Acoustic detection of starlings through artificial intelligence
Zezula, Benjamin ; Vlachová Hutová, Eliška (referee) ; Marcoň, Petr (advisor)
To protect the vineyards from starlings is very costly and ineffective with the available resources over a period of time. In my project, I have designed a detection module that relays information about the flock location in the vineyard to the control module and thus produces scaring. I have designed two kinds of detection modules, which are compared. The first variant consists of a single directional microphone that rotates and sequentially senses the entire area of the vineyard. The second variant consists of four microphones, each one is directed to the cardinal point and based on the intensity of sound, the module will provide the information about the direction where the flock is located. Both detection modules process the signal in a Raspberry Pi 4 single board computer using an artificial neural network algorithm powered by MobileNetV2 architecture.
Comparison of methods for RGB spectrogram construction of DNA
Postránecká, Tereza ; Provazník, Ivo (referee) ; Kubicová, Vladimíra (advisor)
This thesis discusses about possibilities of construction colour DNA spectrograms and about patterns which can be detected there. Spectrograms as tools of spectral analysis give us a simultaneous view of the local frequency throughout the nucleotide sequence. They are suitable for gene identification or gene regions identification, determination of global character about whole chromosomes and also give us a chance for the discovery of yet unknown regions of potential significance. For purpose of this kind of DNA analysis is possible to use digital signal processing methods. We can apply them on only after conversion of DNA sequence to numerical representation. Selection of correct numerical representation affects how well will be reflected biological features in numerical record which we need for another use in digital signal analysis.
Fourier transformation and spectrogram analysis of DNA sequences
Krejčí, Michal ; Provazník, Ivo (referee) ; Maděránková, Denisa (advisor)
Various methods of DNA sequences modifications for frequency analysis and basic characteristics of DNA are described in the theoretical part of this thesis. Tricolor spectrograms, created by short time Fourier transform help us to recognize some characteristic patterns in DNA sequences. Practical part of this work deals with developed programme which generates spectrograms and analyse them. Last part deals with the analysis of selected sequences of C. elegans genome. Some patterns are related to data of public databases such as NCBI. Various patterns are explained from the biological nature, which relates to chromosome structure and protein coding regions. Another well recognised patterns, tandem repetitions composed of satellites, microsatellites and minisatelites are described by spectrograms as well.
Selected Aspects of Statistical Significance Testing in Time-Frequency Analysis
Establishment of database of musical instruments recordings
Lavický, Vojtěch ; Mácha, Tomáš (referee) ; Rášo, Ondřej (advisor)
In this Bachelor thesis you can find created database of musical instruments. Recordings are descripted by it's waveforms and sectrograms. It may serve for example for removing noise from signal. A general data of instruments are descripted here. Human earing and his perception of sound is discuss here. There are also included parameters of sound itself and theory of calculations. Frequency and dynamic range are written to every instrument in database. These are consequently range by its size. As a part of the thesis is program with graphical user interface. The program include all the recordings from database and is open to any other recordings.
Spectrum analysis of the violin
Hanzálek, Pavel ; Smékal, Zdeněk (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This work focuses on the problems of sound spectrum analysis and directional characteristics of the violin. The beginning of the work deals with the development of the violin, generally about timbre and directional characteristics. The theoretical part also deals with different types of sound spectra and LPC analysis on general. The practical part deals with practical tasks of work such as a description of the application created in MATLAB for examination of the time spectrum of tones, FFT spectra, formants by LPC analysis and display of directional characteristics. It also deals with the describing the methods, the process of sensing and measuring two different violins with different types of strings and age of corpus.
The Program simulating the mutes of brass instruments
Košař, Vojtěch ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This Master’s thesis deals with the creation of a program that simulates an impact of sound mutes on the timbre of a trombone and a trumpet. The simulation in the Reaktor 6 environment is based on an analysis of this impact which compares the spectra and formant regions retrieved from the MATLAB environment. The analysis takes into account also the impact on harmonic overtones. Another part of this work is focusing on the theory of a trombone and a trumpet, their brief history, the parts they are consisting of and the principle of tone formation. In the Reaktor 6 environment there has been created also a sampler functioning as a virtual instrument for the trumpet and the trombon. The last part of the work deals with creating a simulation program with its structure and evaluation.
Voice commands recognition in audiosignal
Šrámek, Martin ; Grepl, Robert (referee) ; Krejsa, Jiří (advisor)
You are holding in your hands the Bachelor thesis which deals with design and realizing of isolated voice recognition system. The motivation of this thesis was an interest in remote control of robotic mechanisms by voice and a research of speech signal processing. It is widely developed these days. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first one is concerned with summarizing of recognition knowledge, in the second one this knowledge is used in design of a system.
Searching repetitive DNA in nucleotide sequences
Moskovská, Kateřina ; Provazník, Ivo (referee) ; Kubicová, Vladimíra (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with problem of repetitive DNA and algorithms for searching tandem repeats. Tandem repeats are important for biological industry. They are used as gene marker for creating genetic maps, profiles of DNA for paternity testing and in forensic sphere. Tandem repeats wreak several sever humen illness and it is another reason for their searching. Therefore are algorithms for searching of tandem repeats objects of many studies. We can divided algorithms to two main groups – algorithms based on string matching and algorithms based on digital signal processing. Task of this bachelor thesis is choose one member of each group and propose their implementation and than implement them in program Matlab. Result of this thesis should be comparison both programs. This comparison pass off on the basis of chosen criterion and several sequences. Both program transform these sequences and than can be programs compare.
Fiber optic perimeter intrusion detection systems
Duisenbekova, Karina ; Dejdar, Petr (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na aplikaci optických vlaknových senzorů v perimetrickém zabezpečení s cílem zabránit neoprávněnému přístupu a intruzi. Tyto systémy dokážou rozlišovat různé typy vloupání a narušení, čímž zvyšují bezpečnost chráněných objektů. Teoretická část práce popisuje dva prototypy senzorů - distribuované akustické a interferometrické senzory. Praktická část se opírá o Mach-Zender interferometrický optický vlaknový senzor, jehož citlivost je testována skákáním a chůzí poblíž senzorových kabelů.
