European Parliament election 2009 in the media agenda of Lidove Noviny and Právo

The diploma thesis named The EU Parliament Election in the Media Agenda of Lidove noviny and Pravo summarizes and analyzes the media agenda that deals with the topic of EU Parliament elections in 2009. The analysis focuses on two Czech dailies - Pravo and Lidove noviny - during the period from 7th March to 7th June. The main research questions of the analysis are how the main agenda news is shaped, e.g. what the main massage of the news is, the main topic of the news deals with and what speakers hold the position in the articles. While dealing with the media agenda, this study uses the quantitative content analysis is a common instrument that could be applied to this type of data. In the theorethical way, the diploma thesis is based on the studies that checked the validity of agenda-setting on the macro-structural level.

"The 'new right' The English Defence League and PEGIDA"

This thesis is aimed at analysing key similarities and differences of the Englsih Defence League and the German-born social movement PEGIDA. Whereas both movements have a common goal, to stop the perceived Islamisation of their respective countries, and Europe as a whole, the means and methods vary greatly. Moreover, it is argued that the followership of said organisations differ in age, social background and motivation. Both organisations are able to exert a certain amount of influence on their supporters, the rest of the society, as well as policy- makers and the political elite. Both organisations have influenced the societal and political climate of their respective countries of origin and also in the countries in the European neighbourhood with links to individuals and organisations in North America.

Die Linke: development, ideology and position in the political system in Germany

This thesis deals with the German political party "Die Linke" (The Left). Die Linke was founded in 2007 by merging two different parties, namely Linkspartei.PDS, which was preceded by the ruling party of the GDR, and WASG, composed of West German activists and former party members of the Social Democratic Party. The opening parts contain definitions of basic terminology and a brief history of parties preceding Die Linke. The following sections deal with how the dual history of the party reflects in its organisation, its program and electorate. The party programs are also used to analyze its key program points and their evolution over time. The party's ideology is also examined. This thesis also deals with the current position of Die Linke within the German party system, in terms of both the voters and election results, and relations with other relevant parties.

This bachelor thesis deals with issues of electronic commerce with a primary focus on customers. On the pieces of knowledge of the theoretical part is proposed electronic commerce strategy, which will improve better services for customers, increased competitiveness, but also improve the promotion and brand building. The bachelor thesis includes proposal of a strategy that will be beneficial not only for e-commerce, but for customers.

Feasibility study of the flood protection measures

This bachelor‘s thesis deals with the assessment and design of flood control measures in the area of Dolní loučky. It uses a combined 1D and 2D numerical model of water flow to perform hydraulic calculations of flood flows passing interest location. Several variants of the calculations for different size heads of n-year floods. Hydraulic calculations were made for water flow Bobrůvka, Libochůvky and Loucky. The results are processed in the form of inundation maps and longitudinal profiles of these flows.

The financial statements in the joint stock company

The aim of this thesis is to describe the process of financial statements in the joint stock company in terms of Czech legislation. The thesis is divided into two parts, a theoretical part discusses the operations preceding the closing of accounting books, the closing ledger accounts and financial statements with focus on respecting the true and fair view of the company and subsequent accounting duties related to financial statements. The practical part follows analysing the steps of the financial statements of particular joint stock company. The whole text is based on real data and demonstrates some situations characterised in the theoretical part.
