Morphological profile of forefoot in school-age children in relation to the volume of physical activities
Bezpalec, Jakub ; Marenčáková, Jitka (advisor) ; Řasová, Kamila (referee)
Title: Morphological profile of forefoot in school-age children in relation to the volume of physical activities Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to characterize the morphological profile of the foot with an emphasis on the forefoot and to identify specific differences between selected morphological parameters of the foot in school-age children based on different volumes of physical activity: significantly physically active, moderately physically active and physically inactive children. A secondary goal is to determine the profile of physical activities performed by children of younger school age and the relationship to selected foot deformities. Methods: The diploma thesis is a scientific-research work and has the character of an observational-descriptive non-experimental study. The research group of the study consisted of school children aged 6-10 years from three primary schools in Prague (average age 8 ±1.2 years, body height 132.8 ±8.6 cm, weight 29.9 ±7.7 kg, BMI 16 .8 ±16.8). The following dependent variables were measured: foot typology, function of the windlass mechanism of the foot, metaphalangeal joint stiffness of the big toe, and forefoot deformities between groups divided by the PAQ-C/CZ physical activity questionnaire. Questionnaire methods, a 3D leg scanner and selected clinical...
Hyperpronated position of the foot in students of classical dance
Vacíková, Alexandra ; Herbenová, Alena (advisor) ; Marenčáková, Jitka (referee)
The main objective: The aim of this bachelor thesis was to find out the frequency of foot hyperpronation among the students of classical dance and to compared how this foot position changes depending on length of study at dance conservatory. Secondary objectives were to compare size of calcaneal angle depending on length of study at dance conservatory and to find out the frequency of valgus position of calcaneus. Methods: Participants in practical part of this thesis were female students of dance conservatory in Prague aged between 11-20. Students were divided into three groups based on the year of study. In group 1 were students from the 1st and the 2nd grade, in group 2 were students from the 4th and the 5th grade, in group 3 were students from the 7th grade. Hyperpronation was evaluated by the Navicular Drop test. Calcaneal angle was measured by the goniometer and the position of calcaneus was evaluated by aspection. Participants who were evaluated as hyperpronators, received to fill in questionnaire which was focused on whether they are aware of the wrong position of the foot. Frequency of hyperpronation was statistically verified by the Chi-square test and frequency of the valgus position of calcaneus was tested by the Fisher exact test. Comparison of hyperpronation, evaluated by the Navicular...
The level of the jump-landing activity technique in senior female floorball players
Lupačová, Michaela ; Marenčáková, Jitka (advisor) ; Vrbický, David (referee)
Floorball is a relatively young, but indeed very popular and dynamic sport. It is known for cutting movements and sudden changes in direction and speed, which can cause strain to the lower extremities. These movements could be compared to those used in jumping activities, such as vertical drop jump (VDJ), where it is necessary to have excellent jump-landing technique, showing good stability of the knee and good neuromuscular control. If the level of jump-landing technique in VDJ is low, it becomes a factor increasing risk of injury. The most common injury in female floorball players happens at the knee joint. Females are more likely to sustain knee injuries than males since their joints are not as stable. The aim of this thesis is to determine the level of VDJ and the dynamic knee stability of senior female floorball players. The theoretical portion contains a brief description of floorball as a sport, its rules and physical demands, followed by research on the knee, its anatomy, physiology and kinesiology, which includes, among other things, its position and stabilization. Factors affecting knee stability help show the disadvantage of women compared to men, describing the causes of poorer knee joint stability and resulting higher risk of injury in women. Closely related to this topic are the...
Assessment of effectiveness of flat foot examination among school-age children in pediatric outpatient clinic
Bezpalec, Jakub ; Kaprová, Jana (advisor) ; Marenčáková, Jitka (referee)
The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to compare the effectiveness of simple visual examination and use of clinical tests in diagnostics of flat feet. Another goal targets mapping the diagnosis of flat feet among pediatricians. Last but not least, I would like to open a discussion on whether it is advantageous to perform clinical tests in a pediatric outpatient clinic. Methods: In this study probands aged 7-11 years underwent a clinical examination of feet (sitting, standing and walking) as a part of a regular preventive check-up, followed by two clinical tests - the Heel-rise test and the Jack test. So as to achieve the objective evaluation of the flat feet, a total of three measurements were performed on the PhysioSensing pressure plate. It is a portable dynamic plantograph that allows the detection of the load on the areas of the sole of the foot and the subsequent calculation of the Arch index parameter. On its basis it is possible to classify the degree of flat feet. The work also included a questionnaire for pediatricians in the Google Forms format that contained 12 questions related to the diagnosis of flat feet. A descriptive analysis was performed. Results: A total number of 34 children were enrolled in the study, 3 did not attend and one participant was excluded from the study....
Comparison of the incidence of flat feet in children in ordinary and forest kindergartens
Špačková, Petra ; Bartlová, Petra (advisor) ; Marenčáková, Jitka (referee)
Goals: The main objective of this bachelor thesis was to analyse the incidence of flat feet in children aged 4 to 5 years in kindergartens and to compare whether there is a difference between the frequency of flat feet in forest kindergartens compared to ordinary kindergartens. The result may indicate whether the kindergarten environment has an effect on the formation of the children's sole. Methods: The following were evaluated for 20 children from ordinary kindergartens and 20 children from forest kindergartens aged 4 to 5 years: plantogram, physical examination, weight, height, foot size, type of footwear - conventional/ barefoot. The plantogram was made using a podoscope from SANOMED s.r.o. and evaluated by the Chippaux-Smirak index (CSI). Statistical processing was done in MS Excel and in the statistical program Rstudio. Results: The results of the study show that children from forest kindergartens have lower CSI, ie. less flat feet (p = 0,0351). The degree of arching of the foot is usually similar on the left and right foot (p = 0,00001). There is no significant difference in the frequency of flat feet in girls and boys (p = 0,9761). No correlation was found between CSI and BMI (p = 0,421) nor between CSI and foot size (p = 0,792). Children with barefoot shoes have lower CSI values than...
Functional changes of the foot by help of the concrete neurological intervention at shool childs.
Marenčáková, Jitka ; Zahálka, František (advisor) ; Řasová, Kamila (referee) ; Vařeka, Ivan (referee)
Title: Neurophysiologic intervention induced changes of the functional foot characteristics in school children. Objectives: The aim of the research was to identify the functional characteristics of the foot in school children selected on the basis of the activity of physical activity in the highest intensity (sporting children) and in the lowest intensity (non-sporting children) and to find out possibilities of influencing the functional characteristics of the foot by targeted neurophysiological intervention. The whole research study was divided into 3 related parts, which were examined separately. The first study aim was an identification of group specific functional characteristics of the foot in 2 groups of school children - actively sporting children and non-sporting children. The second study aim was the influence determination of long-term duration high performance sport activity on the functional characteristics of the school children foot in adolescent elite soccer players. And the aim of the third study was to verify the effect of the targeted neurophysiologic active intervention on the functional foot characteristics in actively sporting children with foot dysfunction of pronated foot and/or flatfoot type. Methods: The research study was divided into three study parts consisted of...
