Signal Detection by Segmental Ionization Detector in Environmental SEM
Černoch, Pavel ; Jirák, Josef (advisor)
The dissertation thesis deals with signal detection by an ionization detector in the environmental scanning electron microscope and utilization of this detector to gain required information in a specimen image. Main interest is focused on the detector containing several electrodes with a varied geometry arrangement and voltages on these electrodes. The detector was named segmental ionization detector. Detection capabilities of the segmental ionization detector were studied through computer simulations and experiments in the microscope utilizing knowledge from a technical literature background. On the base of the accomplished experiments, the segmental ionization detector has been optimized for the secondary electron detection improvement and at another configuration optimized for a high material contrast acquisition of the specimen image. Consideration of benefits of the examined segmental ionization detectors is included in the work.
Method of Voltage Contrast in ESEM
Buchta, Michal ; Černoch, Pavel (referee) ; Jirák, Josef (advisor)
This graduation thesis deals with the problem of voltage contrast in ESEM. The purpose of this work was to verify influence of used detectors in the dependence on conditions in specimen chamber on the size of voltage contrast. With the conditions in specimen chamber we understand pressure and working conditions of signal detection. We used power transistor as specimen.
Dining together in the New Testament church from the collective memory perspective
Černoch, Petr ; Lukeš, Jiří (advisor) ; Kolář, Pavel (referee)
Petr Černoch - Dining together in the New Testament church from the collective memory perspective - Abstract The collective memory is a relatively new method of studying early Christianity that was taken from the humanities, especially sociology. This diploma thesis chose it as its method of studying the phenomenon of dining together, especially in the manifestation of the ritual of the Eucharist in the 1st century AD. In the first chapter, right after the introduction, this work briefly discussed the development of the study of memory from the collective memory of Mauritius Halwbachs with its social roots. He influenced contemporary memory studies through Jan Assmann, who developed his collective memory of the cultural and described its connection to New Testament research. By defining Cultural Memory, he showed strong links in religion between identity, myth and ritual. The work tried to define the terms myth and ritual with which it operates The next chapter deals with the linguistic and literary world of books, where the words of the establishment of the ritual of the Eucharist are located, discusses their structure and references to food or dining together. The work tried to show the view of the collective memory and thus shed light on some places of tradition and the origin of the ritual of the...
2-Oxazoline triblock copolymers with hydrophilic, lipophilic and fluorophilic blocks: from synthesis to hierarchical self-assembly

DOCTORAL THESIS ABSTRACT 2-Oxazoline triblock copolymers with hydrophilic, lipophilic and fluorophilic blocks: from synthesis to hierarchical self-assembly MSc. Leonid Kaberov The focus of this research was on the study of di- and triblock poly(2-oxazoline) copolymers with fluorinated blocks. The synthesis and solution properties of novel copolymers combining hydrophilic, hydrophobic (lipophilic) and fluorophilic moieties into one segmented molecule were reported. The simple synthetic approach which provides an easy way to attach a CnF2n+1 terminal chain to a poly(2-methyl-2-oxazoline)-block-poly(2-n-octyl-2-oxazoline) copolymer was described. Small-angle neutron and x-ray scattering experiments unambiguously proved the existence of polymersomes, worm-like micelles and their aggregates in aqueous solution. It was shown that increasing content of fluorine in the poly(2-oxazoline) copolymers results in a morphological transition from bilayered or multi-layered vesicles to worm-like micelles. The synthesis of poly(2-perfluoroalkyl-2-oxazoline)s is complicated by their extremely low activity in cationic ring-opening polymerization reaction (CROP), both in the initiation and in the propagation due to strong electron-withdrawing effect of perfluoroalkyl substituent. A detailed systematic study on synthetic...

Preparation and characterization of nanoparticles for in vitro cell studies
Hladík, Martin ; Černoch, Peter (advisor) ; Pilař, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with the preparation, characterization methods and in vitro imaging of nanoparticles with great potential for medical diagnostics. A key role in this work occupy nanoparticles comprising a core of calcium tungstate, CaWO4, covered by a natural polysaccharide together serve as a suitable model contrast agent for cell imaging techniques. CaWO4 natural properties such as the absorption of X-rays, natural fluorescence capabilities and capacities for doping fluorescently active lanthanides, makes from nanoparticles suitable candidates for the position of contrast agents for imaging in the diagnosis of oncological diseases. Moreover, by coverage of the inorganic core by natural polysaccharide nanoparticles reach the desired size and the possibility of active targeting to specific or nonspecific interactions with the cell membrane, which are key factors in in vitro cell studies. It was found the most suitable synthesis both doped and undoped core of this model reaching the formation of spherical particles of colloidal dimensions. Doping was realized by red fluorescent trivalent europium, Eu3+ , and green fluorescent trivalent terbium, Tb3+ , and neither of these dopants affected the original crystalline structure CaWO4. In the next stage, these fluorescent nuclei successfully dispersed...
