NOx production and elimination content in the flue gas
Čech, Jaroslav ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Hrnčířová, Michaela (advisor)
The Bachelor thesis deals with oxides of nitrogen, resulting from the combustion process. The thesis is concentrated mainly on the description of the emergence mechanisms and on the various measures that are used to reduce their concentration. Part of the thesis is also focusing on legislation in the field of air protection, with the values of the emission limits valid for the Czech Republic and the European Union.
Equipment for testing of thermoelectric modules
Frank, Vojtěch ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
Goal of this thesis is to specify needed upgrades of current aparatus used for measuring parameters of thermoelectic modules, witch was constructed at the Enegry institute of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Brno University of Technology. In this theseis current state of aparatus where reviewed and specifications for updates where made. These specifications where used to create plans for new aparatus. Quality of designed aparatus where verified by simulations made in ANSYS. Plans for proposed aparatus where made.
Natural gas expansion unit
Žáček, Ondřej ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor thesis "Natural gas expansion unit" relates to the problematics of gas pressure reduction from transport network of NET4GAS to the distribution network of JMP Net s.r.o. The thesis consists of three parts. In the first part the reader is introduced to the methods of natural gas pressure reduction, to the behavior and properties of natural gas and to the problematics of pressure levels of the gas pipelines. The second part describes the important segments of the expansion station in Velké Němčice such as the expansion turbine, cogeneration, regulators etc. The third part contains calculation of the most effective operation of the station.
Assessment of investment in heating house
Baláži, Martin ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
Bachelor thesis assesses the ways in which you can reduce the cost of heating a house. After the calculation of heat loss, there are chosen appropriate thermal-insulation applications to reduce heat transmission through the facade, roof and windows of the building. In the next step is chosen more efficient and environmentally friendly way of heating. Return on investments of selected applications, are shown graphically.
Technology for liquefaction natural gas and its use and distributing
Zbořil, David ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Škorpík, Jiří (advisor)
Making of a final thesis is one of the very crucial moments when studying at university. Quality of its forma part is one of the most important criterions for its evaluation. The aim of this paper is to describe individual steps during the process, recommend procedures and create a template, which will make the whole process easier.
Software for inverse heat transfer problems
Reactors and heat exchangers using liquid metals
Kmoníček, Jiří ; Špiláček, Michal (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with nuclear reactors using liquid metals and heat exchangers used in nuclear power plants. Furthermore, a thermal calculation is performed for the selected steam generator. The drawing documentation of selected parts is also included.
Possibilities of using small modular reactors in the heating industry
Duchoň, Jan ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Milčák, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with nuclear energy, mainly focusing on small modular reactors and their possible use in heating industry. The first chapters are focused on history of nuclear energy, explaining key concepts and describing nuclear reactors and their principle in general. One of the crucial topics, covered in the following section are small modular reactors, key examples of SMRs, their wide range of uses and comparison of advantages and disadvantages of this type of reactors. Next chapter consists of introduction to heating industry, description of situation in Czech republic and analysis of Czech heating plants. The final chapter uses acquired information to assess potential use of SMRs in Czech heating industry as a replacement for fossil fuel heating plants.
Lifetime and reliability of thermoelectric modules
Rešiliáno, Tomáš ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Brázdil, Marian (advisor)
The thesis describes the construction of thermoelectric modules used for both electricity production and cooling. Above all, the thesis describes the influences, along with their causes and consequences, that have a major impact on reliability and long-term operation of thermoelectric modules. The thesis further describes the basic quantities with which we can assess the thermoelectric modules and also describes basic methods to measure these quantities. For the purposes of the thesis was conducted an experiment, during which the internal electrical resistance of unused, used and damaged thermoelectric modules was measured. The results were compared with the physical condition and operational history of the measured thermoelectric modules.
Ranque - Hilsh vortex tube
Bábor, Lukáš ; Brázdil, Marian (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
Ranque-Hilsh vortex tube is a device that converts high pressure gas flow into two low pressure flows with higher and lower temperature, than a temperature of the inlet flow. Technically, it is a device of very simple construction, which is characterised by low initial costs, high endurance, durability and low maintenance. Its main disadvantage is low coefficient of performance, compared to conventional heat pumps at room temperature. In the first section of this paper, examples of applications where utilization of Ranque-Hilsh vortex tube is advantageous are given. Afterwards, several theoretical concepts of refrigeration cycles utilizing vortex tube to lower energy consumption are described. The final section of this thesis introduces new geometry of inlet nozzles for improving coefficient of performance of vortex tube. This geometry is then compared to straight tangential nozzles of circular cross-section. During the measurements, surface temperature of the vortex tube with respect to its length is monitored.
