Resign Death
Benešová, Alžběta ; Heryán, Ladislav (advisor) ; Pražan, Antonín (referee)
My goal was to demonstrant how people face death, which is ultimatem definite for everybody, from the beginning. What helped people before and what can help them to design deth. Where they can source strength from. Every religion shares the opinion that people can influence their deth and thein future after deth through the attitude they have to life. It turns out that every religion place emphasis on every human being to live properly and honestly because all his acts has an impact on his deth and the future of his soul after the demise of the body. But emphasis i salso placed on how human cares about deth during early life since he can better realize, where his values are, whether he only exists or lives a full life. Peřinová, Klára ; Heryán, Ladislav (advisor) ; Roskovec, Jan (referee)
The title of my dissertation for my bachelor degree is the Jesus Christ in the Thomas ' Gospel and its comparison with others canonical gospels. The Thomas' Gospel isn't include in the Bible (in the New testament). This gospel is one of the apocryphal texts, which are not written in the Bible. It has gnosis elements. Generally, the apocryphal texts could be written in others codexes or they are written independently. I would like compare the differences between this specific gospel with others gospels, which are written in the Bible. Especially, my specialization is the comparsion the Thomas' Gospel with the John's Gospel. You can find there many differences, but you can find there also a few similarities. It's interesting that this text wasn't included in the New testament. I'm trying to find the reason, why this text isn't included in the Bible. This dissertation explains the special words: canonical gospels, apocryphal texts and gnosis. For this dissertation is also typical comparation with the historical context. Although the Thomas' Gospel isn't a part of the Bible, it could be hopeful and inspirational for human. It could be also useful for people, who help each other. I think that could help social workers to do to their work better. Today, people know mainly the texts from the Bible. The apocryphal...
Al-Andalus and Mozarabs
Jun, Tomáš ; Hošek, Pavel (advisor) ; Heryán, Ladislav (referee)
In my thesis I deal with the question whether we can consider the social system of al-Andalus as religiously tolerant. I represent al-Andalus, the Iberian state, dominated by Muslims of Arab and Berber origin between 711-1492. I focus on the reign of the Umayyad dynasty from the 8th to 10th century called "Golden Age". I want to show on Mozarabes ("arabized Christians"), that the present view of tolerance in al-Andalus is distorted by its own history of myth. I also deal with reference to al-Andalus in the present, both among Christians and Muslims. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Ecclesiastes as an Incentive to Reflection on the Meaning of Life
Hudziecová, Petra ; Heryán, Ladislav (advisor) ; Milfait, René (referee)
Is it possible to find the meaning of life in this chaotic and often incomprehensible world? And in what therefore one can find it? These are the main issues this bachelor thesis deals with. Guide for searching of meaning in this work is the author of the biblical book of Ecclesiastes, who decided to explore what can be explored and will insist on learning how to understand what is the true meaning of human life. Where this sense can be found and where it is not to be found. Bachelor thesis is divided into three chapters. The first discusses who probably is the author of Ecclesiastes, when the book was written and what was and is its importance in Jewish culture and history. The second chapter examines, based on several verses from the book of Ecclesiastes itself and with the usage of other literary sources, in what the author finds the meaning of human life and in what he does not. Finally, the third chapter contains the application of several principles from the book of Ecclesiastes in social work. The method that was used in the creation of this work was exegetical research. In the book Ecclesiastes we can read that the preacher was wise, and he still taught people, that is why his work became a strong incentive to reflection on the meaning of human life. This thesis deals with four biblical passages of forefather Abraham's story (Gn 12,1-9; Gn 13,1-18; Gn 18,16-33; Gn 22,1-19). These parts show unusual courage of Abraham, when he follows God's promise, leaves what is secure and familiar and steps towards the unknown. These steps can be done only with faith and obedience. In the first story Abraham leaves his family and country and sets for the promised land. In the second story Abraham shows his wisdom and gives up the fertile land because he knows that blessing is more than properity. In the third story he boldly argues with God and in the name of justice and compassion he intercedes for the inhabitants of the sinful cities. In the last story he goes through the hardest ordeal when he is to scrifice his beloved son Isaac. Each passage is analysed in order to find and explain the main topics.
