Social market economy in Germany: current situation and future development

After 2 WW was a situation in Germany very difficult. Consequences of a defeat were legible in all spheres. Despite of this situation the German economy was able to recover and in the next two decades showed an economic growth. A significant share on this recovery had representatives of the concept of social market economy and representatives of ordoliberalism Ludwig Erhard, Walter Aucken or Alexander Rustow. In the first chapter I deal with the characteristics and main principles of social market economy. I define main historical milestones of this concept regarding the economic development. With another internal and external changes which inevitably affected German economy, a weaknesses of this system appeared. There were implemented structural reforms, which changed the original concept of social market economy. The second chapter is focused on these structural changes. The last and third chapter deals with current economic situation, which was influenced by the process of globalization and integration of EU. Then in this chapter I describe the current form of social market economy and pros and cons of this concept. The final part deals with future development and sustainability of social market economy.
The tax harmonization and coordination in the European Union at Value Added Tax

The tax harmonization in the European Union is focused on indirect taxes, primarily on value added tax. The value added tax was established as the all-European tax, used for financing the budget of the European Union and it can be found in the taxation system of every member state of the European Union. The tax harmonization of value added tax is taking place since its establishment. The thesis is focusing on the harmonization of the value added tax. The aim of the thesis is to find out the level of harmonization of value added tax on the internal market of the European Union and if there exists the connection between harmonization of the tax and its withdrawal, in other words if the process of the harmonization helps to increase the withdrawal of value added tax in member states of the European Union.
Hong Kong as a trading partner of European Union and the Czech Republic

The diploma thesis analyzes the business partnership between Hong Kong and European Union, with a particular focus on the importance of business activities between the Czech Republic and Hong Kong through statistical analysis of exports, imports and foreign direct investments. The thesis includes a questionnaire survey of Czech entrepreneurs trading with Hong Kong to assess the advantages and disadvantages of Hong Kong as a trading partner of European Union and the Czech Republic, the role of Hong Kong and European institutions and organizations supporting mutual development of business activities and highlight the opportunities for development of mutual not only trade relations to the future.
Free Trade Area between EU and USA

The thesis devotes itself to the free trade area between the EU and the USA as a next (logical) step in transatlantic interrelationship. The aim and the purpose is to mention great relations of both partners with each other from political and economic view. The political background gives trend in relations from the start of the 90's to the present. From economical point of view, the thesis devotes itself to FDI, value of their flows and reasons why they make towards the transatlantic partner. In spite of those relationships there arose and still operate many non-tariff barriers, which limit the fluency of goods, services and capital flows. Moreover, these barriers have in modern history higher position than tariffs and become a huge obstacle during negotiations.
Scandinavian social model and its reactions to financial and economic crisis

Bachelor thesis Scandinavian social model and its reactions to financial and economic crisis focuses on scandinavian social and economic model and its characteristics. Thesis analyses development of social models in Europe and compares these models. Thesis also pays special attention to scandinavian model particularly in terms of social politics of scandinavian countries. This bachelor thesis also studies countries typical for this model such as Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway. At the end of the thesis the scandinavian model is analysed in terms of financial and economic crisis of 2008- 2010 and thesis also studies impact of this crisis on the model and reactions of scandinavian governments to the crisis.
Special economic zones in China: current trends and performance of selected economic zones

Special Economic Zones have been a popular instrument for fostering economic growth. The SEZ's main aim is to attract foreign investors into the country, thus providing necessary capital for economic development. Diploma thesis focuses on application of this approach in China and provides analysis of origin, economic situation and future prospects of these areas. At first, the concept of special economic zone is theoretically defined for the further usage in chinese context. Thesis also offers a comparison with export processing zones and SEZs in India to provide a broader perspective of the concept of special economic zones in the world. Hereafter, the development and performance of SEZs in chinese provinces Guangdong, Fujian and Hainan are presented. Furthermore, the current challenges for the zones to face are identified. Those challenges will be crucial for zones to cope with in order to keep up the pace with today's trend of liberalisation and international cooperation in the worldwide economy.
Deepening the Transatlantic Economic Relations. What will TTIP bring?

This diploma thesis is focused on deepening of the transatlantic economic relations between countries, which form European Union nowadays and USA, since the end of the Second World War until the present time. Result of these deep transatlantic relations on every level is negotiation of unique agreement TTIP. Thesis analyses current state of bilateral trade between EU and USA, with subsequent utilization of three different, but closely interconnected economies of Slovakia, Czech Republic and Germany and their trade with USA, which will be then compared with projected impacts of TTIP agreement on these economies and their trade, GDP and unemployment. TTIP agreement is being presented in detail in this thesis as well its basic draft, motives of both negotiating sides and also the critical topics, which slow down the whole negotiations.
Migration in the European Union after the economic crisis

This master thesis describes impacts of economic crisis on migration in the European Union. It analyzes migration flows within the European Union and from the third countries in the time period between 2004 and 2008. The goal of this thesis is to either confirm or deny the hypothesis: the number of people migrating from the southern parts of Europe to the more economically developed central and northern parts of Europe has increased as a consequence of the financial crisis in 2008. The impact of financial crisis on the intra-European migration is analyzed with a migration potential applied on an example of two countries: Italy and Germany.
EU - Canada relations: will CETA change their character?

The thesis deals with the external economic relations between the European Union and Canada. The aim is to analyze the current state of their bilateral partnership - whether the current tools used by the partners nowadays fulfil their potential of 21st century. The thesis also analyzes the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and its prospective impact on a character of the partnership between the EU and Canada as well its impact from a wider, global perspective.
Starting a business - compared conditions in the Czech Republic and abroad (for example, France)

The main aim of my thesis is to identify the obstacles with which the Czech companies face during establishing a new company on the French market and which obstacles facing French companies on the Czech market. I will compare the ease of entry to these two markets. On this topic I addressed 100 French companies developing their activities on the Czech market and 100 Czech companies operating on the French market.
