Orthography of Augusta's Summovník
Šmídová, Kateřina ; Dittmann, Robert (advisor) ; Andrlová Fidlerová, Alena (referee)
This thesis presents graphemic analysis of the work "Summovník" by Jan Augusta, based on transliteration of selected stretches of texts. Identified as late as in 2012, the work has not been described yet. The work represents a print of the humanistic period, therefore the principal objective was to find out how two orthographic systems of the period - diagraphic and diacritic - interact. The analysis was divided into several chapters corresponding to the examined features that were statistically evaluated. The interpretation was especially based on two key 16th century grammars of Czech - the Grammar of Náměšť and the "Czech Grammar" by Jan Blahoslav. The transliterated text has been analysed in Microsoft Word 2007 by means of "Find and Replace" with "Use of substitute characters" instrument. The work of "Summovník" in this partially transliterated form can be used as a baseline for preparation of an edition of this work.

Šmídová, Kateřina ; Mourek, Jan (referee) ; Řezníček, Jan (advisor)
This master thesis demonstrates feasibility of identification of small rodents in the pellets of Long-eared Owl {Asio otus) using pelvic bones and postcranial skeleton in biology classes. The first part of the text summarizes theoretical information on mammalian skeleton and owl pellets with in-class activities suggested. The methodology chapter describes methods of owl pellets collection and preparation, and subsequent processing of osteologic fragments extracted from the pellets. A list and relative distribution of small rodent species found during the analysis are included as well as a key for identification of small rodents using skeleton tragments. The outcome of the thesis are four teaching units that were successfully tested by the author on students from eight- and four-year Grammar Schools.
The language of Mexican youth from the point of view of vocabulary
První z nich, teoretická část, studuje především teoretické poznatky související s předmětem práce, tj. slovní zásobu jazyka a vliv cizích jazyků v této oblasti. Analyzuje diatopické rysy zkoumaného jazyka, neboť jazyk mexické mládeže je nedílnou součástí mexické varianty španělštiny, vliv nativních jazyků, především nahuatlu, a vliv angličtiny. Zabývá se také sociolingvistickou analýzou jazyka,...

The graphomotoric progress related to pre-school children with symptoms of hyperactivity
ŠMÍDOVÁ, Kateřina
Graphomotor skills are a set of motoric skills in the field of graphics. Their development is dependent on the overall level of psychomotor development, especially gross and fine motor skills. Hyperactivity means excessive compulsion to perform activities, excessive movements. This is why children with symptoms of hyperactivity are very frequently prone to occurrence of problems in some area of psychomotor skills. The aim of the thesis was to ascertain to what extent the level of graphomotor development influences postponement of school attendance and also how kindergartens handle development of fine and gross motor skills in these. Both aims were fulfilled. The theoretical section of the thesis deals with a detailed description of the problems, attempting to present a comprehensive overview of the topic. The research section is made up of integrated research. Qualitative research took place with the aid of controlled interviews with representatives of kindergartens. The interview was recorded in writing and subsequently analysed and elaborated into tables. The quantitative section of the research was base on gathering of data with the aid of questionnaires and subsequent analysis of the data. The results were elaborated into graphs. There were a total of two questionnaires, one for pedagogical workers and second for parents of children cited by teachers, both anonymous. Those questionnaires ascertained the level of gross and fine motor skills, graphomotor skills and any possible postponement (even considered) of school attendance. Two hypotheses were determined. The research confirmed both hypotheses. It was evident from the results of the research that deficiencies in the development of graphomotor skills in pre-school children are dependent on the development of gross motor skills and coordination and that hyperactive children show greater shortcomings in these areas. This is why development of psychomotor skills should be supported and developed in a targeted manner during pre-school years. This can help to prevent problems with graphomotor skills, especially in hyperactive children.
