Rybová, Kristýna ; Burcin, Boris (advisor) ; Šídlo, Luděk (referee) ; Trögl, Josef (referee)
Impact of demographic changes on municipal technical infrastructure in the Czech Republic - case study of waste management Abstract The aim of this study is to quantify the impact of demographic development on the current household production of municipal waste in the Czech Republic and at the same time to compare their influence with the impact of other factors. Based on a literature review and statistical data available for the Czech Republic, a set of 22 explanatory variables concerning structure of population by age, gender, highest education and employment, as well as the size of households, unemployment, purchasing power, population density and basic characteristics of housing was identified in order to explain the production of municipal solid waste, mixed municipal waste and separately collected waste components (glass and plastics). It has turned out that demographic variables, especially the average household size, gender, age, level of education or sector of employment have a statistically significant but rather weak impact on the production of these waste streams. Given that the detailed analysis of the variables indicated that there is a significant spatial variability of these characteristics and that they exhibit spatial non- stationarity, the next step was to analyze the relationship of the...

The indicators in question, their definitions and representative qualities are thoroughly described in the theoretical part of the thesis. In the second part of the thesis the average figures of the indicators from 2005 untill 2011 of all member states are analysed and furthemore each health indicator has been assigned with additional indicator i.e. economic, social or demografic and their mutual dependence have been examined. The analysis did not prove the hypothesis of still existing East - West European division in health care, this is caused by the wide spectrum of dependences between the indicators themselves and the fact that the individual indicators are influenced by other various factors. Kusovská, Marie ; Šídlo, Luděk (advisor) ; Fialová, Ludmila (referee)
The Influence of Military Area on Population Development of the Town Milovice Abstract The objective of this study is to describe population development of the town Milovice, which was influenced by the existence of a military area in its neighbourhood. There were situated several armies during its 88 years history. Each army, especially the last Soviet Army, built many housing units in the area. New residents have been moving into the town since the ongoing building reconstructions started, in the 90s. The residents are mostly young couples or families witch children, which is a typical phenomenon for suburban areas. There have been a significant rejuvenation of the town's age structure, for example in 2008 the average age was 29,8 years. The study is focused on the period of 1991-2008, in which the particular components of population development are described using selected indicators. Their level is compared with the level of the Czech Republic. A finding is being concluded that a high proportion of people at young age in the population of Milovice causes differences in the development of certain indicators, such as the total fertility rate, which was significantly higher than in the Czech Republic. In conclusion, there are outlined possible variations of the town's future population development.

Analysis of work incapacity
Gobyová, Jana ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (advisor) ; Šídlo, Luděk (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse the trends of incapacity for work in the Czech Republic since 1990. These trends are related to the legislative and socioeconomic changes, which are the results of transformation of socialist society towards capitalist society. In this thesis, there are followed three main indicators of incapacity for work. The number of cases of incapacity for work per 100 sickness insured persons, which has dropped since the beginning 1990; the number of calendar days of incapacity for work per 1 case, which has on the contrary increased and the average percentage of incapacity for work, which has oscillated. The performed analyses have proved the crucial effect of sickness intensity (quantum) on changes of the values of mentioned indicators. The effect of intensity has explicitly outweighed the effect of age structure of population. Regression analysis has confirmed the hypothesis of causation of other factors, than only health factors, on the global level of incapacity for work. With respect to obtained information and level of sickness intensity by age and social groups, there is an issue of possibility and manner of reduction of their level, which exceeds the European average.
