Utilization of strategic management tools and techniques
Afonina, Anna ; Kubíčková, Lea (oponent) ; Spáčil, Vojtěch (oponent) ; Světlík, Jaroslav (oponent) ; Chalupský, Vladimír (vedoucí práce)
The aim of this dissertation is to identify and explore the relationships between strategic management tools and techniques and organizational performance. Therefore, at first it was necessary to define the set of strategic management tools and techniques that are most frequently used in current managerial practice among Czech companies, as well as to find a way of measuring organizational performance. Two empirical researches have been conducted: the result of the first research was the identification of the most popular management tools and techniques as well as factors which influence their utilization, namely managerial awareness, satisfaction with them and company size. As a result of the second research, a multidimensional framework of company performance measurement was proposed. Using principal component analysis, four groups of organizational performance outcomes were indicated: financial performance, competitive positioning, customer orientation and organizational integrity. By using stepwise regression analysis, the research confirms that the utilization of strategic management tools and techniques has a positive impact on organizational performance outcomes.
