The theme of the dissertation titled the Centre of Sport and Leisure Time in Brno is a design of a relaxing and sport site „Centrum Lužánky“. The subject of this project is architectonic-city-planning study, which deals with elaborating a concept of a sport centre behind Lužánky in Brno-Ponava. This dissertation contains details of the facility and the area of the current swimming pool Lužánky. The current state of the facility built in 1979 doesn’t meet requirements of visitors and sportsmen anymore. The main aim of this project is the reconstruction of the current fifty-meter swimming pool, a design of a new swimming pool placed under the ground floor of the current building, which will provide space for organizing international competitions, trainings of professional sportsmen, etc. At the same time the busyness of the current swimming pools would be lowered by building a new indoor and outdoor waterpark, especially for the group of recreational visitors. The attractiveness of the facility will be increased by the newly designed park relaxing area and proposed multipurpose area, used as a sports field in the summer and as an ice ring in the winter. Additional value of the facility is comprised by an indoor and outdoor café and large relaxing area on the roof of the waterpark. The whole area increases the community facility availability by a proposed wide range of services for health, relax and sport. The advantage of the whole concept is the mutual connection of all facilities. The entrance to the area is shortened by a designed pedestrian bridge, accessible from the south and north busy areas. The whole project is enhanced by increased number of new parking places, located particularly along the access road, the street Sportovní, going through a green zone. The project of the Sports and Leisure Centre Brno is dealing with the issue of creating a well functioning sports and recreational complex in Brno. The main subject of this thesis is a modern multifunctional arena with a capacity of 9 800, which is a part of the complex. The multifunctional arena is located alongside the main composition axis, which stretches from West to East through the Rybníček street to the football stadium. The arena contains dressing rooms for the ice hockey home team and visiting team as well as the youth ice hockey teams. The arena can serve multiple purposes and can be used for other sport and cultural events and as a result it also contains backstage areas and large storage rooms.

The cultural and community centre near the Brno dam - the architectural design of buildings for cultural and social and sports events

The design of cultural centre is situated in part Kozia Hôrka( well-known city swimming pool), in its advantage takes natural scenery and calm atmosphere of place. Into action of performance brings a message in form of body of reservoir, function of centre is divided into small parts placed in area Kozia Hôrka. Orientation of objects comes mainly from local natural ispirations. Complex is multifunctional in concept, counts with several sorts of culture - sports events. Whereby the main function of swimming pool is preserved and added for higher comfort of inhabitants. Architecture of objects comes from idea of floating leaf on water level and body of reservoir. Objects stylizely illustrate this idea. The design takes the game of solids of organic and strictly ortogonal shapes. Two mutual opposites, in interaction. Objects smoothy and with respect encroach the environment, which is enough marked by human. Simplicity in used materials ( glass, steel, wood ) give transparency and purity to whole solution.

The main task of the diploma thesis is to use the open areas between the streets Stefanikova, Reissigova, Sportovni and Pionyrská in Brno for creating a multifunctional urban structure with the appropriate functions. Diploma thesis is based on the urban-architectural design created in the previous semester project. Thesis closely addresses the proposed multipurpose building between the streets Stredni a Stankova. In the object is located school of arts, cultural and leisure center, restaurant, café, music club and rentable units. Under the building are designed collective garages.

My diploma thesis is mainly focusing on analyzing the potential of chosen site and it’s possibilities to be used for building a community center. Designed building should serve as a starting point for revitalization of Ponava. It is designed in a way, which makes this building an icon of the whole revitalization process and also is offering a wide variety of cultural events. In a combination with proposed solution for traffic and people flow a meeting point for a wide spectrum should be achieved with designed building as a podium for city life. Office block is then stepping out a bit from this coulisse and is the most dominant part which is supporting the other cantilevered volumes. By doing so, the important role of municipality is captured in the image of the building itself.

