech legislation; consumer information and preferences
Dovolová, Barbora ; Kudlová, Eva (advisor) ; Dostálová, Jana (referee)
This bachelor thesis evaluates the dairy products labelling in the Czech Republic based on the requirements of the Czech legislation. It also pursues consumer's taste preferences, their interest and awareness of the dairy products labelling. The theoretical section mentions the history of dairying and the importance of milk products in human nutrition. The following chapters present individual dairy products and it described their production, labeling and division into kinds. The practical section reveals that the dairy products are labeled in accordance with the Czech legislation. The results are presented in the form of photos and tables (mini photobook). This part also examines whether the adult people interest in the dairy product labeling, how to orient in a range of dairy products and which products they prefer. The product evaluation was carried out in two big stores in Jablonec nad Nisou by using photographs. It was found that majority of companies indicates their milk products correctly. Identified deviations were discovered in the labelling of nutrition declaration or allergens. This is a relatively new requirements but very important. Development of problems of area planning from the point of view public health protection authority
Dostalová, Jana ; Švarcová, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Rödlová, Sylva (referee)
In my thesis I have decided to perform an analysis of issues relevant to the development of zoning and territorial planning from the perspective of a public health protection authority. I think it is important to point out that the legally established approach used to define "supervision" was different in 2000, when the relevant legislation applicable to health protection regulated specific areas of supervision than Act No. 258/2000 Coll., which is currently in force and which determines health risk evaluation process. A part of my work explains the relationship between the evaluation of impacts on sustainable development of the relevant area, the assessment of environmental impacts and assessment of impacts on public health, which are principles that need to be taken into consideration when performing zoning and territorial planning. The current legislative amendment enforced by the Building Act together with the health risk assessment principle (and related evaluation of impacts on public health), provides consistent protection of public interests during zoning and territorial planning. These are activities and measures necessary for the creation and protection of healthy living conditions. The approach of public health authorities towards the implementation of opinions and ideas in terms of...

The trans-fatty acids in subcutaneous fat and in fat content of breast milk as an indicator of their nutritional intake
Dlouhý, Pavel ; Anděl, Michal (advisor) ; Dostálová, Jana (referee) ; Hrubý, Stanislav (referee) ; Zadák, Zdeněk (referee)
Trans fatty acids (TFA) are unsaturated fatty acids, which have one or more double bonds in the trans configuration. Their main dietary sources are partially hardened fats and food products containing partially hardened fats (margarines, shortenings, bakery products, and fast foods). TFA are thought to increase the risk of coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes. These fatty acids have adverse effects on blood lipid levels, increasing LDL-cholesterol while decreasing HDL-cholesterol. Consumption of TFA can also impair insulin sensitivity. High intake of TFA is associated with systemic inflammation, activation of immune functions and endothelial dysfunction. Hypotheses also exist that TFA may have adverse effect on the metabolism of essential fatty acids and foetus development. The concentration of TFAs in subcutaneous fat is a very good indicator of dietary exposure of TFA. This concentration reflects long-term dietary intake of these fatty acids. Levels of TFA in human milk are more variable; however, it is quite simple to obtain a sample of human milk. The purpose of our studies was to determine (a) content of TFA in subcutaneous fat samples from persons with coronary atherosclerosis and from persons with no sign of coronary dinase and (b) the content of TFA in early human milk of breast-feeding women...

The analysis of the impact of the energy performance of a building on rent of the offices in Prague
Dostálová, Jana ; Melzochová, Jitka (advisor) ; Babin, Jan (referee)
The bachelor thesis examines the impact of the energy performance of a building on rent per m^2 of the offices in Prague. The empirical analysis applies the hedonic price method and works with cross-sectional dataset of 296 observations collected during autumn 2015. The results of a regressive analysis show that the increasing energy consumption of the building has a negative impact on rents. Buildings designated as inefficient, which belong to class D and worse of energy performance of buildings, reach 24,8 % lower rent per m^2 compared to similar buildings, which are labeled with class of energy performance A, B or C. Together with some of the structural qualities of the building and the given office space's location characteristics, the energy performance of a building is one of the main determinants of the Prague offices rent levels.
