The benchmarking itself is also implemented in this part. The last part is focused on recommendations to improve the financial and business performance of the company.

This diploma thesis focuses on an evaluation of a performance of a chosen company based on benchmarking with competing companies. The thesis is divided into five chapters. In the first part, the issue is analyzed from a theoretical point of view. In the next chapter, the company THK RHYTHM AUTOMOTIVE CZECH a.s. is introduced, and strategic analysis is performed. The fourth chapter deals with the benchmarking and the final evaluation with SWOT analysis. The last part of the thesis deals with proposals and measures to improve the financial and business situation of the company.

The Performance Evaluation of the Company using the EFQM Excellence Model

The master’s thesis focuses on the performance evaluation of company EXprojekt s.r.o. using the EFQM Excellence Model. The theoretical part of the thesis explains the concept of performance and characterizes individual methods of measuring the company performance. In the practical part of the thesis the company is described, and its current situation is analyzed. Subsequently, the company’s performance is evaluated using the START Model, which is based on the principles of the EFQM Excellence Model. In the final part of the thesis are, based on the results of the evaluation, suggested measures that would increase the company’s performance.

This thesis deals with the financial and commercial evaluation of the performance of the Zemědělský podnik Kvasicko using the benchmarking method. The first part focuses on the theoretical background necessary for solving the given problem. The second part then characterizes the Zemědělský podnik Kvasicko, this is then complemented by a strategic analysis of the enterprise. The following part is devoted to benchmarking the enterprise with selected competitors. In the last part, measures for improving the financial and business situation are proposed.

The first part defines the goals and chosen metods. The second part of the thesis forms the theoretical basis, which forms the foundation for the third part of the thesis. The third part is the analytical part where the financial and strategic analysis and a brief description of the selected company are performed. The last fourth part of the thesis is a proposal to implement the BSC model into the company, which should lead to increase its performance.

The analytical part is devoted to the introduction of the selected company and the evaluation of its performance through the START model, which is based on the EFQM Excellence Model methodology. Based on the results of the evaluation, strengths and areas for improvement are identified, from which proposals for measures to improve the company's performance are based.

The master's thesis is focused on the evaluation of the company's performance using the Balanced Scorecard concept and its implementation into the corporate structure. The theoretical part describes the methods used to evaluate the performance of the company, including the theoretical basis of the Balanced Scorecard concept. In the next section, these methods are used and applied to evaluate the performance of the selected company. In the last part of the thesis, a proposal for the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard method into the structure of this company is developed. Part of this chapter are compiled strategic goals of individual perspectives, interconnection of goals using a strategic map, time schedule of implementation and the risks that might arise during implementation are listed and evaluated.

In the first chapter, I examine the effect of scarcity on sharing norms and preferences. Sharing provides one of few sources of insurance in poor communities. It gains prominence during adverse shocks, often largely aggregate, when it is also costliest for individuals to share. Yet it is little understood how scarcity affects individual willingness to share and willingness to enforce sharing from others, an important ingredient in sustaining prosocial behavior. This is what this paper examines. I conduct repeated within-subject lab-in-the-field experiments among Afghan subsistence farmers during a lean and a post-harvest season of relative plenty. These farmers experience seasonal scarcities annually. Using dictator and third party punishment games I separate individual sharing behavior from the enforcement of sharing norms. While sharing exhibits a high degree of temporal stability at both the aggregate, and, to a large extent, the individual level, the enforcement of sharing norms is substantially weaker during the lean season. The findings suggest that farmers are capable of sustaining mutual sharing through transitory periods of scarcity. It remains an open question whether exposure to unexpected shocks or prolonged periods of scarcity might result in the breakdown of prosociality due to...
