Multifunctional building in Brno - Líšeň
Gracová, Michaela ; Šubrt, Jan (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor) ; Bantová, Sylva (advisor)
The main aim of this Bachelor's thesis was to create multifunctional building in Brno - Líšeň. The plot is located in the cadastre unit Líšeň on sloping land which is accessible from the northern road with heavy traffic - Novolíšeňská. The nearby area is mostly filled with residential buildings, panel residential buildings from the '80s of the 20th century and family houses, though in a smaller extent. Condition of design was to choose an appropriate combination of housing and services. The goal of design was to create an attractive building for the current market and not to disrupt existing buildings. Therefore, a simple shape of the object was chosen using modern materials and components. The building is characterized by a combination of two main materials that are concrete and wood. Another important factor for the design was the southern slope that makes a possibility to use views on the city and the sunlight for living quarters. This five-storey building is divided into residential part, part of the services and technical facilities. Open commercial space with facilities are situated in the first floor. From second to fourth above-ground floors consist of a housing units. The technical facilities and other spaces belonging to the residential part are located in the basement of the building. The individual functional units are defined by volume and material. Commercial space opens to the public through a glass facade. The residential part is coated in sleek cement-gray color accompanied by wooden windows. Technical basement is hidden behind a dark gray facade as supporting structure of the first floor. The central element of the building are concrete stairs. Its dominant part is atypical wooden railing. The whole staircase is visible from the north side through a glass facade of the entrance hall of the building.

It has a saddle roof. The building is located in the town Horsens. The main idea is to design the building which does not disturb surrounding buildings. That is the reason why facade and roof finishes are in traditional Danish style. One of the most important parts of it is floor plans. The object has 12 flats. The first floor has wheelchair access.
Townhouses on the outskirts of Brno
Kopačka, Daniel ; Šubrt, Jan (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor) ; Pěnčík, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis follows up on a studio project, that i made in my second year of the bachelor's study, Townhouses on the outskirt of Brno. Labor contains Plans for the building permit and Structural documentation. Area of interest is located in Brno - Li´šeň, on the right side, there's Ondráčkova's street, and an abandoned slaughterhouse on the other side. The main idea of my project is, to create two identical buildings, that will perfectly fit into the land and surroundings. By placing these two, into opposite corners of the land, there will be created a fine corner of Ondra´čkova's street and Zla´manky. At the same time, buildings will create direct and let's say "natural" way to the underground parking lot. People, who will visit park, will also have very usefull noise barrier from both sides. Designed buildings contain three above-ground floors and one underground floor, which connects both townhouses by tunnel. Each townhouse contains a total of five housing units, each one with different size. Designed buildings are installed in a way, to keep balance between modern industry and pure nature. First building is more dominant, so it can define the corner of both streets and the second one is less expressive, so it will fit with buildings next to her. Structurally, the townhouses are designed of the Porotherm system and reinforced concrete structures. The main goal of the work is to create modern housing on the suburbs, which will not disturb close neighborhood.

Monolitic reinforced concrete ceiling constructions are original, as well as staircase. New wooden roof truss has been created because of extension of attic floor.
Multifunctional house in Brno
Liznová, Veronika ; Šubrt, Jan (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor) ; Matějka, Libor (advisor)
In my bachelor’s study I deal with a new building for Multifunctional House in Brno on the Milada Horakova’s street in Brno Zábrdovice. The design comes out from filling the gap on the Milada Horáková street, urbanist regulatives, and the needs of people living in this part of the city. The object’s form is designed to tie together with both the modern and the secession houses sitting alongside it. My effort went towards using the structural gap to its full potential. The facade of the object is formed by windows and sliding steel blinds which also protect it from the street noise. The object also contains public functions which were non-existing in the area until now: a café and office space. Parterre in the 1st LVL allows the passage to the building’s yard and then continues to the IBC building. The rest of the overground floors are used as housing space. The housing itself is made by flats which space category has been chosen based on the interest of city residents.
Condominium Hlinky in the city centre of Brno
Tomický, Ondřej ; Šubrt, Jan (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor) ; Hradil, Dušan (advisor)
In my bachelor thesis I further develop the architectural design I worked out during the fifth semester, at the subject AG034. My work was led by Ing. arch. Marcela Uřídilová. Now, I have elaborated the study led by doc. Ing. arch. Juraj Dulenčín, Ph.D., and Ing. Dušan Hradil, on the level of Documentation for building permit, and subsequently on the level of Documentation for Construction Execution. The theme of this work is the design of a multifunctional town house in a gap site between two existing buildings in Hlinky street in Brno. The 9.4-meter-wide gap is in a street with terraced houses, right next to the public transport stop, opposite the main entrance to the Brno Exhibition Center. The house has one basement and five above-ground floors, is based on a foundation slab and finished with a flat roof. It has a longitudinal wall construction system; the load is transmitted by reinforced concrete monolithic walls and ceilings. The house creates a height transition between both adjoining buildings. In the basement is located the technical facilities of the whole building, on the ground floor there is the main and secondary entrance, entrance for cars and the access to the parking stackers with eight parking places. On the 2nd floor is located a studio and office with a common hall. The 3rd, 4th and 5th floors contains two luxury maisonettes. The common partition between both apartments is located on the 4th floor. Across the entire height of the house pervades the inner core of vertical routes - staircase and elevator. The main mass of the house is aligned between adjoining buildings. On the south side, the last fifth floor is lightly indented from the street. On the north side, a mass of the space parking protrudes from the main mass of the building into the slope of Žlutý kopec. Because the building plot is enclosed by adjoining houses on two sides, the only free facades are oriented to the south and to the north.

