Hataš, Tomáš ; Pavelka, Tomáš (advisor) ; Nečadová, Marta (referee)
Gross domestic product is one of the 4 aggregate indicators of the national economy. One of the methods of calculating gross domestic product is called the expenditure approach. The expenditure method consists of 3 main components: expenditure on final consumption, gross capital formation and foreign trade. The aim of the theoretical part is to clarify the terms of GDP and the individual components of the expenditure approach. The aim of practical part was to answer to the 2 hypotheses. The first hypothesis was to determine whether expenditure of households represents 50 % of total GDP each year. The second hypothesis asked whether expenditure of households contributed to the growth rate of GDP also 50 % each year. Values for the calculation of these hypotheses have been taken from the Czech Statistical Office. It was constant prices, average of the previous year, seasonally adjusted and current prices, seasonally adjusted. On the basis of analysis became the first hypothesis valid and the second hypothesis was not valid.

Households with their consumption and savings play very important role when it comes to right functioning of Czech republic economy. The main goal of my thesis is to analyse the development of households' consumption since 1995, reasons for this development and to predict the future development. To achieve the goal I mostly used data from the Czech Statistical Office. Due to this fact I also defined methodology of index calculations in theoretical part the way the Czech Statistical Office did it. The analytical part contains an analysis of households' consumption according to mentioned methodology and particular reasons for the consumption. In conclusion, I noted the important decisions are being made in consumption and prognosis of future households' consumption based on the development in previous years.

The goal of this Bachelor's Thesis is to evaluate the basic macroeconomic indicators and data of two interconnected economies (Slovak and Czech republic) and their comparison to the common European economy as a whole. The theoretical part defines and describes the GDP, unemployment and inflation, their types and ways of measurement. The practical part discusses the year periods since joining the EU (2004) till now (2010). The main goal is to point to the closing of the "scissors" between the average of EU and our national economies expressed by the purchasing power standard per capita. This indicator shows improvement in the times of growth but also during the recession (even when national economy showed negative results). It is a result of recession not only in our economies but also in the European and world economy as a whole.
