Monitoring land cover changes using satellite high temporal resolution data
Indrová, Magdalena ; Štych, Přemysl (advisor) ; Lysák, Jakub (referee)
The objective of this work is to create a base of spectral characteristics of the monitored vegetation types and to create a classification of the land cover. In this work MERIS images obtained by KAGIK were used. Ten different categories of land cover were selected for the study. The spectral behaviour of all categories for the period April - November 2009 was determined. The spectral response of some defined categories (coniferous forests, developed areas) was stable during the year. Contrary to that, significant changes in the spectral response of agricultural crops were observed. The best results were obtained in the categories Forests and Oilseed rape. Finally, the method of Spectral Unmixing was also tested. This method is used when some pixels contain several cover types. Using this method the best result was also obtained in the category Forests. It is evident that the MERIS images can be used for monitoring land cover changes, but because of the coarse resolution only large and homogeneous areas can be studied.
Analysis of long-term changes of vegetation indices
Beránková, Petra ; Štych, Přemysl (advisor) ; Jedlička, Jan (referee)
The work deals with the issue of research of long-term changes of vegetation indices concretely indices NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index). The first part is devoted to detailed analysis of domestic and foreign literature, which deals with the calculation and interpretation of vegetation indices values. The main theme of this work is to explore relation between temperature and NDVI changes and precipitation and NDVI changes over the period 1982-2006. These connections are examined using correlation and regression analysis. Attention is concentrated to the Czech Republic, Central Europe and Finland. The average value of NDVI in Central Europe increased over the study period of 0,0012 per year. The average value of NDVI in Czech Republic increased of 0,0014 per year. On the territory of the Czech Republic increased the value of NDVI in three seasons (spring, autumn and winter). In the summer, in some areas, decreased NDVI values. Correlation coefficients between NDVI and temperature and NDVI and precipitation appeared consistently the highest in the spring. Keywords: NDVI, vegetation indices, temperature, precipitation, Central Europe, Czech Republic
Monitoring of agricultural land by using the satellite high temporal resolution data in Czechia
Oubrechtová, Veronika ; Štych, Přemysl (advisor) ; Jedlička, Jan (referee)
Monitoring of agricultural land by using the satellite high temporal resolution data in Czechia Abstract This Bachelor thesis deals with the usage of the satellite high temporal resolution data in the field of agriculture. Our faculty gains these satellite data from satellite ENVISAT, concretely from spectometer MERIS. The first half of the work contains the theoretical elaboration of remote sensing and electromagnetic radiation and its interaction with land surface. The spectral reflectance of agricultural land and the vegetation index are analyzed in the second part of the work. Keywords: remote sensing, spectral reflectance, Normalized Difference Vegetation Index, MERIS
Designing data model concept for management and organization at the sphere of logistic system
Schubert, Jiří ; Štych, Přemysl (advisor) ; Grill, Stanislav (referee)
This thesis is divided into two thematic parts. The first one targets geodatabes design process. The second section of thesis contains application of graph algorithms over the final data model. The goal of the first section is to design a data model. In the first step of data modeling process all the available data information is organized at the conceptual data model. On grounds of conceptual data model is built-up logical data model. Logical scheme is transformed to physical design of personal geodatabase. Final data model design follows all data modeling rules through the data model process. The goal of second section of this thesis is to realize graph algorithms over the data model. The application of graph algorithms over the network contributes to efficiency of organization and management at the sphare of logistic system. These algorithms will apply through ESRI extension Network Analyst. Functionality of data model will be verified on the basis of this part. Keywords: Geodatabase design, Network analyse Supervisor: Mgr. Přemysl Štych, Ph.D.
3D RECONSTRUCTION OF ABANDONED SETTLEMENTS OF THE CENTRAL POVLTAVÍ
Andrštová, Martina ; Štych, Přemysl (advisor) ; Jaroš, Jakub (referee)
3D reconstruction of abandoned settlements of the central Povltaví ABSTRACT This work deals with the use of Geoinformatic systems to create the three-dimensional model of an extinct landscape. The main subject of this bachelor work is the three-dimensional reconstruction of extinct municipalities in the central area of the Vltava River. The main task was to create digital terrain model of the original Vltava valley. The passage from Zvírotice to Svatojánské proudy has been chosen as the model territory. Two selected municipalities Zvírotice and Živohošť were thoroughly worked up. Many data sources were used in this work, such as historical photographs, historical aerial photographs or current orthophoto maps. Digital terrain models were created with the help of these datas and then the models were overlain with the orthophotos. 3D models of buildings and vegetation were put in the terrain models. Two periods were compared, 50th of the 20th century and present. Results of this work are fly-by animations and perspective scenes. The results will be used in newly built museum in Chotilsko town. Keywords: 3D reconstruction, DTM, land cover changes, orthophoto
Comparison of RÚIAN / ISKN and ZABAGED data with focus on land use / land cover
Štysová, Lucie ; Lysák, Jakub (advisor) ; Štych, Přemysl (referee)
The goal of this diploma thesis is to propose a proper method of comparison and quantification of differences in RÚIAN / ISKN and ZABAGED databases with respect to their specifics, while focusing on descriptive part of the data reflecting land use / land cover. This proposal is implemented using automated means of geographic information systems and the methodology is tested on sufficient number of appropriate areas. The theoretical part introduces with a possibility to compare datasets in general and with the characteristics of the both databases, with focus on their attribute part describing land use / land cover. The practical part consists of the design of comparison, methodology implementation description and testing of the whole design as well as testing of those individual components that influence the result of the comparison. Result of this thesis is a methodology and software (scripts) for comparison of RÚIAN / ISKN and ZABAGED databases.
Spatial analysis of illegal migration in Czechia 2005-2007
Mahová, Eva ; Štych, Přemysl (advisor) ; Schneider, Michal (referee)
Spatial analysis of illegal migration in the Czech Republic 2005-2007 Abstract This thesis deals with the spatial analysis of illegal migration across so-called green border from the Czech Republic to Germany and Austria in 2005-2007. The main data set was acquired from Czech Alien Police Service and Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic and contains also spatial component. For all places of detention various indicators characterizing geomorphology, landscape structure or distances from the closest routes, settlements and border checkpoints are computed. We can identify main aspects related to the choice to illegally cross state borders by merging the database of anonymous personal data of persons detained while illegally crossing the border and geographical data describing the nature of the place of detention. Keywords: illegal migration, GIS, Python, spatial analysis, correlation, regression
