Stratílková, Žaneta ; Dvořák, Tomáš (advisor) ; Pokorný, Radek (referee)
Title of the thesis: Comparison of the strategies of the Czech Republic and Federal Republic of Germany in the development of public administration in the context of the Digital Agenda for Europe by 2020 Abstract: Bachelor's thesis reflects the differences between the strategies for the development of public administration in the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany in the Digital Agenda for Europe 2020. The strategy of the European Union - Europe 2020, which began in 2010 and aims primarily to economic growth and lower unemployment, consists of seven elementary pillars. One of them is the crucial Digital Agenda for Europe 2020. Thanks to these seven fundamental initiatives, the European Union and national authorities of member countries can combine their efforts in various areas, such as innovation and modernization of public administration. Czech Republic followed the other EU countries and actively began the process of e-government to facilitate communication in the relationship citizen - state. Vypracovala: Žaneta Stratílková
Syllable-based compression of XML
Chernik, Katsiaryna ; Dvořák, Tomáš (referee) ; Lánský, Jan (advisor)
Syllable-based compression achieves sufficient results on small or middle-sized text documents. Since the majority of XML documents are that size, we suppose that the syllable-based method can give good results on XML documents, especially on documents that have a simple structure (small amount of elements and attributes) and relatively long character data content. In this paper we propose two syllable-based compression methods for XML documents. The first method, XMLSyl, replaces XML tokens (element tags and attributes) by special codes in input document and then compresses this document using a syllable-based method. The second method, XMillSyl, incorporates syllable-based compression into the existing method for XML compression XMill. XMLSyl and XMillSyl are compared with other XML-conscious compression methods as well as with a non-XML syllable-based compression methods.
Contemporary art after Late Photography.
Czanderle, Michal ; DVOŘÁK, Tomáš (advisor) ; JANOŠČÍK, Václav (referee)
In my work, I would like to close the term "Late photography". Personally, I believe that since the seventies we in the works of many artists find similar documentary strategies that relate to the concept of "Late photography". Currently, there is a certain exhaustion of this concept. For these reasons, I would like to focus on finding artists who suggest a new direction in photography while benefiting from a "photojournalist".
Animal from the Garry Winogrand´s point of view
Tvarůžka, Václav ; DVOŘÁK, Tomáš (advisor) ; Ledvina, Josef (referee)
Work is an introduction to the work of Gary Winogrand and also analysis of the issue of limited possibility of looking which manifests in the particular problem, of impossibility of looking at animal. Work is based on essay from John Berger who concludes this communication problem trough the rise of capitalism and lost connection between human and animal creature. This thing is also connected to the phenomenon of zoological garden. Work is set in this certain context and further it is analyzing the photographs from Winogrand himself and also other authors, which are dealing with affinity problems like for example problem of authenticity (in the photography with the motive of animal), which is represented by Joan Fontcuberta. Or the problem of anthropomorphization (Walt Disney).
Mask, Disguise and Role Play in Worldwide Contemporary Self-Portrait
Helfertová, Žofie ; SILVERIO, Robert (advisor) ; DVOŘÁK, Tomáš (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the role of mask, disguise and playing with the roles through self-portrait in worldwide contemporary photography. In the first chapters it follows the general development of the self-portrait and a brief history of photography and its forms and tendencies from beginning to the present, it is also focused on the mask in general and role of masks and disguises in the history of photography. Main part of this work is the last chapter, which is devoted to the youngest generation of contemporary photographers. In their self-portraits we can follow tendency which reveals use of mask and disguise for change of their identity. However, they do not create a new identity but takes over, or form the illusion of existing already defined identities. The aim of this thesis is to present the mask as an instrument for role play through a self-portrait.
The contamintation level of sediments from water reservoir Orlík by organic and inorganic pollutants
Dvořák, Tomáš ; Száková, Jiřina (advisor) ; Vymazal, Jan (referee)
Due to sorption processes, sediments can retain a wide range of toxic substances, which are transported together with the sediment over long distances from the place of their origin. Dam reservoirs are significant sinks of such sediments and they can be indicative of the overall burden level in surface water of the basin. This thesis works with the assumption that sediments of a valley reservoir can help to estimate the sources and extent of water pollution in the area of interest. The aim of this thesis was to assess i) the level of contamination of bottom sediments in the Orlík reservoir with organic and inorganic pollutants, and ii) the potential impact of individual tributaries on the overall level of contamination of the sediments. In the literature review, the current level of knowledge in the topic of the total contents and speciation of toxic elements and specificities of the behavior of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in water, sediments and aquatic organisms was evaluated. The biological activity and eutrophication potential of sediments were discussed, as well. A total of 34 composite samples of bottom sediment collected in different parts of the Orlík reservoir and its major tributaries were evaluated. Bioavailability of major pollutants was also observed in individual tributaries based on their content in the tissues of mollusks. Atomic spectrometry revealed increased concentrations of As, Cd and Zn in sediments of the Orlík reservoir. Arsenic concentration limits were significantly exceeded at the bottom part of the reservoir from the confluence of the Otava and Vltava rivers toward the body of the dam. Higher level of cadmium and zinc were detected in sediments of the Otava River. The analysis of tissues of bivalves in tributary areas confirmed significant bioaccumulation ability of cadmium. Among others, significant dependence of phosphorus level on the total content of iron and aluminum in sediments was detected.
Revealing the Hidden Symbols and Agendas within Music Videos
