Stoklasová, Miroslava ; Kaczor, Pavel (advisor) ; Růžková, Eva (referee)
The subject of my Bachelor thesis entitled "Gender on the Labour Market in the Czech Republic - Equal Opportunities" is a description of the functioning of labour markets and the resulting findings, as well as the analysis of the differences between men and women on the labour market in the Czech Republic. In its theoretical part, the presented thesis examines the fundamental causes and possible consequences of the emerging inequalities and it mainly focuses on these emerging inequalities, but not only on managerial (senior) positions. Its practical part contains the research work (in the form of a questionnaire), which investigates the general public's opinion on the emerging differences between men and women as to their opportunities on the labour market. The presented thesis also examines wage inequalities between men and women working on the same positions, in other words it tries to answer the essential question whether men and women in the Czech Republic can really enjoy equal opportunities.
The Life Quality of Males and Females
BUMBOVÁ, Monika
This bachelor thesis dealing with a quality of life should map possible differences in the subjective perceptions of the quality of life for men and women. It also aims to highlight the lifestyle of men and women, which is influenced by different expectations of male and female roles. The quality of life is a very comprehensive concept and it absorbs into itself a large number of aspects of individuals´ life. It is also perceived as a certain satisfaction with the provision of individual needs. Many disciplines deal with that issue (psychology, sociology, philosophy etc.), but despite an effort to capture the complex, there is ambiguity in its definition, mainly because of its multi-dimensional and subjective nature. The theoretical part consists of two main chapters. The fist chapter deals with the quality of life, its historical development, it describes its various concepts, categories and measurements. The second part deals with gender issues, especially a definition of the term ``gender{\crqq}, a conception of the masculinity and femininity, gender stereotypes. In the practical part there are defined objectives, hypotheses; a methodology of the thesis is described here. For the primary data collection and testing of the hypothesis I chose an interrogation method, a questionnaire technique. The data collection took place in České Budějovice district and working age respondents participated in it. The questionnaire was a combination of open, closed, semi-closed questions. The research was conducted in March and April 2009. A total of 260 questionnaires were distributed, 219 questionnaires were returned. 13 of them were excluded for a failure to comply the award. There were two hypotheses stated for the research. The first hypothesis assumed that women evaluate the quality of life more positively than men and the research confirmed the hypothesis. The second hypothesis assumed that men are more willing to sacrifice their leisure time for a career growth than women and was not confirmed.

TESAŘOVÁ, Štěpánka
The diploma thesis deals with problems of employment and unemployment policy from the special point of view: the use of equal opportunity of men and women (gender equality) in the Czech Republic, Germany and the European Union. The theoretical part describes employment, unemployment, promotion of women and men at employment market from the gender point of view, and discriminatory differences in the field of financial evaluation of men and women for the same amount and kind of work. The practical part gives the comparison of the employment policy from the gender perspective (rate of employment and unemployment of men and women) on the basis of statistical information of the member states of the European Union {--} the Czech Republic and Germany. The main goal of this work is to show and emphasize the fact, that some aspects of discrimination in the field of gender relationships at work and in private life still exist even in the present modern society. It depends on all of us mainly, in which way and direction these problems of gender equality will develop in the society in future.
