Breast, cervical and testicular cancer - epidemiology, screening and prevention
Altová, Anna ; Lustigová, Michala (advisor) ; Kulhánová, Ivana (referee)
The main concern of this thesis are breast, cervical and testicular cancer with focus on their epidemiology, screening and prevention. The epidemiological situation in Czechia and selected member states of EU is described by using indicators of incidence and mortality. The first main goal of this thesis is to analyze breast and cervical cancer screening coverage as well as the coverage by regular gynecologist check ups by using data from VZP health insurance company. It has been found that the breast cancer screening coverage rates are influenced by age structure. Cervical cancer screening coverage and gynecologist check-up coverage grow from 2009 to 2017. The other main task was to find out about knowledge of self-examination of Czech young people by using the data from questionnaires from educational programme "Healthy balls". Health knowledge among these students was low. There were found some differences in health behaviour and health literacy between gender and age groups.

Klicperová, Barbora ; Lustigová, Michala (advisor) ; Otáhalová, Hana (referee)
Regional Differences in Healthy Life Expectancy in Czechia Abstract Over the past decade, the health status of the population has also been measured by Healthy Life Expectancy indicator. This indicator covers not only the quantitative aspect, but it takes into the account also the qualitative aspect of prolonging human life. The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate the differences in healthy life expectancy among the regions of Czechia, both in terms of space and time (2009-2014). The introductory part of the thesis outlines the connections of the origin of the healthy life expectancy indicator and analyses the methods of its construction. The theoretical part of the thesis also includes description of sample surveys. To calculate healthy life years, the Sullivan method is used. Data on health status were obtained from the SILC survey. According to the results of the analysis, there is considerable variability between regions in terms of healthy life expectancy. The difference is significantly higher in terms of healthy life expectancy than in the case of life expectancy. A more detailed analysis of the distribution of the healthy life expectancy values has revealed that there is a certain "paradox" of healthy life expectancy in relation to life expectancy, since there are regions where the high...
Social deprivation and its impact on successful ageing in Europe - analysis of SHARE data
Zehnálek, Marek ; Lustigová, Michala (advisor) ; Žejglicová, Kristýna (referee)
The changing population age structure suggest a further investigation of the process of ageing and the quality of later life. Among other affairs higher age is associated with high risk of social deprivation. One way to assess quality of later life is concept of successful ageing. This concept emphasizes health of older adults, and comprises their active engagement in the society. This thesis explains phenomenon of ageing process, population ageing, and late life limitations related with health. The objective is to evaluate impacts of social deprivation factors on the successful ageing. The author of the thesis suggests a set of criteria to determine which respondents are considered as those who aged successfully. Among these criteria belongs self- perceived health, symptoms of depression and limitations in daily life activities. Influence of social deprivation factors on successful ageing was investigated by means of statistical analysis. Utilizing data from SHARE survey, relationship between factors of social deprivation and successful ageing was analysed using binary logistic regression. Results reveal significant influence of social deprivation factors on successful ageing in Europe. In addition of these factors differs in Europe and Czechia.

Jirsová, Karolína ; Dzúrová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Lustigová, Michala (referee)
The health care cost analysis for VZP clients during their last year of life Abstract Objective of this thesis is a health care cost analysis for VZP clients, who died in 2014. An analysis of cost has been approached from a few different aspects, but mainly by segmentation of health care providers and chapters of diagnosis by ICD-10. Following analysis has been also processed in this thesis - the analysis of average health care costs of one day in life and the regional analysis of average health care costs of one client by district of permanent residency with use of a direct method of standardisation. The characteristics of population of dead and living clients have been compared in a same reporting period to fulfill problematics of health care costs. The statistics analysis has been processed in the IBM SPSS software with unique data collections provided by VZP. Keywords: Health care cost, Last year of life, VZP clients, IBM SPSS

The Health Care Costs Analysis of Policyholders of VZP ČR Abstract The main objective of this thesis is an analysis of VZP ČR policyholder`s health care costs in terms of sex, age and regions. The analysis was performed by calculating the average health care cost according to given points of view. The analysis of variance was applied during a research of costs in terms of regions and it examined if there are statistically major differences in costs of health care in each region. There is a theoretical chapter before the practical part of this thesis, which links terms and definitions with medical care and it`s costs. In this thesis there is also a description of the historical development of medical insurance on our territory and an identification of the economic aspects of health care and the medical system. The statistical analysis for this thesis was done in statistical software IBM SPSS and is based on unique data file. The datas from regional analysis were drawn using the program ArcMap. Determinants of the circulatory system diseases among the Czech population
Lustigová, Michala ; Dzúrová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Dáňová, Jana (referee) ; Šídlo, Luděk (referee)
Determinants of circulatory system diseases among the Czech population Abstract The determinants of circulatory system diseases are very well known, modifiable risk factors and factors widely spread among populations are in focus for the public health research. The aim of this thesis is a quantification of main cardiovascular risk factors in the Czech population using the survival analysis and HAPIEE cohort data. The epidemiologic situation, trends in the Czech population health including "the cardiovascular revolution" is discussed in the first part of the thesis. Among the Czech population high prevalence of many risk factors were found. The education had the strongest impact on cardiovascular health from sociodemographic characteristics. The negative effect of smoking, prevalence of high blood pressure, prevalence of diabetes and physical inactivity was confirmed. On the other hand the impact of obesity, binge drinking and high blood cholesterol level was not significant among the Czech population. The population approach in cardiovascular epidemiology and cardiovascular health promotion as well are discussed in the last chapter. Keywords: diseases of the circulatory system, mortality, health transition, cardiovascular health, risk factors, survival analysis, health promotion
Regional differentiation of demografic ageing and amenities in residential care services for seniors in the Czech Republic
Hrušková, Nela ; Špačková, Petra (advisor) ; Lustigová, Michala (referee)
The main objective of the thesis is regional differentiation of demographic aging and amenities in residential care services for seniors at the level of municipalities with extended powers. The age composition of the population in a given territory is a significant determinant of the need for individual types of social services, while the demand for these services is affected by many factors that are discussed in this paper. The findings of the analysis should lead to the identification of regional disparities in terms of location of seniors and the capacity of selected residential social care service and also to detect spatial patterns of these two thematic areas. The main research method used in this work was a statistical analysis. Keywords: seniors, residential care services for the elderly, demographic aging

The main chapter of the diploma thesis is based on the results of this analysis. The aim of this diploma thesis is to demonstrate through the selected indicators of health care their impact on different levels of avoidable mortality. Key words: avoidable mortality, regional variability in mortality, ischemic heart disease, nationa screening program, healthcare system
