Software for a Czech-Chinese and Chinese-Czech dictionary
Hudeček, Jan ; Straňák, Pavel (referee) ; Homola, Petr (advisor)
Czech-Chinese and Chinese-Czech dictionary is an electronic dictionary which can be used both by a beginner or a seasoned translator. It allows searching in both directions and a fulltext search for given expression. Data access is hybrid - the program checks if it can access the database - if it fails it reads the data files. Moreover users can change the data source at run-time. The program builds indexes on the data file speeding searches up considerably. Indexes can be hashtables or binary trees. Asynchronous multithreaded IO was implemented to enhance the comfort of the GUI. The .NET framework and MS SQL Server as a platform guarantees rapid development, deployment and scalability - for example adding a web application to the project would be quite easy. At the same time the design of the system allows for future improvements - for instance editing the dictionary from the GUI.

Data mining from incoming e-mail messages
Šebesta, Jan ; Žemlička, Michal (advisor) ; Hnětynka, Petr (referee)
In the present work we study possibilities of automatic sorting of incoming email communication. Our primary goal is to distinguish information about oncoming workshops and conferences, job off ers and published books. We are trying to develop tool to mine the information from data from professional mailing lists. Off ers in the mailing lists come in html, rtf or plain text format, but the information in it is written in common spoken language. We are developing the system so it will use text mining methods to extract the information and save it structured form. Than we will be able to work with it. We are examining the handling of the mails by user and apply the knowledge in the development. We solve the problems with obtaining of the messages, distinguishing language and encoding and estimating the type of message. After recognition of the bearing information we are able to mine data. In the end we save the mined information to the database, which allows us to display it in well{arranged way, sort and search according to the user needs.

Query databases and web
Král, Michal ; Galamboš, Leo (referee) ; Pokorný, Jaroslav (advisor)
Databases and web are two environments, where searching is used the most. In addition one group of developers draw on the experience of the other one in solving a lot of problems. In majority of projects, both sources of information stay isolated and synchronous convey from both is rather exception. This dissertation follow integration of internet searchers directly into SQL queries. Besides partly analysing papers connecting both subjects, it describes technical aspects of this connection, including method of asynchronous iteration. The gist of this paper lay in realization of three functions, which call web searcher and at the same are suited for use in DB queries. Selected functions are www_rank, which returns relevancy of phrase, then it is www_near, which returns relative relationship of two phrases and the last one is agregation function www_best_address, which returns the best common link for group of phrases. For this purpose we chose database server Oracle 10g and Jyxo.cz web searcher.

Mapping of urban sprawl using remote sensing data
Vostracká, Barbora ; Potůčková, Markéta (advisor) ; Kupková, Lucie (referee)
Mapping of urban sprawl using remote sensing data Abstract Mapping of urban sprawl has been an often discussed topic recently. This work compares remote sensing methods and socio-geographic methods used for tracing urban area changes over a certain period of time, and for mapping of these changes. First the potential of socio-geographic methods for tracing urban area changes is examined, and advantages and disadvantages of these methods are evaluated. Then, in a similar way, remote sensing data and methods which can be used in this field are studied. Based on the example of Praha-západ district is illustrated how CORINE database data can be used for mapping of urban sprawl on the national and regional levels. On the example of Zličín and Hostivice cadastral areas it is shown how to classify high-resolution satellite images and how to interpret aerial images in order to create maps of urban area changes on a local scale. The outcomes of both methods were compared using RSO register data. This work aims to evaluate how suitable remote sensing data and methods are for monitoring and mapping of urban area changes, especially in areas of suburbanization. Keywords: remote sensing, urban areas changes, suburbanization, urban sprawl

Possibilities of using Caché database system
Brož, Ondřej ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Vedral, Pavel (referee)
Structure of this work is divided into a few main chapters. The biggest part is focused on a creation relational and object schema of a specific example and their realization in Caché database. The next goals are theoretically describe database, object model, its characteristics as well and comparison the object principles in Caché and Oracle database. After a few words whose describe the most important facts in a history of databases the reader can learn something about the Caché database. Mainly its architecture which is the greatest advantage against the competition. Next charter quickly show how to successfully install and access the database. In charter 4 the basic database tools are mentioned such as development environment Caché Studio, command line Caché Terminal and web interface for administration called Caché System Management Portal. The fifth and sixth chapter covers the main goal of this work. In fifth chapter the object model (relational model only in part), its basic principles (defined in ODMG standards) and object characteristics are described. The sixth chapter show the creation process of the object schema "step by step" together with possible ways how to insert data and select them. Final codes for structure and data are placed at the end of work . In last chapter I am trying to compare object characteristics in Caché and Oracle database(version 10gR2). The contribution of this work is in explanation of object principles with the "step by step" processes of creating and realization object schema shown on a concrete example (the official documentation doesn't obtain them).

Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
