RYBOVÁ, Eva
Firearms misuse is a serious social problem. This poses an urgent need to handle the situation because of its social dangerousness and also for educative purposes. Firearms have become the predominant weapons used by mankind. In 20th century the development of firearms hit its most rapid pace. Firearms became effective, popular but also dreaded accessories of people. They have often changed human fate or even social structures. When used they have had a positive or negative impact according to the purpose, the period and the place. Nowadays firearms are being used for other purposes such as hunting, collecting and sport. There are special laws and regulations to be followed while using firearms in our country. Despite this fact we can see law violations and the criminal use of firearms which leads to injuries and deaths. My thesis brings the analysis of the current firearms regulations in our country. I compare statistical data from the period of 2005, 2006 and 2007 relating to persons possessing the licence to carry arms, firearm permits and legally owned fireams and the criminal offences committed by using firearms. A prevention program with the objective to reduce criminal firearm activites is suggested. It is aimed at preschool children, school children, teenagers, but also at persons owning firearm permits and licences to carry firearms themselves. The last part of the program is focused on detection of illegally owned firearms. It is the Police of the Czech Republic who organize the preventive activities with the cooperation of other state organizations. The Police of the Czech Republic are not only a repressive authority. Their service contributes to feelings of safety and happy living of citizens in our country.

Bém, Robert ; Jirkovská, Alexandra (advisor) ; Štěpán, Jan (referee) ; Broulík, Petr (referee)
The diabetic foot (DF) is one of the most frequent late complications of diabetes, which often leads to limb amputation and effects the quality of life in patients with diabetes. Ischaemia and infection play important role in pathogenesis of DF. One form of DF is Charcot neuroosteoarthropathy (CNO), defined as a noninfectious destruction of bones and joints in the foot due to diabetic neuropathy. The subject of the dissertation thesis was divided into 3 parts: bone metabolism and CNO, ischaemia and infection in DF and new methods in the treatment of DF. (...) In the third study, new quantitative scintigraphic parameters for assessment of CNO activity were defined and confirmed their satisfactory correlation with other parameters of CNO activity. In fourth and fifth study, good reproducibility was verified and efficiency of power spectral analysis of heart rate variability as a new method for diagnosis of autonomic neuropathy in patients with CNO. Sixth study refered to rare causes of atypical localization of CNO in the knee joint. Ischaemia and infection in DF were resolved in one study. In multivariate analysis of seventh study we approved, that risk factors for difficulty healing after minor amputation of the foot were low level of transcutaneous oxygen tension and high level of C-reactive protein before...

Child abuse and neglect and possibilities of his legal protection (in context of family preservation)
Tesařová, Veronika ; Kodymová, Pavla (advisor) ; Holda, Dalibor (referee)
Problematika spadající pod syndrom CAN - zejména je-li pachatelem rodič dítěte - je velmi závažným společenským selháním.

Issues associated with hospitalization of children with parents staying with them
ŽÁKOVÁ, Lucie
I chose the topic of my thesis-the problems of child´s hospitalization with parents at children´s ward, because ill children and in hospital should not stay alone. The care should be focused on their psychic and also on their parents who are afraid and worried about their child. In the theoretical part of my work the branch paediatrics is mentioned first, followed partly by history of children medicine and nursing. Contemporary system of children´s care is described and developmental periods of children are mentioned in short. Then concepts like health, illness, coping with illness in different age periods continue. Further chapters are devoted to the family of ill child, preparation for hospitalization and nursing process in child at the ward. Practical part is focused on parent´s and nurses´ opinion on the problems, their opinions whether they prefer hospitalization together with parent or just short-time visits of a child who is hospitalized. The data were investigated with the help of two kinds of questionnaires. The first one was established for nurses working at the ward, the other one was for parents or company of hospitalized children. It was found out that Hypothesis I:{\crqq}Parents prefer hospitalization with the child{\crqq} was confirmed. But Hypothesis II:``Nurses prefer in child´s hospitalization just short visits of parents{\crqq} was not confirmed because nurses prefer common hospitalization of parents and their children to short-time visits. The results of this thesis can be used both by children stations and other people who are interested in the problems.
