Abstract: The aim is to formulate the stability criterion of V-notch using the study of a plastic zone around the V-notch tip, i. e. determine the critical value of a generalized stress intensity factor HIC in dependence on fracture toughness KIC, yield strenght sigma0 and V-notch open angle 2.alpha.
