Dynamics of young stars in the Galactic nucleus

As observations show, there are two coherently rotating structures of a few tens of young stars in the centre of our Galaxy close to a supermassive black hole. One of them contains a very dense star cluster, so-called complex IRS 13E. There are some speculations there might be an intermediate mass black hole with mass of the order of 103 -104 M in its centre. Using numerical simulations of the stellar dynamics in the dominant potential of Sgr A* disturbed by IRS 13E and a spherically symmetric cluster of old stars, which is believed to be there too, I have set upper limits on the masses of both disturbers, which guarantee, that the disturbers' presence cannot be of a destructive inuence on observed conguration of the system. It comes out that the incidence of the spherically symmetric star cluster is very stabilizing. My results show that the upper mass limit of the IRS 13E can be an order of magnitude higher, when the spherical cluster is considered (6 × 104 M) in comparison to the case, when it is omitted (4,5 × 103 M).

Indicators of the Quality of Nursing as Part of the Systems of the Quality Management in a Health Institution

One of the components influencing the evaluation of health care quality done by a patient is nurse care. This mainly depends on nurses themselves. This issue is addressed in the diploma thesis by Be Pavla Kárníková called "Indicators of the Quality of Nursing as part of the Systems of the Quality Management in a Health Institution". The aim of this thesis is to chart the scope of quality monitoring in health institutions situated in the Czech Republic. The knowledge of national indicators and standards has been examined as well as their influence on the overall quality of nurse care. The first part is theoretical and is dealing with historical developement of quality managent systems. Consequently, selected systems and their application in public health are observed. At the end of this part there is a brief characteristic and description of benefits concerning individual programmes. The following part is focused on the nursing quality and methods of its monitoring and evaluation. The important question is the choice of indicators and their placement into the procedure of quality assessment. Concept of Basic Programme of 24 Forms of Yang Style Tai chi chuan for beginners

The assignment for the Bachelor thesis was proposing and creating the Multimedia Basic Programme of 24 Forms of Yang Style Tai chi chuan for beginners. In the theoretical part of the assignment we give the fundamental information about the Chinese martial art Tai chi chuan and about its basic exercise principles. Further on we introduce the phases of motoric learning and the education process concerning the practice of Tai chi chuan. In the practical part we are rather dealing with the suggestion of the Multimedia Basic Programme of 24 Forms of Yang Style Tai chi chuan and its software processing, including the description of table of contents. This is supplied with the photo documentation, which graphicly shows the feet position in individual steps of Tai chi chuan practice. The same principle implies synchronizing of the first exercises of the 24 Forms. The important part is also the photo documentation showing the most common mistakes in practicing Tai chi chuan, which by its exercising, is important to avoid. The Basic Programme on the DVD shows: the introduction of practice, chi kung, basic principles of body work and weight balance, the preparatory exercise, basic steps and stances, individual movements of 24 Forms, summary of routine 24 Forms, demonstration of applications.

An Analysis of the Counselling-Therapeutic Process in the Substitute Programme Subutexem o.s. Prev-Centrum

This diploma paper focuses on the analysis counselling process in The Subutex® substitution programme Prev-Centrum, NGO, in Prague. On the strength of contemporary knowledge questions are asked about both this process and the whole programme. The theoretical part of this paper overviews contemporary knowledge on drug abusing; focussing on opiods, drug dependence and drug addiction and possibilities of drug users' treatment. It maps the situation in this field in the Czech Republic at the present time. This paper concentrates on both pharmaceutical and psychosocial stages of drug treatment, with special attention on the use of buprenorphine (Subutex®) as substitution. In the practical part of this paper the author analyzes her own factual examples of counselling praxis in The Subutex® substitution programme, with regard for previous theoretical basis. Pointing to key moments of this counselling process she is looking for their reasons and consequences, and considering the practical use of final statements in The Subutex® substitution programme Prev-Centrum, NGO. Application of Programmable Logic Controller - Siemens LOGO! in high school education of automatization and electronics

The content of the thesis is to familiarize students with module PLC Siemens LOGO! and its practical use in teaching courses in the subjects as automation, electro-nics and mechatronics at vocational secondary schools. The content is focused on the basic description of the development and graphical environment and its use in practical problems solving. In the practical part of the proposals there are worksheets for pupils with the design of pupils´ simple tasks. After studying this text and the compilation of practical problems, the student should be capable of independent operation with module PLC Siemens LOGO! and implementation of complex applications.

Applications of Multivariate Time Series Models in Finanacial Analysis

The thesis deals with the applications of multivariate ARMA models for particular time series from nancial markets; it consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. The former refers to the theory of multivariate ARMA models and methods of their applications. In the latter two time series are solved by system Mathematica 5.0, one currency courses series and one stock exchange index series. The data and programme source code are enclosed on a CD.

Analýza nelineárních časových řad

Cílem této diplomové práce je analýza chování finančních časových řad vybraných z různých ekonomických oblastí. Konkrétně se jedná o dvě řady hodnot akcií a dvě řady hodnot měnových kurzů. V praktické části jde nejen o jejich analýzu a hledaní nejvhodnějšího modelu každé řady, ale také o popsání společných i rozdílných vlastností zkoumaných řad. Pozornost je soustředěna zejména na modelování podmíněného rozptylu pomocí modelů GARCH a hledání asymetrie pomocí nelineárních modelů volatility typu EGARCH a GJR-GARCH. Tyto modely jsou součástí většiny dostupných statistických softwarů. Ve druhé kapitole jsou uvedeny některé základní pojmy a definice, se kterými se lze při analýze časových řad setkat. Třetí kapitola popisuje základní stacionární a nestacionární lineární modely a aplikaci Kalmanových filtrů. Rozsáhlá čtvrtá část má za úkol přiblížit vlastnosti pěti nelineárních modelů, které jsou v literatuře často zmiňovány a které se vyskytují v mnoha modifikacích. Za ty nejdůležitější autor považuje bilineární modely, modely autoregresních náhodných koeficientů (RCA), dvojitě stochastické modely, prahové autoregresní modely (TAR) a autoregresní modely s podmíněným rozptylem (ARCH, GARCH). V páté části jsou již zmíněné aplikace modelů skupiny GARCH.

Analysis of The Effects of Wind on The Steel Ventilated Facade

This master´s thesis analyzes an effect of wind load on the ventilated facade claddings. The analysis is performed on the various types of facades, from unventilated to ventilated facades with a different geometrical arrangement of facade shell. The theoretical part describes the basic knowledge about the theory of flow, turbulence modeling, determining an optimal domain, verification of the calculation model and user interface in the ANSYS software. The final part compares the value of the wind load reduction depending on the change of the gap widths and the size of ventilated spaces. The resulting values are obtained by CFD simulations. The thesis includes a design and an assessment of the steel hall construction.
