The purpose of this dissertation (Reaction of the Sudetengerman press to the Munich Agreement in October 1938) was to analyse the reaction of the Sudetengerman press to the Munich Agreement and events in the Sudetengerman region which immediately came after the signing of the Munich Agreement. The criteria of the research and the sample of the newspapers were set on the basis of specialized historical publications and the archival origins (Chapters I, II). The hypothesis presupposed that the Sudetengerman newspapers agreed to the new situation in the Sudetengerman region and the Nazi regime. The subject of this thesis - Sports press in Czechoslovakia of late 1980's (published by Olympia publishing house) and its ownership transformation after 1989 - has never been focused on in detail so far. The primary objective of this work is then to describe the sports press published at Olympia, using a historic analysis method, to mention its brief history and its first issuing and to analyze the sports press publishing. The thesis is also focusing on editing activities of individual titles, i.e. the editorial staff financing and a global staff structure within editorial board of sports press. The Press Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Czechoslovak Republic between 1918-1938 : leading, personalities, conception and organization

After serving few hundred years under the reign of Habsburc monarchy the Czech nation was trying to establish itself like a more independent part of the monarchy or like a new and independent state outside from the Habsburc monarchy. Activities of this movement were called National renaissance and it culminated during the First World War at that time led by Mr. Tomas Garrigue Masaryk, who was supporter of independent Czech state formed as democratic republic. The end of the First World War was a big victory for efforts to establish the new Czech state with cooperation with the similar efforts of Slovaks. To support this efforts there was created a new nation of Czechoslovaks and all the claims for territory and new state for this nation were done together with Slovaks. A new map for eastern Europe was laid out in the Paris conference in 1919 and seven new states were established in that conference as independent and democratic, one of them was Czechoslovak republic, usually known under the name Czechoslovakia. The personality of Jan Rys as a journalist and his work at The Flag magazine

This diploma thesis named The Personality of Jan Rys as a journalist and his work in the Flag magazine describes the personality of Jan Rys in all aspects of his life and work. In the introductory part it is set into the historical context where the state of protectorate journalism is described focusing on illegal and collaborant and activistic journalists. Part of the chapter concentrates on subsequent retribution courts. Another chapter focuses on the historical context where the origin and formation of fascism in our country is described and concentrates also on antisemitism in a Protectorate. The main part is focused on the character of Jan Rys, while his work in Vlajka movement is described whose leader he was until 1942, when he was sent at first to Terezin and than to Dachau, where he stayed till the end of war as well as his literature and his journalistic work. In the journalistic work it deals mainly with journal the Vlajka in the period when Jan Rys was an editor in chief, attention is paid to Rys' articles and their focus. A separate chapter analyzes a court trial with Jan Rys and other representatives of Vlajka, the seventh chapter concludes with the judgement of the National Court, which sentenced him to death by hanging.
