Tittle: Comparative analysis of addirect forward stroke performed on single canoe in flatwater canoeing. Goals: The goals of study is to describe and compare the movement pattern of a forvard paddle stroke on a canoe in flatwater and in the paddling pool (flum). Methods: The work has mixed empirical-theoretical character, The study is a descriptive individual study. Muscle activity was measured using surface electromyography with synchronized video recording (kinematic analysis). Results: We found differences in the sequence of muscle activity in the direct paddle stroke on a canoe. The main sequential difference were found with these muscles: musculus triceps brachii R, m. biceps brachii L, m. external abdominal oblique L. Key words: Flatwater canoeing, C1 women, flum, elektromyography, forward stroke
The distribution of the strain and differences of muscle activity of the lower limb during stance phase in two basic running techniques
Šimon, Jan ; Slabý, Kryštof (advisor) ; Pokorný, Jan (referee)
This thesis is focused on the function of the foot during the running activity. There are two basic running techniques taken in account - the rearfoot strike and the forefoot strike. The aim is to compare the distribution of the strain during the stance phase of running cycle and its relation to the muscle activity of the lower limb. To analyze the muscle activity we use the technique of electromyography (EMG). To measure the pressure during the stance phase we used Pedar - X insoles from the Novel company. As a conclusion we aim to map the distribution of the strain of all particular parts of the lower limb. At the same time we are bringing the proposals for eliminating the overexertion while keeping the same training intensity and volumes.

Horáková, Klára ; Holubářová, Jiřina (advisor) ; Pánek, David (referee)
Title: Comparison of rhythmic stabilization according to Kabat with the techniques used in practice. Objectives: The main aim of this thesis was to measure and compare the level of muscle activity and the level of cocontraction of Muscle quadratus lumborum sinister, obliquus internus abdominis sinister, rectus abdominis sinister and dexter obliquus externus abdominis, which were exposed to different stabilization techniques - rhythmic stabilization and technique used in practice - technique "pushing". Methods: This is an experimental study which is analyzed and then assessing the level of cocontraction of antagonists and the degree of muscle strength in two different ways- the technique of PNF and technique pushing. We use a surface electromyography as an objectification method. The sample consisted of 7 probands. Results: It was discovered that left side lying position not enlarged to the level of activity of all muscles required, therefore the muscles involved in PNF diagonals. Prerequisite increased level of activation during rhythmic stabilization technique according to Kabat was confirmed only in m. quadratus lumborum sinister and m. obliquus externus abdominis dexter and the values statistically insignificant. Participation of the rectus abdominis though its dominant and statistically...

Pospíšilová, Nikol ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Novotná, Irena (referee)
Title: Analysis of electromyographic activity of selected muscles in exercises on selected balance surfaces. Objective: The objective of this dissertation was to document, compare and analyze electromyographic activity of m. gluteus maximus et medius, of m. erector spinae at the level L3 and of m. quadriceps vagus medialis et lateralis in exercises on selected unstable surfaces - on a cylindrical board and in balance sandals. Methods: The work was elaborated as a pilot study. Surface electromyography was used for objectification. The researched group consisted of 7 volunteers (5 women and 2 men), who had no serious injuries and surgeries in their anamnesis and none of them did any sports for a long period. Electromyographic activity of the above mentioned muscles was compared when doing two clearly defined exercises (stand on one lower extremity and hovering/gait on the spot) in balancing sandals and on a cylindrical board in sagittal plane. Results: The results only confirmed two hypotheses out of five ones. Namely it was the hypothesis no. 2 that the lowest activity of m. gluteus maximus was reached while doing exercise no. 3 - hovering/gait on the spot on a cylindrical board and the hypothesis no. 3 that the highest activity of m. erector spinae was reached while doing exercise no. 4 -...

Analysis of strenght training of rock climbers - campusing
Malý, Jiří ; Kračmar, Bronislav (advisor) ; Novotný, Petr (referee)
Title: Analysis of strenght training of rock climbers - campusing Objectives: The main objective of this work is to determine time and space characteristic of working muscle chains of upper body during training on campus board and climbing on vertical wall. Comparing basic exercise by measuring EMG signal in combination with cinematographic analysis synchronized with video record, to analyse coordination markers of muscle work in selected area of movement system. Methods: In our thesis we used a method of analysis and a method of comparison. We apllied the method of analysis in research of campusing movement and the method of comparison in comparing the basic climbing movement and basic campusing. Results: It is possible to define campusing as movement in vertical axis, which is executed by three times faster muscle chains activation compared to basic climbing on vertical wall. Movement is realized by upper limbs, by changing positions of one point holding position and two point holding position. In both activities measured muscles are wireing in similar mode, during campusing the musculus pectoralis major and the musculus triceps brachii are faster in start of their activity compared to climbing on vertical wall. Keywords: sport climbing, muscle chains, electromyography, campusing
Kinesiological Analysis of the Rowing Stroke
Zbořilová, Martina ; Bačáková, Radka (advisor) ; Kračmar, Bronislav (referee)
Title: Kinesiological Analysis of the Rowing Stroke. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to obtain, to analyse and process received data about the activity and involvement of the selected measured muscles, working throughout one cycle of the rowing stroke - in the course of the drive phase and during the recovery part of the stroke as well. Methods: The work is processed by a kinesiological analysis of selected movement of the rowing stroke, based on the determination of muscle activation. Electromyography method was synchronized with the video recording. Results: Based on the sequences of the muscle activation was described their order and sequence in the actual shot of the rowing stroke (drive phase and recovery). We have proved that in the rigorous technical performance are always activated the same muscles in the exactly same order. Individual deviations from the correct technique in measuring appeared and thus enable their correction. Keywords: Electromyography, rowing, muscles, stroke.
Measurement of muscle activity during gait at patients with knock knees
Krist, Lukáš ; Pánek, David (advisor) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee)
Title: Measurement of muscle activity during gait at patients with knock knees Objective: The aim of this study was to compare muscle activation between two groups of volunteers with and without knock-knees during level ground and incline walking on treadmill by surface electromyography. Muscles were measured on both legs, specificly tibialis anterior muscle, gastrocnemius lateralis muscle, vastus medialis muscle, adductor magnus muscle, semimembranosus muscle and tensor fasciae latae muscle. The goal of this experiment was to discover which muscles are more or less aktive according to the other group of participants. Then based on the conclusion could be possible to affect these changes by physiotherapy in future. Methods: The surface electromyography was used for measurement muscle activation. There were 12 volunteers, 9 women and 3 men, participate on this study in age from 21 to 27. Intermalleolar distance was used as a screening investigation for sorting into two groups whether the knock-knees are present or not. Result: There were different muscle activation between both groupes. Some muscles had increased activation others had lowest activation. However, this increase can be considered as statistically significant only in case of averrage amplitude muscle activity during midstance of step by...
