Modelling of land cover change in abandoned landscape using time series of aerial photography
Brůna, Josef ; Vojta, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Jačková, Kateřina (referee)
Obsah 5 English abstract This thesis deals with modelling of land cover change in abandoned landscape. The study site is located in the military area Hradiště, around the former village Tocov, it is 2,5 km long and 2 km wide. Due to lack of historical vegetation data on landscape scale, historical aerial photographs were used as a primary source of data. They were orthorectified, mosaicked and automatically object oriented then classified in two categories woodland and grassland. Changes between two successive classified images were modelled with generalized linear models with mixed effects (lmer). Variables that were derived from digital elevation model, former land use and spatial variables computed with algorithms based on cellular automata were used. In order to verify the model predictions with the actual situation and for easier interpretation and visualization of results, a new application PEMZOK (Spatially explicit model of overgrowth of abandoned landscape) was developed and is one of the results of this work. Rapid rate of overgrowth of remaining grasslands was found. The largest observed effect on the spread of trees had the distance to the nearest tree or shrub and density of trees in the vicinity (15 m × 15 m) and the wider neighbourhood (105 m × 105 m). Models with these variables and land use...
Journalistic strategies and the theme of Islam as part of media logic
Drnková Jačková, Kateřina ; Štechová, Markéta (advisor) ; Miessler, Jan (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with restrictive and creative aspects which plays an important role during selection and execution of news about sensible theme of islam. The diploma thesis is devided into several parts. The terms such as media logic, routine and creativity are being described in the theoretical part. The thesis points at the problem of media presentation of islam and muslims. This problematic presentations resulted from both foreign and czech researches. There are also points out the inadequate research aimed at the employes of the redactions as a creators or semi-creators of the media content. In terms of up to date reserach in the redaction there are outlined some options of creative attitude which can influence and change routine practice or focusing of redaction about the selection and processing of the event. The methodology part outlines the research problem and question. It names the investigated redactions and the techniques of data colection and analysation. The thesis extracts from this knowledge even in the research part. It brings better understanding of possibilities of the redaction employees in choosing and execution of news regarding the theme of Islam.
The influence of media logic on the presentation of Islam in newspapers on the example of the Charlie Hebdo terror attack in 2015
Jačková, Kateřina ; Štechová, Markéta (advisor) ; Vochocová, Lenka (referee)
The bachelor thesis is dealing with issue of Islam and its pesentation in the serious journals. The thesis is devided into two parts. It introduces the basic terms regarding medial logic and its concepts. It also dealig with the Islam itself and its history regarding Europe and Czech republic. This first, theoretical part also shows the concepts that are oftenly connected to the Islam. In the second, empirical part, I identify by quantitative analysis how was the presentation of Islam week before and after the terorist attack on Charlie Hebbo in Paris in January 2015 changed. In the quantitative part, I mostly focused on authors of media articles in the journals. With the help of quantitative analysis, by the method of embeded theory to be more specific, this thesis is evaluating several interviews with the authors of the articles. The aim of this work is to have better understanding of what have created the mindset of the author towards Islam and towards final artical in the serious media.
The relationship between plant diversity and diversity of abiotic conditions in Křivoklátsko PLA
Valtr, Vojtěch ; Chuman, Tomáš (advisor) ; Jačková, Kateřina (referee)
The relationship between plant diversity and diversity of abiotic conditions in Křivoklátsko PLA Abstract The relation between plants and abiotic conditions has a great influence for their lives and distribution. In first part I describe influence of individual physical-geographic factors on plant diversity and distribution. These are climate, soils, relief, disturbances and ecophenomenons. In second part we learn about biodiversity gradients. These are size and remoteness of habitats thus island phenomenon, altitudinal gradient and latitudinal gradient. In the next part, I present a place, where I evaluate relation between plant diversity and altitude, slope and exposition. In Křivoklátsko PLA there is 1 543 species of vascular plants. With their distribution in area I found out the highest diversity is in the rivers and creek valleys, especially in Berounka valley. The results clearly say the diversity of vascular plant is in the deep valleys because of river phenomenon. The biggest influence on vascular plant has altitude. Two remains factors don't influence plant diversity as altitude.
