Merleau-Ponty and the beginings
Urbanová, Kateřina ; Janoušek, Jaromír (referee) ; Šulová, Lenka (advisor)
This work whishes to open phenomenological paradigm in child psychology. It is inspired by the philosophy of Maurice Merleau-Ponty. It, at first, foreshadows his thinking, which is not very extended in czech psychology. So, it discusses the relationship between psychology and phenomenology too. Then it tends to put down how it is possible to understand some aspects of infant perception. The pivotal part of the work is a consideration about the nature of the "beginings" of our life and about how their conception influences developmental psychology at all. We try to find out what gives a fashion and direction to the development of man. Hier, it takes advantage also from others fenomenological authors. The result of this work is summary of the phenomenological view on child and it's development. It suggestes non-privative conception of child and it's world. It couldn't be uderstanded only as an imperfect wolrd of adults. We show, that the task of the other people is rather "to introduce" a child to the world.
Current attitude of adolescents towards motherhood and parenthood
Boučková, Jitka ; Horáková Hoskovcová, Simona (referee) ; Šulová, Lenka (advisor)
knowledge on current attitudes of adolescent population towards motherhood and parenthood as it is, from my point of view, a very current and interesting topic. The theoretical part is focused in details on the evolutionary period of adolescence and its basic characteristics. The paper concentrates mainly on the socialization and influences that affect the formation of the personality and attitudes of an individual during the evolutionary process. I also paid attention to the general issue of creation and change of attitudes. I focused on the family, its function and importance for the development of the individual and on motherhood and parenthood, its biological and psychological aspects. The aim of my work was to monitor the current attitudes of adolescents towards motherhood and parenthood and point out factors that contribute to the formation of these attitudes. I focused on finding possible dependence between the attitude towards motherhood and parenthood and gender, the prevailing educational method in the family and different family backgrounds (complete, incomplete and integrated family).
Volunteering as a possible supplement to nurse's professional activity in infant's and children's homes
Kukačková, Markéta ; Štětovská, Iva (referee) ; Šulová, Lenka (advisor)
Volunteering in Infants' homes is quite a new area of volunteering in the Czech Republic and is slowly developing. The aim of the present study was to introduce and evaluate one concrete example of a volunteer program in the Infants' and Childrens' home for children up to three years in Prague - Krč. This program was started four years ago and its main idea is to find one volunteer for each child in the home who would visit the child regularly at least once a week and who would pay him individua! attention. So every child can ha ve at least for a while o ne adult person only for himself and doesn 't have to share that person' s attention with other children. We were interested in the opinions of volunteers and nurses about this · new program. These two independent groups are the main participants and also observers of this kind of volunteering, so their opinions are important for evaluating the program and also for creating a functional methodology. This methodology is the outcome of this diploma thesis, and could be an inspiration for other similar institutions. Nurses and volunteers agree, that the relationship between child and volunteer develops with regular visits. This can be observed mainly in the behaviour of toddlers older than one year. The children usually look forward to their volunteer's visit,...

Development of language acquisition
Empirickou část jsme věnovali projektu adaptace lexikální části dotazníku CDI do českého jazyka. Sledovali jsme růst a vývoj...

Rigorous work was created as a partial project of longitudinal study "Protection of mental health of persons exposed to provable psychosocial risk in the childhood.u (IGA MZ ČR č.NF 55 79-3). The theme of rigorous work was psychosocial adaptation of 46 persons growed up in individua! foster care. In theoretical part I presented concept of resiliency that deals with conditions of successfull adaptation despite life risks. Theme of resiliency was filled in related concepts and put into relation with concept of risk and theory of deprivation. Extensively I presented three representative original concepts of resiliency. The problem of individua! foster care I put into context with characteristics of family and substitute family care. In practical part I described actual psychosocial adaptation of whole research group, differences between men and women and I compared two groups divided according to score of social adaptation researched in previous study in 1991-1994. I had to follow methodological procedure of whole research, but in spite of that I attempted to get information that testified existence of specific resiliencies althougt I could not prove their causality. From the results followed, that it is very homogenous and highly socially adaptated group representing unique chance to study resiliency....