Gorčák, Lukáš ; Šubrt, Jan (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor) ; Pěnčík, Jan (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the design of a new building for the embassy of the Czech Republic in the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. The work is based on the assignment, which I processed within the semester work. In this bachelor's thesis I deal mainly with the construction of an administrative building with a representative hall. The building has four floors with one underground and three above-ground floors. In the design, I try to connect contemporary modern architecture with the traditions of Ethiopian and Czech culture. The office building is glazed with shading lamellas in the colors of the Czech tricolor. The representative hall, on the other hand, is more robust. It is made of a polygonal reinforced concrete structure, the motif of which was the Ethiopian rocks, in which the original inhabitants created their dwellings.

Apartment resort Velke Karlovice
Kiowský, Filip ; Šubrt, Jan (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor) ; Matějka, Libor (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor’s thesis is a reconstrucion and conversion of two apartment buildings from the second half of the 20th century. The work is based on an achitectural study in the subject AG035 – Architectural Studio 5. The proposed conversion is located in a popular town Velké Karlovice, local part Leskové, in Beskydy mountains. Objects stand in a steep valley of river Vsetínská Bečva, which is followed by a road from Vsetín to Žilina in Slovakia. Both objects share a common gable wall. They have three floors – 1st includes technical utilities, such as cellars, storages and garages. Above this are another two floors, both with two flats, which makes eight flats together. The current low roof truss doesn’t allow full-fledged use. The subject of this work is a design of new use as apartments for short-/long-term living. Therefore is proposed reconstruction of flats and realization of new ones in the attic. On the ground floor will be created a small café. Two new lifts provide easy access. Inner partitions will be built from aerated concrete. Steel sections in building’s envelope will be used to carry loads above new windows. Reconstructed buildings must respect local landscape character. Facades will be white and supplemented by anthracite grey components, including sheet metal roof. There are another two objects intended on the property. Their detailed design isn’t part of this project.
Apartments resort Velke Karlovice
Hašlíková, Adriana ; Šubrt, Jan (referee) ; Dulenčín, Juraj (advisor) ; Matějka, Libor (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the preparation of project documentation for building permits and parts of documentation for the implementation of the building on the basis of an architectural study, which was prepared in the course AG035 - Architectural Design Studio 5 in the summer semester of the 3rd year on the topic of residential buildings. The subject of this study was the renovation of existing buildings and the construction of new buildings to create an apartment resort. The land in question is located in the municipality of Velké Karlovice in the Zlín Region. The concept of the architectural solution was to preserve as much of the existing buildings as possible, simplify their appearance, adapt the existing layout to the investor's requirements. The supporting system of the existing buildings and their shape is therefore preserved. In the design of the 1st floor of the building current cellars will be rebuilt into 4 garages with access from the west side, behind which there will be 4 smaller cellars, a larger common cellar (ski room), a lift and a technical room. On each residential floor (2nd floor and 3rd floor) there will be two apartments with 2+kk layout (entrance hall, bathroom with toilet, bedroom, living room with kitchen and dining room) and two apartments with 3+kk layout (entrance hall, bathroom, toilet, bedroom, children's room, living room with kitchen and dining room). All apartments have a balcony from the living room with kitchen and dining room facing west. The facades of the existing buildings will be in a shade of vanilla white. A steel trellis will be attached to the north side and will grow through the greenery to create a green façade. Suitable plants for this purpose are hydrangea petiole, big-leafed understory, climbing ivy and trifoliate ivy. On the south side of the building there will be a front facade made of solar panels. The roofs will be covered with black roof tiles.
