Numerical simulation of cardiovascular baroreflex control
Převorovská, Světlana ; Maršík, František
At the IT CAS has been developed the programme for numerical model of the human cardiovascular system including the model of the electrochemical and mechanical activity of the heart and the baroreflex mechanism. The programme has been used to the simulation of the cardiac failure in a consequence of the myocardial hypocontractility.
Systemic compliance effect un failing heart support (mechanical model study)
Musil, Jan ; Pražák, Josef ; Leitermann, David
The systemic compliance changes during singel rotary pump support on a symplified circuit were studied. Thus rotation speed of the supporting rotary pump, frequency rate of the failing ventricle under the changing conditions of compliance of the systemic branch (aortic root) were invesigated. The systemic compliance effect enhances the common flow of the rotary pump and the pulsating supported ventricle.
Loosening of press - fitted pivots
Dobiáš, Jiří ; Höschl, Cyril
If a press-fitted clamped-free pivot is exposed to alternating loading at its free end while the forces act normal to its central axis, a gradual global displacement of the pivot in the axial direction may occur under some circumstances.
Heart failure support in mathematical model with baroreflex control
Musil, Jan ; Převorovská, Světlana ; Maršík, František
The function of the mechanical support in the case of the heart failure in the consequence of the left heart ventricle hypocontractility has been simulated by the numerical model of the cardiovascular system with the baroreflex control which has been developed at the IT CAS.
Damping caused by interaction of limited energy source and vibrating system
Půst, Ladislav ; Škuderová, Alena
Analysis of mentioned interaction proved that it introduces strong damping into vibrating system, which itself has no internal damping. Induced damping depends on the slope of motor charakteristic and on the structure of influenced system.
On the solution of a natural vibration of cylindrical shells in interaction with flowing fluid
Zolotarev, Igor ; Pelletier, D.
The present paper is a contribution to the solution of a natural vibration of circular cylindrical shells in interaction with flowing inviscid fluid. The mathematical model of the studied system contains general boundary conditions of the shell for ends clamped elastically and allows to use the method of solution are based on the [1,2,4,5]. A new more accurately algorithm for calculation of the action of flowing fluid on the vibrating surface of the shell and frequency-modal properties of the studied system there are presented. Obtained results correspond to the earlier calculations of the natural frequencies and its variations on the flow velocities [4,5].
Selected Problems of Hip Joint Alloplasty
Jírová, Jitka ; Jíra, J. ; Micka, Michal
The paper deals with the study of interaction of various types of acetabular cups with pelvic bone using 2-D FE models and applying ANSYS programme and by experimental and numerical research of the cementless acetabular cup - Beznoska type using strain gauge measuring and 3-D FE model.
Critical stress for crack propagation in concrete
Náhlík, Luboš ; Knésl, Zdeněk
Concrete is modelled as a two-phase material. Behaviour of a crack with its tip on the interface between two different materials - hardened cement paste (matrix) and aggregate (particle) - is studied. In contrast to cracks in homogeneous materials the stress singularity for a crack terminating at the interface is of the type r -lambda, where the value of the stress singularity exponent, lambda, is in the interval 0 < lambda < 1. Than classical fracture mechanics theory and criterion cannot be applied. In the paper a new stability criterion is used to estimate the critical stress for the intersection of coarse aggregate particles.
Study of the plastic zone shape and size in the V-notch tip vicinity
Klusák, Jan
The aim is to formulate the stability criterion of V-notch using the study of a plastic zone around the V-notch tip, i. e. determine the critical value of a generalized stress intensity factor HIC in dependence on fracture toughness KIC, yield strenght sigma0 and V-notch open angle 2.alpha.
A model for estimation of threshold values V-notch emanating fatigue cracks
Klusák, Jan
Threshold values for V-notch emanating fatigue cracks are expressed by means of threshold value for high cyclic fatigue crack propagation and the open angle of a V-notch. The conditions of V-notch cyclic stability are formulated.
