Using reverberators to modify space acoustics
Pavlikovský, Vladislav ; Orlovský, Kristián (referee) ; Kurc, David (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with adjusting the reverberation time of enclosed spaces. It is divided into two thematic areas. The first thematic area deals with active systems that adjust the reverberation time, with a stronger focus on usage of reverberators to simulate secondary spaces. The second thematic area is the implementation of reverberators and their fundamental building blocks in Matlab.

Theoretical part presents wireless network based on IEEE 802.11 standard and its practical use. Large part is focuses on 802.11e standart, that provides support for quality of service in wireless networks. Furthemore this thesis deals with transport and applicaton protocols supporting multimedia streaming over computer network. Second chapter is focused on analyzing real computer network with purpose in measuring parametrs influencing quality of service such as bandwith, delay, jitter and loss. Last part deals with the design of wireless network in OPNET Modeler enviroment with focus on simulating parameters that influence quality of service.
Network service testing with WAN network emulator and load simulators
Kocáb, Marek ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
The main task of this thesis was to explore the requirements of different telecommunications services on the network parameter, that are packet delay, packet loss, throughput, jitter. Make to test network service with WAN network emulator and load simulators. Next focus was to explore TCP congestion avoidance algorithms and focus on their throughput. The purpose of the first chapter is to introduce Quality of Service (QoS) for VoIP, video conversation, streaming audio, streaming video and data. The second chapter are to explore various types of delay, that are created from the sender through network device, transmission media to the recipient. The third chapter is to introduce NetDisturb application. It is application, that can emulate real properties of the data network and incoming traffic affect example packet delay, packet loss, bandwidth limit and so on. The key objectives of the fourth and fifth part is TCP protocol and TCP congestion avoidance algorithms. Hier are to introduce TCP protocol basic properties, congestion avoidance mechanisms and analysis of TCP congestion avoidance algorithms. In the practical part are created two laboratory exercises. First laboratory exercise is designed on the implementation QoS for various types of traffic. Second laboratory exercise is focused on the analysis TCP congestion avoidance algorithms and their throughput.
Geolocation in Internet using network topologies
Dvořák, Filip ; Verner, Lukáš (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
The thesis discusses about modern geolocation methods and it describes the basic principles of their work. The work is divided into 2 parts - the theoretical one and the practical one. The first part of the thesis is focused on the description of these methods and on the explanation of its basic concepts which are used for determining of the physical position of the station according to its IP address. The second more extensive part of the work focuses on the description of the realization of algorithm in the Octant method in the programming language of Java and its use in the experimental net of PlanetLab. One important thing is to create a set of reference points and targets, which are necessary for the testing of the whole algorithm of the Octant Method. The results of estimated accuracy of target location obtained by the Octant method and their comparison with the results obtained by active methods of CBG, SOI and with the passive method of GeoIP are listed at the end of this work.
Geolocation of Internet hosts
Ingr, Michal ; Müller, Jakub (referee) ; Balej, Jiří (advisor)
This master thesis deals with methods of stations’ geolocation on the Internet, it means the estimation geographic location of unknown station, which is conected to this network. The introductory part describes the methods for determining position, which don‘t need any measeruments of the network. The next section is devoted to points, where delay is invoked, to the causes of latency in the Internet, to their types and some usual values. The following part features ways to measure delays and route, including several tools for this purpose. The penulminate section describes some chosen geolocation techniques based on RTT measurement. The final chapter is devoted to practical demonstration geolocation using the CBG method, when the delay measurement was carried out in an experimental PlanetLab network.
Distance measurement between nodes in IP networks
Šimák, Jan ; Novotný, Vít (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
This thesis deals with delay prediction issue between nodes on the Internet. Accurate delay prediction helps with choosing of the nearest internet neighbor and contributes to effective usage of network sources. Unnecessary network load is decreased due to algorithms of delay prediction (no need for many latency measuring). The thesis focuses theoretically on the three main algorithms using coordinate systems - GNP, Vivaldi, Lighthouses. Last one is at the same time the main subject of the thesis too. Algorithm Lighthouses is explored in detail theoretically and in practise too. In order to verify the accurate of delay prediction of Lighthouses algorithm the simulation application was developed. The application is able to compute node coordinates of synthetic network using Lighthouses algorithm. Description of simulation application and evaluation of simalution results are part of practice part of this thesis.
Simulation of data transmission latency between nodes in IP networks
Balej, Jiří ; Molnár, Karol (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
This master thesis is focused on the delays incurred in data transmitting over IP networks. The top of the paper is devoted to points, where delay is invoked and causes of the latency. For individual sources of delay are are described the parameters that affect the usual size of latency. The next section describes the types of networks and their typical delay. In the paper are also discussed tools for measuring delay and determining the number of intermediate devices. The thesis contains results of measurements delay time in the real network. For these results are listed conclusions about the delay for one intermediate device. There is also said general ratio of crow-fly distance and calculated distance. The last part deals the simulation of delay in the NS2 program. The results of thesis are scripts that shows the relation of delay and the number of switches, routers, and the length of the path.
Mobile IP in MANETs
Raška, Martin ; Hošek, Jiří (referee) ; Skořepa, Michal (advisor)
This thesis discuss about the problem with mobility of stations in IP networks, concretely protocol Mobile IP and about the problems with this protocol in MANET networks, with the scope on Motorola MESH. First part is about design integration of protocol Mobile IP in this networks with usage Tropos 5210 MetroMesh routers and Cisco components (router, switch) to design and configure wireless MESH network, than connect this network with Cisco components and try to implement Mobile IP into this network. Second part is about design and configure wireless network from Cisco Wireless Access Points and about succesfully implementation of Mobile IP protocol into this network. In the last part is some tests of the function and quality of this topology.
Measuring of data communication parameters in computer networks
Šeda, Pavel ; Hošek, Jiří (referee) ; Skořepa, Michal (advisor)
Master‘s thesis is focused on basic characteristics of data transmissions in computer networks. In forepart I digestedly described basic characteristics computer networks, metods of their measurement and valuation. Computer networks type LAN as well as wireless computer networks Wifi, are mentioned. In second part I realized my own proposition of basic characteristics measurement. This proposition is used for SW applications development. Main goal of these applications is measurement of packet delay, packet jitter, paket loss and available bandwidth. I described details of SW applications and realized measurement of real computer networks in the end.
Influence selected factors the development of tax collections from corporate income tax?
Pajerová, Eva ; Mičúch, Marek (advisor) ; Koubek, Ivo (referee)
The Aim is to assess the impact of selected factors on the collection of tax on corporate income. Variables are divided into two groups. Factors that have their origins in the tax law (tax rate, amendment of law no. 586/1992 Coll.), and the group of circumstances that affect the final tax liability (the price of electricity, gas price, oil price, GDP, inflation, interest loans, currency exchange rates, balance of foreign trade). Each model is compiled and tested based on quarterly data from the years 2002 -- 2009. An important finding is that the tax rate affects the collection of taxes on corporate income throughout the whole period. If the tax rate drops, reducing the collection of taxes. Extent of the impact of variable rate depends on the degree of delay.
