Women in Upper Management: Perceptions of Experts and Female Top Managers

The main objective of the thesis is to examine the current situation of women in upper management at selected companies with focus on the Czech Republic. Moreover, to analyze limitations women have to face on their way towards managerial roles and provide recommendations to future female managers. This thesis consists of two main parts which are theoretical and empirical part. The first part analyzes the theoretical background of terms connected with gender issues, current situation of women in management and leadership style of women. The practical part consists of two further parts. In the first part, interviews with upper female managers from various backgrounds were conducted in order to get the females´ perspective. In the second part, this problematic was analyzed from the point of view of recruiting professionals from Hays Czech Republic.
