Use of Information Technology and Internet in Tourism Management

This master thesis deals with information systems used by tourism. Its aim was to map the accommodation reservation systems, describe their characteristics from the prospective of both accomodation providers and their clients and describe the associated business processes. Existing reservation systems on the accommodation market were evaluated according to preselected criteria. A perfect the reservation system was proposed based on the investigation of the characteristics and criteria compliance.

This Bachelor thesis is focused on price quoting issues and describes the method of the discount accounting. It shows how to set a suitable price of a product in its life cycle and also suggests what techniques are convenient to use to find out the behaviour of a customer in the future. In the practical part there is a procedure of planning a new product foreshadowed and also the price strategy corresponding with the product which is based on the product's characteristics gained. The thesis then deals with discounts as a tool of supporting the sale and suggests their proper entering into accounts in the company accounting.
Investment in equities from the point of view of a beginning investor - natural person

The main focus of this thesis is to deliver the basic information for starting investors. In the first part, there is a general characterization of equities as well as a description of disadvantages arising from the ownership. Other chapters deal with an investment strategy concerning the efficiency, risk and diversification. Data collection, investment horizon, inflation together with other fundamental indicators and their influence on investment decisions constitute the second half of the thesis. The last two chapters I devoted to comparison of financial brokers and links to current values of other important indicators.
Pricing in the Czech accounting in comparison with IAS/IFRS

The goal of this thesis is to enter the topic pricing, to distinguish the two main moments of pricing -- pricing at the moment of obtaining and pricing at the day of the final accounts. The thesis summarizes used pricing basis and pricing procedures based on Czech accounting regulation and on IAS/IFRS and consecutively their comparison. In the end there are some practical examples for better illustration.
Marketing aspects of consumer price perception

This thesis focuses on two theoretical approaches from the marketing literature: first, the degree to which consumers tend to associate a higher product price with a higher quality (price-perceived quality relationship) and second, the assumption that odd prices (prices set just below the nearest round figure) generate higher than expected demand at that level. The thesis concludes that there seems to exist an overall positive weak correlation between product price and perceived quality, which is also product/market specific, and that the effects of odd pricing on demand have been mixed and inconclusive. Important managerial implications arise from these conclusions. On the same grounds, an empirical study examines the relation between product price and actual product quality and shows that the relation is actually very weak for products falling into the category of electronics. Lastly, a second empirical study shows that odd prices prevail in the retail sector of the Czech Republic.
Analysis of the perception of incomplete prices of travel packages in the Czech Republic

The thesis deals with problems of price quoting of travel packages in the Czech Republic. It refers to the process of packaging in the theoretical part, as well to various ways of pricing together with calculation illustration and catalogues price strategy. Furthermore, it shows the difference between a company's and a customer's price perception and informs about the psychological price effect on the final consumer. The important part of this thesis represents the analysis of the current situation of the price quoting of travel packages in the Czech Republic in comparison with the situation abroad. Chapters are oriented to the analysis of the legislation in the field of packaging and price quoting of travel packages, of the praxis of Czech and foreign travel agencies and of taking action of interested institutions to solve this problem. The whole thesis is supplemented with a detailed analysis of the data extracted from the questionnaire.
