Design of test equipment for testing air-cooled steam condensers
Líška, Filip ; Chýlek, Radomír (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
The work is focused on the design of a testing device for testing air-cooled condenser tubes. At the beginning of work are described basic types of industrial air condensers, possibilities of tube types and their materials. A radial fan that will supply cooling air to the wind tunnel is already purchased for the testing device. For minimum and maximum parameters, the basic geometry and state parameters are first proposed. Subsequently, the basic design was tested in the CFD. The result of the first model was not satisfying because the speed field has not been evenly changed to a straight tunnel. For these conditions, several variants have been tested in the second model, and the "blow" on the tubes inside the wind tunnel has been tested for the best variant.
Use of additive technologies (3d print) for the production of turbine components
Vaculka, Alexander ; Chýlek, Radomír (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
In the first part of my bachelor thesis I deal with types of additive manufacturing technologies. Describing principle, technological solutions, bring up some advantages and disadvantages and typical area of their usage. Following part describes chosen turbine components and their mechanical property, shapes, and manufacturing aspects. Last part compares mechanical properties of additive manufactured components with components produced in conventional ways.
Fine particles produced by the combustion process
Bunček, Patrik ; Chýlek, Radomír (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of fine particles. The introductory chapter is focused on the general overview, formation and effect of fine particles on the human body. The following chapters aims to introduce combustion process and use of biomass. The experimental part of the thesis reports on results, evaluation and determination of fine particle formation for different environments and conditions.
Heat exchanger design
Para, Marcel ; Chýlek, Radomír (referee) ; Špiláček, Michal (advisor)
This final thesis deals with the design of the water-water heat exchanger, which is part of the cooling circuit. It contains a detailed thermal and hydraulic calculation. The work also includes a basic construction drawing.
Determination of stability of fuel feeding into boiler
Skalický, Michal ; Chýlek, Radomír (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the determination of stability of fuel feeding into boiler. The principle of the screw conveyor is described at the beginning of the thesis. It is followed by a description of the individual parts of the worm. The second part of the research deals with the properties of the materials transported. The second half of the bachelor thesis is practical. In this section there are experimentally measured values of flow of sawdust and wood chips. At the end, the measured values are compared and evaluated.
Assessment of the measure reducing heat loss residential building
Vašíř, Jan ; Chýlek, Radomír (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
Objectives of this thesis are analysis of measurements to decrease energetical consumption of buildings and efficiency calculation of measurements made to concrete apartment building. Thesis is thematically devieded into for parts. First part is theory determinating baisic therminology. Heat conduction and its meaning for heat loss in houses is described in this part. In second part is described meaning of thermal insulation and contains analysis of market with materials including suitability of materials for thermal insulation and windows. In third part is described house which is examined in the thesis. Last fourth part contains calculation consumption of heat and examines why was not fulfiled assuption of designed savings. Financial calculation of how much money was saved and when the investmen was retruned. In this part is also estimated mass of CO2 gas emited by thermaly insulated house versus state in which house is not thermly insulated.
Design of heat source for heating
Galík, Tomáš ; Chýlek, Radomír (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis was created to apprise of heat sources used in family houses and to design a heat system for a specific house. The first chapter is informational and it describes advantages and disadvantages of individual systems. In the second chapter we design and evaluate each alternative for that house.
Proposals for measures to reduce the heat loss of a house
Faltýnek, Michal ; Chýlek, Radomír (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This Bachelor's Thesis addresses the draft measures for reduction of heat loss in a family house. Research is discussed in the first part. It theoretically describes the subject of heat loss, possible ways to reduce it and it also goes over the materials that are used for thermal insulation. The next part of the text describes the house model that is used to demonstrate the calculation of heat loss according to ČSN EN 12831. Subsequently, several precautions are proposed in order to reduce heat loss and financial expenses. The end of my work covers the return of investments based on the precautions as well as the evaluation of their foundation.
Vortex tube
Chýlek, Radomír ; Škorpík, Jiří (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The purpose of this diploma thesis was to find optimal operational parameters of Ranque–Hilsch vortex tube that would give the best results of temperature separation, and to create a numerical model of the device. Firstly, extensive research of current literature was done and analytical model of the tube was created. Then, the numerical model of the vortex tube was designed using Star-CCM+ software. Afterward, best fitting turbulence model was chosen to do the calculation and optimal geometrical parameters of the tube were obtained as a result of CFD simulation. Then, inlet nozzles for the tube were designed and manufactured. Experimental evaluation of the vortex tube and description of its optimal settings form a substantial part of the project. Finally, the data obtained from the experiment were compared to the results of numerical analysis and conclusions were deduced.
High temperature coatings for gas turbine blades
Chýlek, Radomír ; Brázdil, Marian (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
The purpose of this bachelor thesis is the overview of technology of high temperature coatings for gas turbine blades. The familiarization with properties of individual coatings, their capabilities to increase the blades durability and their resistance to damage and temperature influences are emphasized in this work. The potential of significant increase of gas turbines efficiency using different types of coating and cooling of the blades was evaluated in this thesis. Additionally the individual coating techniques are described and compared. Last but not least, this thesis contains closer description of the state-of-the-art thermal barrier coatings including the characteristics required for the following computing part. The computing part deals with calculation of heat transfer through the blade. The conclusion is dedicated to the future use of the coatings from the author's perspective.
