Within the framework of the dissertation the doctorate candidate student will investigate, what are the key aspects existing for measuring the quality of work of the technical supervision during the construction of transportation infrastructure. The PhD student will examine conditions at which the standard way of monitoring and invoicing external suppliers of technical supervision can be abandoned considering a simple count of hours of a supervisor spent on a construction site must not necessarily relate to the quality of his/her work. Furthermore, the PhD student will be analysing whether any of standard supervision activities can be digitalised, resp. robotised. The outcome of these analyses should be used as a background to implement an internal control mechanism for supervisors in entrepreneurial environment. These outcomes can be also applied to public contractors during the selection process of technical supervisors.
Valuing a Distressed Company

The doctoral thesis deals with bankruptcy and its possible solution from the point of view of expert activities. Valuation of the company in distress may be required at different stages of the business life cycle. While sometimes the valuation is requested directly by the shareholders or the managing partners facing bankruptcy (or preventing crisis) sometimes assessment is requested in insolvency proceedings by the insolvency administrator. Whether it is the intention to find out it is more beneficial for creditors to reorganise or liquidate the assets, in all these cases it is the work of experts in the insolvency proceedings who play a decisive role. The practical part of the thesis, therefore, focuses on the selection of appropriate methodologies which can be used at any given moment of crisis management.
Evaluation of economical effectivness of public construction projects

The dissertation concerns on an evaluation of public construction projects efficiency. In the beginning is made the explanation of necessity to monitor the indicators of public construction investment efficiency in relation with possibility of stabilization of public budgets. Afterwards is examined the historical development and the actual status of legislative dealing with investment of public founds into construction projects. Subsequently is made the analysis of available methodology for evaluation of public investment economical efficiency. Within the dissertation was made the survey between the representatives of most important public investors in the Czech Republic. Their attitude to evaluation of construction investment efficiency was examined. The results of survey and good and bad praxis examples are concluded into methodical recommendation and instructions for public investors in order to implement into the decision making process about the public construction projects the evaluation of economical efficiency.
Feasibility Study of Leisure Time River Navigation Infrastructure Construction

This diploma thesis deals with feasibility study of a cruise infrastructure. In the first part is explained principle of feasibility study and its recommended outline. Selected parts of feasibility study are then commented especially financial and economic analysis. This part is followed by explanation of some main terms and description of main differences of evaluating economic effectivity of investment between freighter and cruise. Within the scope of this thesis was also processed a feasibility study dealing with specific investment goal prolongation of navigability of Baťa Canal. The study is divided into individual chapters according to the recommended curriculum. Each chapter deals with different issues related to the investment plan. All findings and recommendations of the study are summarized in the final evaluation.
Communication manual of engineering constructions in urban areas with the public

The objective of the communication manual is to analyze the initial situation in case of the statutory city of Brno and to present specific proposals on how to effectively communicate public construction investments of the city, with a focus on a participatory approach to public administration. The document can serve as a guide for the execution of certain parts of the municipal self-government agenda for the city of Brno at the level of the City Hall and municipal districts. Engineering projects are characterized by their relatively high financial burden on public budgets, the complexity of implementation, and the fact that they often remain invisible to citizens after completion. As a result, they become subjects of controversy. Well-conceived communication on these topics with citizens has the potential to increase the efficiency of public investments.
The eligible expenditure investment projects financed by EU structural funds

This bachelor thesis deals with grants from structural funds EU. These grants are divided by Regionální rada Jihovýchod. It is engaged mainly in an ineligible expenditure and penalties, which were granted to individual projects because of non-compliance conditions. These conditions were set at the contract signatures about getting grants.
Systematic approach to the prediction of the real estate market development

The doctoral thesis deals with the finding of a suitable approach for predicting the development of the residential real estate market, which would also be applicable in the practice of Experts and further develop the appraisal field. It has been found that a delayed multiple linear regression model appears to be appropriate, as confirmed by the verification of this model. The resulting model is also suitable for use in routine Expert practice, thanks to the simplicity of calculation without ownership of any computing program. Expert thanks to the created model is able to predict the development of the real estate market. The result is bound to the accuracy of the input data. All assumptions of regression models have been tested, optimal explanatory variables were selected based on backword regression. The doctoral thesis explains all input data, methods, tests, procedures and detailed modeling.
Subcontract Management in a Construction Company

The aim of this bachelor thesis is the description of subdelivery management in a construction company. The work is focused on a given problem from the perspective of the contracting authority, as well as from the perspective of the subcontractor himself. The text is divided to two parts. The theoretical part explains the given terminology, while the practical part represents a specific construction company and describes various systems used for subdelivery management of the given company. Part of the work is dedicated to the analysis of subdelivery management in a previously delivered contract, followed by my own delivery companies management procedure.

The first part is theoretical, which describes the feasibility study, cost-benefit analysis and criterial indicators serving the financial and economic appraisal. Risk Management of Construction Investment Projects

This diploma thesis deals with a problem of risk management of investment projects in building industry. The first part makes us familiar with basic terms and classification of risks. We continue with the importance and the content of risk management in investment projects. This part includes detailed description of technique of managing risks and describes chosen applied methods in this thesis. In the second part the real investment project´s risk management is designed following the information from the first part. The aim of this real project is building up an administrative building in Ostrava. The important data and the identification of danger was work out for elaborated risk management document. The identified risk was analysed and extended with suggestion of its controlling.
