Validation of global forest change detection databases Abstract The main aim of the thesis is to validate selected databases of changes in forest areas based on the analysis of satellite imagery time series in the Czech Republic. For this purpose we are using databases of M. C. Hansen and P. V. Potapov which are mapping the evolution of forest areas internationally. For the purposes of validation, we have proposed a methodology primarily based on historical ortophotographs from 2000-2012, the same time period which is documented in the validated databases. The results obtained were statistically processed, allowing to assess the accuracy of validated databases. At the end of the thesis, we are discussing the causes of identified inaccuracies and presented with recommendations for future improvements of detection of changes in forest areas. Multi-temporal classification of agricultural crops using Sentinel-1 Abstract This diploma thesis aimed on the exploration of the reflective behavior of individual agricultural crops during the vegetation season. Statistical analysis of agricultural crops was carried out on the basis of multi-temporal SAR C-band Sentinel-1 data. The crop's backscatter was observed during the year 2016. Classification rules were made from detected characteristics. Achieved knowledge was applied and crops separation was done. The result of separation was successful in class Maize. Spring and Winter grains was impossible to distinguish. The possible reasons of poor results are mentioned and further improvements are suggested. Evaluation of area and changes of the agricultural land in Czechia 2006 - 2012 Abstract This thesis deals with the evaluation of area and changes of the agricultural land in selected regions in Czechia on the basis of the data from the years of 2006 and 2012, using the available international and national databases of land cover and land use. In the practical part, firstly the compatibility of classification systems of the surveyed databases is compared, then the state and changes of individual classes of agricultural land are analysed on two levels - national and regional - using functions of ArcGIS software. The overall result confirmed the assumption that the proportion of permanent grass cover in respect to agricultural land is increasing at the expense of that of arable land. Certain discrepancies between the results, however, point out different purposes of the surveyed databases and thus differences in their parameters and classification systems. Remote sensing, which enables to determine the real state of agricultural land and its classes, seems to be auspicious. GIS in the passportisation of municipal property Abstract This Bachelor thesis deals with the draft proposal of pasportization of the municipality property on the example of a small village using open source technologies. In the practical part this proposal is applied to a model municipality. In the first instance the municipality's requirements for the content of pasportization are examined followed by the appropriate method of data collection and the process of pasportization itself using the QGIS software. The result of the thesis is the draft for the process of creating digital passports, including the data model and outputs in the form of functional passports. Evaluation of the selected data sources of land use/land cover

The topic of this study is to evaluate data sources from the perspective of the information about landscape they provide to their users. The aim is comparison of thematic content of Urban Atlas database and data from Czech cadastre of real estate in Prague metropolitan region between years 2006 and 2012 with focus at meaning of classification systems used by both datasets. The data are processed by evaluation of thematic similarity and statistical tools which quantify similarity between researched data. Results are further verified by using validation data. Important results are visualized by charts, tables and maps. The areas with high degree of dissimilarity were found using chosen methods and their thematic characteristics were further examined as well as their major causes. It was proved that differences between both datasets are significant and they share certain characteristics. It was also proved that cadastral data are to high extent out-of-date.
