Suspension footbridge across the river

The subject of the thesis is to design a suspension footbridge over a river basin. Three different studies were created for the assigned problem. The suspension footbridge was chosen for the thorough elaboration. The most important part of the thesis is the static solution of the supporting structure. The structure model for calculation of impacts of selected strains including the impact of the footbridge construction was created in computational software Ansys. Assessment and dimensioning was carried out using manual calculation according the principles of limit states and applicable standards.

Support for Fingerprint Authentication

The goal of the thesis is the finger-print authentication support within the Linux operating system and the K Desktop Environment (KDE). Theoretical part of the thesis firstly explains main IT security terms and ways to proof the identity. Secondly it describes biometric systems and types of processed biometric characteristics. Lastly the features of finger-prints, their markants as well as types of scanners used in scanning the finger-prints and ways to analyze the scanned material have been elaborated. Practical solution part of the thesis develops and establishes finger-print management application and plugin for KDM graphics login manager.

New trends in marketing

This thesis deals with influence and possibilities of using social networks in marketing and using relatively new phenomenon of "group buying" or "Tuangou" for marketing purposes. In the theoretical part the thesis deals with the description of these marketing channels and outlines possibilities of their practical application. The practical part of the thesis examines particular consumers, who are targets of these campaigns and their perceptions of marketing campaigns through mentioned channels. The research among consumers is done by an analysis of secondary data and by collection and analysis of primary data through questionnaires and interviews.