Apartment building in Brno

Bachelor's thesis is based on the studio project of residential buildings. The building plot is located on flat terrain in urban area and it is bordered by streets Táborská and Nezamyslova. Currently there is a building, which is intended for demolition. The target was to design a building that will cooperate with the surrounding buildings shape and size. The building follows the street line. The building is composed of three cubic masses. Northern part is designed with four overground floors, southern part is designed with three overground floors and the last part which unites other parts is designed with two overground floors. In the building is space for a cafe and shops.

Water park Brno

Diploma thesis Aquapark Brno is directly connected with the previous specialist course "Sports Center Za Lužánkami Brno". This project dealt was focused on overall concept, architectural and urban study of this area with an emphasis on sports, recreation and relaxation. There was created a zone of predominantly professional sport in the southern part of this area. There were built football and ice hockey stadiums on the newly created terrace/platform. These stadiums are located approximately in the same places as their current (football) or non-existent (hockey) predecessors. The terrace/platform (parking is located under the terrace) continues, and the newly expanded Boby Hotel follows the recreational sports zone with an Aquapark and outdoor sports grounds located behind the existing Tesco shopping centre. There is formed a new park in north of the sports grounds forming a recreational-relaxation zone on the territory of Planýrka. The existing building of a 50 meter swimming pool dominates the area of Aquapark. It was built in 1979 according to the project architect Otakar Oplatek. However this object no longer meets the requirements of today's visitors or athletes. The new building which includes a twenty-five meter tall swimming pool with a background is being added to the existing building. So there is a separable swimming area created here, which can serve both - swimmers and teenagers or professional athletes. There is a good possibility of racing as well. The new building connects eastward to the building of the roofed Aquapark partially hidden beneath the terraces and resting areas. These three through-flowing but mutually separable objects together with the platform define the area of the outdoor aquapark. Diploma thesis Ponava Centre is solving the architectonic study of Leisure centre. Area is situated in locality Ponava – Brno, Královo Pole. Leisure centre should provide its services to wide spectrum of visitors. Those activities does not have to be undertaken just in the building itself, but the idea to develop and utilize for those purposes the public space around it is suggesting itself. The centre is offering the activities for people of all age categories. It can provide the leisure function and also both educational and commercial function. In this spirit the inner space of the object is divided. The basic principle is to group together the three masses according to their most important functions, which are located in the object.

The diploma thesis The Sports and Relaxation Center in Vsetin, Ohrada, is located in the South part of Vsetin, where is currently spartakiad stadium. The area borders are from north-east a highway 1/57, from north-west a river Vsetinska Becva and along the river a cycle route. The south border forms a area of waterworks. The town Vsetin is the meeting and starting point for many visitors from the Valachian. The main goal of this project is facilitate this place, make a place for many sport activities, interconnect the highway 1/57 with a river and cycle route, create a base to leisure activities make a more comfortable and atractiv surroundings along the river. The surroundings built-up area is not compact and the highway 1/57 crosses and defines our area. In front of the enter the area is located a sports hall. The borders between highway and sport places makes a terrain bank, which is in the north part combined with kindergarten, on the south part are located buidldings of temporary accomodation and tennis club. The starting points to cycle route are located near these buildings. Between these buildings are located a sport places, courts, fields, playgrounds with a proper facilities.

The topic of my work was to revitalize, recreate and redefine the recreational and sports area Za Lužánkami. Despite its gradual ruining and poor technical conditions it still has something to offer. Indications of this are constant efforts to refresh sport activities and ambitions to bring to this place its lost glory. The main goal of this proposal was to focus on creating a football stadium, support and highlight its dominance and majesty. Stadium was dimensioned on real usefulness with capacity more than 20 000 spectators. The main element of the stadium is its placing in a rising surface and to create a construction which will be a pleasant attraction with its exterior raising pillars and roof construction from all cardinal points. Football stadium fulfills functions of a modern stadium in all required factors and its placing and connection and fulfills sports hall compliance and recreational area for all visitors and householders.
