Duchovskaja, Věra ; Řehořová, Irena (advisor) ; Krtilová, Kateřina (referee)
In this work I would like to explore classical and technical image as Flusser understands them. The term technical image was invented by Flusser in order to describe the level of the development of the image comparing to the writing. I will focus my attention mainly on the changes in our way of life, mind and perception that were caused by the arrival of the technical image. I want to analyze the changes in the way of our thinking and perception made by the technical image, as well as our approach to the world. I suppose, that this new kind of image changed and considerably influenced the way of life of the western society, because it became the main information bearer. In fact we got very addicted to the technical images that surround us at every step and cause the other way of perception, exceeding human dispositions mainly because of the speed of the information transmission. First of all I will dedicate my attention to the general development of the information bearers and to their influence on the society, in order to create the overall context. Then I will describe more properly the classical image - it's history, perception and means. In the main part of my work I would focus my attention on the technical image. At first, I would describe the general characteristics of all technical images on the...

The diploma thesis will be devoted to the theme of traditional and new media, that are becoming dominates the media world and an important part of everyday life. The text aims to introduce television as a medium that is constantly evolving, as well as the and its audience. Based on this assumption, we will examine television from the perspective of several main media theorists. In fact, there are several basically different views on this medium and its audience. Especially older writers such as Pierre Bourdieu, Neil Postman, Jeremy Orlebar or Guy Debord, have become accustomed to television and the overall medial platform as manipulative and television audience passive. On the other hand, there are also several authors, who see media in progress, digitization and the emergence of new media as new possibilities. We are talking about Pierre Levy, Don Tapscott and Axel Bruns. Between the two opposites are still moving Stuart Hall and John Fiske. Special attention will be devoted to the issue of the gradual development of television as a medium and its audience. Lebedová, Veronika ; Pudlák, Štěpán (advisor) ; Řehořová, Irena (referee)
The thesis deals with the polarization of Czech media landscape after 2013 as a discursive construct. Our topic is the emergence of new media projects, responding to the takeover of MAFRA by Andrej Babis. Three of these are being discussed: Echo24.cz, Reportér and Neovlivní.cz. The thesis aims to describe the discourse of the alternative media, its own representation in current situation. The subject is based on several concepts. First of them is the theory of social responsibility, which is a strong social value despite being quite questionable. Then, we discuss the trend of media ownership concentration and the development of Czech media after 1989, which has come to important changes, such as the change of the overall model of media ownership and the polarization of the media landscape itself. The first part of the thesis serves as a contextual background for the critical discourse analysis. The analysis verifies the hypothesis as follows: Alternative media is defined in opposition to the mainstream and uses the arguments based on the principles of the social responsibility theory to represent its own position, goals and interests. As a result, we found out, that the new projects construct an opposition us versus them as independence versus oligarchization. At the same time, the principles of...
