Okrouhlík, Miloslav
Paper deals with assessment of accuracy, credibility and reliability of results obtained by analytical, experimental and numerical methods within the scope of computational mechanics.
Rudolf Brepta – his life, work and people around him
Okrouhlík, Miloslav
The paper is devoted to life of Rudolf Brepta and to his scientific achievements. A survey of his investigation deeds, dedicated to propagation of stress waves in solids, is presented as well as contributions of his colleagues and co-workers. The analytical methods he used are briefly sketched out and a few typical results are shown
Aplikace apriorních a aposteriorních odhadů chyb k dosažení přesného řešení nestlačitelného proudění pomocí MKP
Burda, P. ; Novotný, Jaroslav ; Šístek, J.
One of the open problems in fluid dynamics we deal with is reliable modelling of flows in channels with abrupt changes of the diameter. The goal of this work is to construct the FEM solution in the vicinity of these corners as precise as desired. The first approach makes use of aposteriori error estimates of the FEM solution. The second approach uses the aprriori error estimate of the FEM solution based on estimation of the seminorm of the exact solution by means of the asymptotic behaviour of the exact solution of the NSE in the vicinity of the corner. Numerical results are demonstrated on two examples.
Aplikace metody BDDC v úlohách lineární elasticity
Burda, P. ; Čertíková, M. ; Damašek, Alexandr ; Neumanová, E. ; Novotný, Jaroslav ; Šístek, J.
Balancing Domain Decomposition with Constrained Energy Minimization (BDDC) derives benefit from the synergy effect between substructuring methods and multigrid approaches to preconditioning. It has been shown in several studies, that this method posseses very good properties and is competitive with FETI and FETI-DP methods, which could be mentioned among leading algorithms in the field of unstructured meshes decomposition for solving partial differential equations.
Stabilizace MKP pro vazkou nestlačitelnou tekutinu modifikovanou metodou GLS
Burda, P. ; Novotný, Jaroslav ; Šístek, J.
We deal with 2D flows of incompressible viscous fluid with higher Reynolds numbers. Galerkin Least Squares technique of stabilization of the finite element method is investigated and its modification is described. A number of numerical results is presented. Positive as well as negative properties of stabilization are discussed.
