These provisions are motivated by an effort to harmonize legal parenthood with biological. They are a source of important statutory rights of an individual, which to some extent determine his/her legal status from the very birth. With statutory rights are subsequently firmly bound public legal consequences. These are mainly a relationship between the individual and the state, in particular the obligation to register a child in the state-led civil registration, and also the acquisition of the citizenship. The relationship of parent and child can be considered as basic and most important personal relationship ever. As a result, various rights and duties arise of this relationship, and therefore the need to regulate such relations by the law has appeared with the evolution of human society, so they were build on a solid basis without being disputed. Every state should thus have the obligation to implement such provisions into its legal order. Zadražilová, Jana ; Miskolczi, Martina (advisor) ; Antovová, Michaela (referee)
The bachelor´s work concerns with maternity in late age and lays the goal to draft present trends showing in the Czech Republic, using qualitative research to reveal the opinions and experience of women facing the mentioned problem and find out how much they are influenced in decision about the time of birth of the child by the partner. The work brings basic historical overview of changes in family behaviour, theoretical approaches that try to explain these changes and moreover it devotes also to occurence of evolutional defects at children of older mothers, also older fathers and rising interest about methods of assisted reproduction in connection with still rising age of mothers. Using the analysis of the trends of fertility from the year 1989 was found that it got to decrease of total fertility and specific rate of fertility is still moving to higher age of women but with lower intensity. The average age of women is still rising and with this also the number of performed cycles of assisted reproduction. In the same time also the occurence of inborn defects at the age of women 35 and more is relatively high. Thanks to qualitative research were in most of cases confirmed the arguments for postponement of maternity got from the professional literature. Moreover was found low level of knowledge about the occurence of inborn defects at children of older expectant mothers and relying on the methods of assisted reproduction in case of inability to become pregnant. The attitude of the partner in deciding about the time to have the first baby is either the same as the woman partner or the attitude of the woman is in this matter primary. In question of having a baby or not is deciding the attitude of the partner.

Male response to infertility by glance of female
KLEMENTOVÁ, Zuzana
This bachelor thesis, titled "Male Reactions to Infertility from Female Perspective", focuses on couples who have long been trying to conceive a child and on the way men react or express their opinions on the issue of infertility. The theoretical part is based on expert sources and explains the concepts that relate to this issue. A qualitative research strategy was selected for the practical part. The method of a snowball was used to select the research group. The research group consisted of women who have long been trying, or are trying, to conceive a child with their partners. The women were aged 25-50 years and of various education levels. The total number of the respondents was five. The method of interviews - semi-structured interviews - was used for data collection. Each of the interviews lasted 45 to 60 minutes on average and it was recorded on a recording device with the respondents´ consent. The main objective of the thesis was to describe, using women´s interpretations, their partners´ reactions to having trouble with getting pregnant and the solutions to this situation. To meet the above objective, two research questions were formulated: How do women interpret their partners´ reactions to infertility since the findings till resolving the situation? What man´s reactions would women consider adequate for the situation? Data was processed using a qualitative content analysis. The results obtained showed that men are quite often able and willing to communicate with their partners. These pairs demonstrated that men share the problem with their partners and are able support them. In this respect, it seems that men are mentally tougher and stronger than women. In two cases, it was found that men did not communicate with their partners because they were not accustomed to talk about problems. These two men also did not support their partners. However, the women expected these reactions. If the couples solved the problems of failed pregnancy repeatedly, their communication was problematic at first but there were improvements over time. The thesis reflects the issue that hotly debated currently as it is difficult nowadays to decide when to have a child. Male infertility is rather an issue of the recent decades; before it was automatically assumed that the fault is on the side of women. This thesis captures, through women´s interpretations, the reactions of partners to the problem of infertility. The results of this thesis could be used as informative material for professionals who encounter this group of patients because general ideas are still burdened with a lot of myths (e.g. men do not attend medical examination, couples divorce, etc.) They could also serve as support for men who have difficulties expressing their emotions and views on the infertility issue.
Bioethic in the public discourse
ŠIMKOVÁ, Petra
From time to time there comes to a stirring up of a society-wide discussion on bioethical issues ? abortion, prenatal diagnosis, assisted reproduction and euthanasia in the Czech Republic. This social discussion is largely influenced by media which present to us interesting news or a story, but it is necessary to realize that these topics have a much broader scope and potential impacts than it is served up to us by media. A wide range of debaters as well as professional and lay public regularly express to bioethical issues relating to the beginning and the end of life. For a fruitful discussion it is necessary to clearly define and specify concepts, because often there is a misguided discussion without any expected results. In the past there was no need to deal with such issues very much, because the order was in hands of Nature. Not completely healthy individuals failed to conceive a child, an unwanted foetus was carried to term and its sex was a surprise for parents and finally, people died naturally according to their age or after a lost match with a disease. For many people Nature, for others some Higher Order. Of course, an incredible scientific development enabled such miracles of which we would have not dreamt hundred years ago yet. We have gained many rights, freedom and democracy as well as a wide-ranging choice. Today we can decide whether to become pregnant and in the same way we can decide that we get rid of the full womb from different reasons. Using diagnostic methods we can determine what a child we carry bellow the heart, but with the help of the same technique it can become uncomfortable for us. We can be treated and live even a century and in many places we can lawfully decide that our life has no meaning and we can finish it. The aim of the diploma thesis is to map readers´ awareness of bioethical issues using a secondary analysis of printed documents from three chosen Czech dailies in 2000 ? 2010 years. To track what triggered a debate among the readers, who discussed and what stance adopted the readers on the issue. The secondary objective was also the mapping of all proponents´ and opponents´ arguments of selected topics and comparing the results with the professional literature. The research shows that the public debate was always sparked by an event presented by the media, to which subsequently responded readers from all areas. According to the research results the public awareness of bioethical issues has been formed mostly by experts directly involved in bioethical dilemmas or carrying out such a profession, in which bioethics greatly interferes. Readers of diverse composition participated in the discussion and the most represented group was a group of experts and a group of lay debaters.
