Discrimination of people with mental illness in the offices of the CSSA

This thesis deals with the discrimination of people with mental illness in the offices of the Czech Social Security Administration. The aim of the thesis is to answer the research questions asking whether people with mental disorders experience any form of discrimination when applying for disability pension. They look for elements of discrimination both in the behaviour of workers and in the legislative process of allocating disability pensions. The behaviour of workers is explained by using framing theory. The theoretical part describes direct and indirect discrimination, framing theory and the theory of line workers with whom we continue to work throughout the thesis. Next, the procedure of allocating disability pensions is indicated, which gets compared with the experience of respondents in the practical part. The research questions are answered in the practical part through several interviews with respondents with mental illness, who went through the application process for disability pension and with respondents who work as medical examiners in the social security administration. In this part, there is also a discussion which analyses the flow chart, which appeared with all respondents with mental illness. In the end, all findings and answers to research questions are summarized.
Primary healthcare development during the healthcare reform in China and future direction - with experience inspiration from UK

Primary health care (PHC) is an effective way to "optimize and reorganize the health care service system" and solve the "difficulty in obtaining expensive medical services". In the process of China's promotion of health care reform, PHC has been placed at the core part. In this paper, by tracing the history of the development of China's PHC, and evaluating, analyzing and comparing the current similar policies in the field of PHC in China and Britain, a certain understanding of the effects of China's current PHC policies has been presented. What is the life of patients with Epidermolysis bullosa in the Czech republic

The diploma thesis is focused on the topic of Living with patients with rare diseases - Epidermolysis bullosa in the Czech Republic is focused on identifying the role of individual actors involved in financing support for patients and evaluating the significance of their roles. Patients suffering from rare diseases have a very specific situation in terms of financial contributions from the public budget, as their situation is not common. The diploma thesis is focused on the role of public sector actors, the non-profit sector (the role of Debra) and patient families in financing treatment and necessary care. It examines and compares the share of funding support for these individual actors, especially focusing on the share of funding from the public sector and the non-profit sector, where the majority is occupied by Debra, which focuses on supporting patients with butterfly wing disease. The thesis examines whether the role of the public sector in financing is sufficient and how significantly its role is complemented by the non-profit sector. Subsequently, the quality of life and social construction of patients in the Czech Republic is evaluated, as well as the provision of care and financial assistance for their illness. Alcohol policy in relation to youth

This diploma thesis deals with alcohol policy in relation to risk group of youth. The aim of the thesis is to identify the development and setting of this policy in the Czech Republic. Another objective is to identify strengths and deficits of alcohol policy and to suggest possible improvements based on good example of foreign practice and interviews with experts. The theoretical background is the concept of risk behaviour, the life course perspective and the concept of public health. The methods of desk research and expert survey are used to fulfil the objectives of the thesis. This was realized in the form of semi-structured interviews, which were subsequently analyzed by thematic content analysis. The thesis reveals the failures of alcohol policy at various levels. In the thesis are identified functioning and failing institutions and (based on a good example of foreign practices and experts) a new necessary institution is proposed. There are also shown the causes of alcoholism which has proven to be essential in policy-making proces for youth. In the last part of thesis, experts evaluate nine policy measures, the most suitable of them are the regulation of advertisement, availability and price of alcohol. Comparison of Czech and Polish Health Care Systems

The aim of the thesis Comparison of Czech and Polish Health Care System is to compare Health Care Systems of Czech Republic and Poland in terms of several factors. The thesis defines types of both health systems, describes their organization and reforms after year 1989 and defines trends, which can be found in both systems. The key point of this thesis is comparison with focus on their financing, availability of health care and the contentment of patients. Based on this comparison, the author suggests discusses system measures, which could lead to an improvement of the health care in both countries.
Impact analysis of the implementation of electronic health record in the Czech Republic

Healthcare is a highly dynamic industry that currently heavy relies heavily on the use of modern information and communication technologies. The electronization of healthcare aims to increase the efficacy, quality and accesibility of healthcare. One of the essential elements of e- health is a eletronic health record. It is a systematic collection of medical records of patients / population in a digital form. These records may be shared across healthcare providers or other stakeholders in order to utilize the gathered information. Medical records are shared through information systems or information networks. A shared medical record has not yet been adopted in the Czech Republic. The diploma thesis describes the possible effects of the implementation of a electronic health record and provides an overview of current and planned steps of public sector to introduce it. Based on the analysis of the steps of public sector, a separate approach to the implementation of an electronic health record is developed.
Physical activity and sports as an alternative to leisure time spending for children and youth in the era of digital technologies

This master thesis aims on the means of how Czech children and youth spend their leisure time. Great focus is also given to attractivness of the activities. The problem addressed by the author in this thesis is the increasing percentage of the prevalence of childhood obesity in the Czech Republic and it's connection with the increase in technological dependency of children and youth. The main goal of this thesis is to describe whether there is a connection between the aforementioned phenomena. Another goal focuses on ways of spending free time and base on author's own research adresses the attractivness of the activities, i.e. which leisure time activities are more and less attractive for children and youth, what children enjoy in their free time and how they really spend it. For these purposes, the author sets up hypotheses in the thesis, the validity of which is addressed by the research questions in order to achieve the main objectives of the work. The author defines the basic concepts for better orientation in the text which is divided into analytical and empirical parts. Reintegration of people after alcohol treatment into daily life

This diploma thesis deals with an issue of treatment of alcohol dependence and the process of social inclusion of people who have undergone this process. The thesis provides an overview of services and other forms of assistance that are targeted at this group. Attention is paid mainly to the current set-up of the services and assistance system to identify strong and weak aspects of the system. The work is based on a qualitative research. The research was conducted throught expert interviews and interviews with users of these services. Theoretical basis of the work is the ethiology of addiction, which offers various explanations of the origin and persistence of the problem of alcohol dependence. The work also uses the findings of the life course perspective, which allows to map the life trajectories of the interviewees, including the recognition of key events in their lives affecting the emergence and development of addicton. The last theoretical starting point of the work is the concept of social inclusion.
Current Problems of Czech Medical Assessment Service and Suggestions for Possible Solution

The aim of the thesis is to identify all current problems of The Medical Assessment Service and to suggest possible changes and recommendations that could make the system more effective. In the theoretical part is used the concept of the welfare state and points out its crisis of efficiency. Furthermore, the development of the field of Assessment Medicine and its current form was described. In the analytical part was selected an analysis of the information content of documents, which helped to identify all problems and their gradual development. The analysis was also used to propose changes and recommendations. An expert interview was conducted to substantiate the results of the analysis.
The creation and enforcement of psychiatric care reform in the Czech republic

The aim of the thesis is to find and describe important moments that led to the enforcement of the psychiatric care reform. This reform was adopted 24 years after the fall of the communism. Until then, all attempts to change the psychiatric care system had failed. This healthcare segment has long been underfinanced and mainly institutional care prevails. Often, aftercare is not ensured, so it is very difficult for a person who is released from care to be involved in normal life. Also, stigmatization of people with mental illness prevails. Here, reform represents a solution to these and many other problems that the current psychiatry has. This research should answer the question why this strategy was successfully enforced and what was behind it. Using the theory of three currents and interviews with important actors, it discusses the various events and circumstances which have been used by the policy promoters to successfully achieve the approval of the reform. It examines the different motives of actors, their function and roles in the creation and promotion of the reform. The causes of enforcement are sought both in the Ministry of Health itself and in the EU or interest organizations outside the traditional institutions.
