Relation between verbal and nonverbal communication in advertisement

This Bachelor's thesis is focused on the relations between verbal and nonverbal communication in advertising. The first part describes a theoretical basis applying to advertising in general, target group and model of effecting recipients by advertising. Attention is drawn to particular parts of heterogeneous communication, which are verbal part (word) and nonverbal part (mainly picture and colour). The second (practical) part contains analysis of eight magazine advertisements belonging to two categories - car advertisements and bank advertisements. The Language of Instructors of Some Leisure Activities

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the language of sport leisure-time activities lecturers. It is aimed to pupils at the first grade (thereinafter ZŠ) and lecturers of kickbox and dance lessons. The first part of the thesis is written in general terms. It comes out from the literature about communication. It emphasizes the importance of pedagogical communication and its effect on the development of education and the cooperation among pupils and lecturers. The second part of the thesis is aimed to use of verbal and non-verbal communication in leisure-time activities.
Analysis of Language Courses for German Speaking Students

8 Abstract This master thesis deals with actual form of Czech courses for German speaking people and it is especially focused on the company courses. Theoretical part describes communication in companies between Czech and German employees and principles of adult education with taking specific features of company surroundings into consideration. In practical part, the courses organisation in selected company and in several language schools is investigated. Further, specific form of courses is described by the lectors and students evaluation. The aim of the thesis is to characterize organisation and implementation of Czech language courses for German speaking people and to define the typical features of these courses. Reading Comprehension of Non-native Czech Language Speakers

(in English) This thesis discusses the methodology of teaching reading comprehension and using text in the process of teaching Czech for foreigners. It is aimed at developing an approach to teaching reading skills in language classes on the basis of contemporary literature on the subject and in offering structured exercises for utililizing this approach. The theoretical section of this thesis offers a complex analysis of the topic, approaches to evaluating text and developing reading competence in the process of teaching. The practical chapter Cvičení a aktivity (Exercises and Activities) illustrates, through example exercises and activities, how to teach particular aspects of reading competence on the basis of types of reading and reading strategies described in the theoretical and methodological framework of the thesis.

The Communicative Approach to Second Language Teaching in Current Textbooks of Czech for Foreigners Jarmila Valková Abstract The general part of the thesis reviews the background, current understanding and key principles of the Communicative Approach to second language teaching with regard to their foundation in the Direct Oral Method. The objective, usual teaching techniques and textbook components of Communicative Language Teaching are compared to the ones used in the Grammar-Translation Method to show the essential difference between the direct and indirect language approaches to language acquisition and their implications for the character of textbook components. The research part of the thesis examines selected textbooks of Czech as a second language which are supposed to epitomise the following tendencies in the area of contemporary writing of textbooks of Czech for foreigners: a) consistent use of the strategies and textbook components based on the Grammar- Translation Method, b) eclectic application of Grammar-Translation strategies and components together with certain features of the Communicative Approach, c) coherent implementation of the Communicative Approach with related techniques and textbook components. Diagnostics of verbal abilities of children from a linguistic point of view

The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of verbal subtests of selected Intelligence tests (Analytical Test of Intelligence, Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children, Vana Intelligence Test and Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children). The analysis focuses on the types of verbal abilities and communication skills examined by those tests, and on types of exercises used in the psycho-diagnostics practice. The thesis concentrates on the tests used for diagnostics of verbal abilities in Czech children who are in the age group of up to 12 years. The theoretical part includes basic terms of the theory of Intelligence and Intellect abilities and basic knowledge of child development. The so called pre-school evolution is the most important period because of the child language acquisition and because of the development of communication abilities and skills at the lexical-semantic, morphological-syntactic, phonetic-phonologic and pragmatic levels. This bachelor's thesis deals with an analysis of Czech text by non-native speaker of Serbian origin. The theoretical part describes the history of foreign language teaching, the theory of language acquisition, and language transfer. The practical part includes an analysis of written and spoken text, paying closer attention to the impact of language transfer on the appearance of errors.
Standard and non-standard Czech in prosaic works by Michal Viewegh

This bachelor thesis deals with standard and non-standard linguistic means in three novels by Michal Viewegh. Novels were selected as follows: Výchova dívek v Čechách, Zapisovatelé otcovský lásky and Román pro muže. Linguistic means found were classified and their function in novels was determined. Classification of non-standard means was done according to summary compiled in compliance with the contemporary stylistics. General description of non-standard level Czech function in the literature was a basis for determination of function of non-standard linguistic means. Basic function of non-standard means in specific novels by Michal Viewegh is the characterizing one. A non-standard level Czech is often used in emotive situations and language of youth. This level of Czech expresses personal relations of speakers to other persons. The development of the manner of advertising after 1989

The Bachelor thesis deals with the issue of advertising, particularly with it is television branch. It covers the time span from 1989 till the present. The first part of the Bachelor thesis focuses on the theoretical findings that cover the history of advertising, the function of advertising and it is goals. Furthermore the typologies of the advertising broadcasts and persuasive advertising are presented. The next sections focus exclusively on the television advertising. The second part of the Bachelor thesis covers the thorough analysis of particular examples of television advertising. The analysis utilizes the findings from the practical part of the Bachelor thesis and it concerns the advertising aimed at dairy products and detergents. In order to make the findings and results easily verifiable, the subject matter of the research comprises only of the examples of advertising that are easily accessible on the Internet. The aim of the Bachelor thesis is the delineation of the lasting but also recently employed phenomena, means and advancements in the advertising, which have an effect on the television viewers. Possibilities of Error Annotation of Non-Native Speakers' Czech

Bachelor thesis "Possibilities of Error Annotation of Non-Native Speakers' Czech" compares annotation systems of selected learners corpora from the perspective of error annotation. For the comparison, two learner corpora were chosen - Czech CZESL and German FALKO. Both corporas use stand-off multi-level annotation model. The paper is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part there is an in-depth description of both of selected corporas and their annotation models. The practical part presents annotation of pupil text processed in annotation models of both corporas. The aim of this paper is to highlight possible strengths and weaknesses of selected annotation formats.
